Discussion / Question The ones that got away, never escaped the arcades/Never came to consoles.

Title pretty much says what I want people to discuss. Beloved arcade cabinets that ate our quarters, and never gave us a home version port. Not really counting lackluster ports, cos in the Atari through NES era, and honestly, bleeding over into the SNES/Genesis period, every home port was ass in a box when compared to the graphics, sound and capabilities of a massive arcade cabinet.Yeah, NES version of TMNT ARCADE was not bad, a great Nintendo game, sure but still nothing compared to the actual game; I’m asking for stuff we either never got to play at home, though might fudge rules a bit for games like X-men that got an Xbox port, but then pulled from availability
I mean games like Carnevil, or Simpsons. Apparently Simpsons did get a pc port, but shitty and missing content.

Discussion / Question I have an idea for a game

Like I said, I have an idea to make a SCI-FI game...

I'm from Argentina (don't hate me, I hate football, I'm not racist), I'm looking for a company to produce my game. I started writing it a month ago while reading about some political events in my country and around the world. I'm really excited about the idea of a game based on my country... but I don't want it to be cheap or shoddy. I'm interested in a quality production, suitable for everyone.

(My English isn't very good, I'm doing my best)

Discussion / Question Tell me about your favorite game

Sometimes I have those moments where I look for a game I can grind for a long time, but usually there is little to no result, so I am asking you to name your favorite PAID game and why I should play it, and do the same with your favorite FREE game.

With this I try to help ME and OTHERS find a nice game and maybe someone will find their new favorite game!

Discussion / Question Hellraiser Revival could end up being the BEST surprise of 2026!

I recognize that this game is not for everyone, I recognize that Hellraiser himself is not for everyone giving it’s obscene amount of sex and violence

But as a big fan of the series, and narrative horror, games in general… the more I see if this game the more I think it has serious potential to be one of the best surprises of this year!

For starters, a story driven game based on a horror, IP, and not a multiplayer game already gets my respect, but not only do I have to respect the devs for getting away with what they’re getting away with (how this game man to get an M rating is beyond me) but I respect that it actually feels like Hellraiser, and it’s not holding back in the slightest to nail that feeling,

On top of that, I like how the gameplay looks! Like an immersive Sim meets resident evil inventory management, which is really cool and more than I was expecting. I really thought we were just gonna get a linear walking narrative, horror game, which I would’ve been fine with…. But they’re actually adding a little more to it which I appreciate.

All in all, I just had to get this off my chest really quick, and I’m honestly really interested to see how this game works out cause I think it has serious potential! is anyone else really interested in this game??

Discussion / Question Temu Video Game Ads?

Here's the thing, I'm not a Temu shopper. I've got a co-worker who buys all kinds of random crap on Temu, and the quality is what you expect. So, that's fine. If you're buying something cheap, and you EXPECT something cheap, it's no big deal. But I see them advertise deals on games... so here's my question:

  1. Is it more of a "well, sometimes it's that price, but usually it's only about $3 less than retail."
    OR
  2. Is it a situation like: "Heck yeah, you want a Switch 2 game for $14? Be prepared for your console to get bricked by Nintendo for buying pirated games!"

Discussion / Question What are you using to restore old anime and PS2 game videos?

I’ve been on a nostalgia trip lately, trying to upscale some old compressed 480p anime clips and 2000s PS2 game cutscenes to watch on my 4K monitor. A lot of these old files have terrible compression artifacts, edge ringing, and color bleeding.

I’ve spent the last few days testing a few popular options:

  • Open-source (Video2X / Anime4K): Free and great for basic anime lines, but the setup took way too long, and it struggled to handle heavy pixelation without creating weird jagged edges.
  • Topaz Video AI: Great for live-action, but honestly felt like overkill for anime/CG. Plus, the rendering took forever on my mid-range GPU, and $300 is pretty steep.
  • HitPaw VikPea : I gave this a shot specifically because it has a dedicated Animation Model. Out of everything I tried, this gave me the cleanest result for 2D lines and flat colors without making the characters look like weird oil paintings. Processing speed was also surprisingly fast compared to Topaz.

For anyone else upscaling old anime or gaming content what’s your go-to setup or model right now? Curious to hear what others are using.
