Hello everyone! I’m currently a CS major going into my senior year at UTD. I’ve had the blessed opportunity to work on some great projects within the small satellite sector throughout the 3 years I’ve completed in undergrad, most notably at a lab at Northeastern University and at a startup I’m currently working for. Throughout my time at UTD I’ve always wished we had some kind of aerospace/satellite presence and have always been upset that I had to go to other institutions to do the thing that I like doing. I have one more year left to make this happen, so why not go all in. I’m making this post to gauge general interest. Thanks for your time!

Even after financial aid, a scholarship, and a couple of federal grants, I still am going to owe the school a large sum. I've been working since I was 14, so I knew I was going to need to work in college but didn't expect it to be this urgent. Does anyone have any tips or advice on what the best student friendly (but also pocket friendly) jobs are? I've applied for 5 on campus jobs already (including work study), So please steer advice away from that. TIA!!

So I failed the ALEKS exam the first time and have been studying since then so I can retake it this week to get a better grade, but I'm still worried that I'm going to score too low. I'm pre med and the thing is that I'm not bad at math, but when I lose exposure for long periods of time like summer, I kinda lose the skill. If I don't end up scoring high enough to take differential calculus my first semester, am I screwed?

I'm Transfering from collin college to UT Dallas

as junior. How is the workload Hard. I have a second question regarding where the exams come from do they usually from homeworks and reviews like collin college or it's different.

Hi everyone, I recently moved to UT Dallas as a J-1 postdoc from another state and have an out-of-state driver's license. With all the recent discussions about Texas REAL ID and visa issues, I'm a bit worried. Has anyone in the last couple of months (J-1 or F-1) successfully transferred their out-of-state license to a Texas driver's license? My visa stamp is expired, but I'm in valid status with a current DS-2019 and I-94. If you recently did it, which DPS office did you go to, and was the process smooth?

Ok, so, I’m pretty much still stuck on the waitlist for on campus housing. Would it be worth it to wait it out or just sign a lease with northside to get housing?

I have a furnished room available in a quiet and safe neighborhood, walking distance to the campus! Rent is $900 including utilities and internet, except electricity. Electricity will be splitting with other two male roommates who also go to UTD, average is $50/person. Please let me know if anyone interested!

I’ve heard that utd is getting stingy with their scholarships compared to previous years, and to apply as early as possible. I'm planning to apply a week or two after august SAT scores release on september 4th. However, will applying earlier and not retaking the sat give me a better change at good scholarship money??

I have a 1460 rn, decent ecs I think, but I'm not in the top 10%. 

I'm trying to figure out whether I can transfer into UTD in the spring semester of 2027. For context, I graduated in May 2026 and took 1 summer session 1 class that along with my dual credit classes got my GPA to a 3.0. With my combined dual credit and AP credits in high school I have 42+ credit hours but I'm not sure if those can possibly transfer. I'm also going to take a semester at Dallas College for the fall which is where the dual credit comes from. What are my options realistically and what's problematic about my plan?
