hello, i’m ZURI. i’m an independent artist who started making music in 2025. i write, compose, arrange, and produce everything myself, from the first idea to the final track.
i make original music, but i also do utaite-style covers not just to sing them, but to reinterpret them in my own way. both sides are important to me.
i started by posting demos online, and over time people found my music and supported it, which honestly means a lot. i’m still growing and figuring things out, but everything i release comes from a real place.
i keep a faceless presence by choice, i want the music to speak for itself more than anything.
if you listen, thank you fr.

Like the title says, I’ve been a utaite fan for about a month and am looking for recommendations from more experienced fans! My favorites as of now are:
I’ve dabbled around in many of the popular utaites songs too! If you’d like, I’d love to get some recommendations of lesser-known utaites I might not know or songs from any utaite!

Hi everyone! My name is Yoru, and I’m a brand-new utaite who’s just getting started.
I actually created my TikTok and YouTube accounts before my debut, so right now they’re completely new. If you follow now, you’ll be one of my OG supporters before I even upload my very first cover!
My debut will be a full cover on YouTube with an original MV, and I’m putting a lot of effort into making it something I’m proud of. I’ll be creating almost everything myself, including the artwork, video editing, thumbnails, and other visuals. The only thing I’ll be outsourcing is the mixing and mastering of my covers, so I can make sure the audio is the best quality possible.
I’d really appreciate it if you could follow my journey, support me, and share any advice you have for a beginner utaite. Every follow, comment, and bit of encouragement means a lot to me.
Thank you so much, and I hope to see some of you become part of this journey from the very beginning💜
If you’re also a new or aspiring utaite, feel free to let me know! I’d love to support each other, share our progress, exchange advice, and grow together. Starting out can be overwhelming, so it’d be nice to have people on the same journey!

I've been wanting to try becoming an utaite for a while, but I honestly have no idea where to begin. I can't buy a mic or anything right now, and I'm not exactly the most confident in my voice yet, but I really, really want to sing covers.
I'm so inspired by Rachie, Will Stetson, Trickle, and JubyPhonic. I love their work so much, and I'd really like to at least cover a song from each of them someday, using their lyrics, before I branch out a bit
A bit about me:
I'm also interested in multilingual covers! I really enjoy the songs I can sing in Russian and French, and I'm working on some Korean songs from ALIEN STAGE as well. I really enjoy studying pronunciation and lyrics in other languages, which is one of the things that drew me deeper into music.
I also, also like to think I'm pretty good at voice effects, but I honestly have no clue if I am. I'm also, also, also really into Project SEKAI, and I've studied songs to the point where romaji sheets are mostly just gentle reminders, so learning is something I feel pretty confident in.
I'm open to answering any questions anyone has.
Please dear god someone help me ToT >m<
(Final note: I wrote this at like 3am riding a random burst of courage, so I may or may not come back rested and edit things. Not sure yet.)

I’m trying to find a specific male cover of あぁあぁあぁああぁあぁああぁ (AaAaAaAAaAaAAa), I remember the chorus being a little rougher and shouty? Similar to Mi-chan’s cover/style. I can’t find it anywhere and bc of the title it’s kinda difficult to search 💀

Just wanted to post a cover I finished of an INCREDIBLY underrated song.
This was by far the hardest cover I've done to this point, required alot of heavy belting and a fry scream at one point but I'm super proud of how it turned out!

I saw a post on TikTok of saying labelling them as utaites and told me they are considered utaites when I corrected them saying utaites are generally people whose career originated in the cover singing scene , and uploads thru YouTube or niconico douga, but Kanae and Kuzuha’s careers started as gamers/ Vtubers. But maybe it’s different now? From how I’m used to it…what do you guys think? I feel like there’s a difference between internet singer and calling someone an utaite…

Idk if it's just me, but I love listening to utaites and vocaloid music over regular j pop artists. I agree with Ado when she says that she wants people to focus more on the music rather than their faces. Don't get me wrong, I like artists like Imase and Kenshi Yonezu but I'm a visual person so when I listen to music I imagine animated characters singing the music to me, and for me it's easier to visualize it in "cartoon" form rather than real faces. For vocaloid songs, either I do the same thing or I visualize the 3D model of the vocaloid singing the song if that makes sense. I also really enjoy watching the MVs of the songs, my obssession rn is Poltergeist and SPEED (the ending always cracks me up) by Natori. Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk
