Looking to hire upright bassist for studio session

I’m recording a single. It’s an acoustic rockabilly/honky tonk style piece. Need an upright bassist for in-person recording at the studio in Salt Lake. $200.00 to record the bass track. Pretty straightforward song structure. DM me for details.

Nashville -> Utah || Audio Engineer

Just moved here after living in Nashville for 10 years or so. I've got a professional home studio (geared towards mixing) but can also track guitars/bass/ vocals/ keys on premise.

Any local bands out there looking to work with an engineer?

Need an opener?

Anyone know of any bands that need an opener? My band Heavy Petting Zoo (@hpettingzoo on instragram) has played at various locals joints (The DLC, the Grit, backyard shows, etc.) and want to play more. We have been told we sound like a combination of Sonic Youth meets the Strokes meets garage rock. We have been together for about 1.5 years and play all original music! We host local jam nights about every other week. We have set up shop at Sugarhouse park to play. We are looking to play more gigs just for fun, no need for money at all

String Players/String Quartet

Hey utahmusic.
Any string players out there interested in getting together and playing some quartets? I'm a cellist so I'm looking for two violins and a viola to join me. I'm not a professional by any means but I'm looking for folks who are comfortable playing in an ensemble, can read music, are invested in the material and are open to recording and playing concerts. Also, you'd have to be in the SLC area.

I'm mostly interested in 20th century music of a darker/moody flavor. Things like Lutosławski, Gubaidulina, Dutilleux, Lachenmann, Crawford Seeger, Shostokovich, Penderecki, etc...

If any of that resonates with you, let me know!

ISO bassist for country-rock band

Hey folks. We have a lead singer/rhythm guitarist, drummer, and lead guitarist - we’re looking for a bass player. All 3 of us have previously been in moderately popular local country bands and are looking for a bassist to start a new project. The sound we’re shooting for is Turnpike Troubadours but with more acid.

We’re in the late 20s/early 30s age range located near Liberty Park, Salt Lake City, and we’re more so looking for a fun hang as opposed to an amazing bassist - someone who would be down to drink some beers, play some gigs, as well as record and release some original music (we already have a few originals in the chamber). Although if you’re amazing at bass, even better.

If you like Turnpike, Sturgill Simpson, Allman Brothers, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, Billy Strings, the dead, The Eagles, Hank Williams Jr, Zach Top, etc. hit me up and let’s jam!

Mobilizing Utah fans to request a Dexter and the Moonrocks tour date at The State Room / S&S venues!

Hello music lovers,

I've been checking the Dexter and the Moonrocks tour schedules, and Utah is completely left off their upcoming calendar. They played an awesome show at The State Room previously, so we know they have a fanbase here.

If we pool our requests together, we might actually get local promoters' attention and make a Salt Lake stop happen!

How you can help in 60 seconds:

Submit a Request: Drop their name on the contact forms for our local independent promoters: S&S Presents and The State Room Presents.

Comment on Socials:

Drop a quick "Please come back to SLC!" on their social media pages.

If you've never heard of them: They play a really unique mix of alt-rock and country they call "Western Space Grunge."

Check out - "Freakin' Out" on YouTube.

"Ritalin" and "For Once" are also great songs w/ music videos.

Comment if you're down to submit a request so we can send them all in over the next few days and get them back to SLC!

Northern Utah Rap Addition (Open to collabs)

I'm from Michigan originally, lived in Pasadena, Ca and Florence, MT also, but have called Northern Utah home for just over a decade. Got a philosophy degree from USU and since I got myself into trouble as a kid... couldn't use it. I say that to give some background into my rap style, sort of gestalt.

Anyway, hope you enjoy. EP is coming out soon, for now just got a couple singles out. I do all my own stuff, and I hate my own voice so I compensate here and there with clever scratches and production, but if anyone wants to colab I might be down.

Let me know what you think, open to feedback.
