FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How crowded is [insert date here]? OR When is the best date to go?
Everyone has different tolerances for crowds. If you want to know how generally crowded your park of choice might be, https://www.isitpacked.com/ can provide a very simple forecast of crowd levels up to about two months in advance on their crowd calendar.
Of course, a bit of common sense thinking can go a long way here, too. Spend some time thinking about when people are most likely to visit, and your intuition will probably be correct.
For example, the American parks will generally be busier during:
- Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- School breaks, though these are generally spread out over a long time frame since the colleges and local K-12 districts have minute differences in their assigned breaks.
- Spring breaks (mid-March to mid-April)
- Summer breaks (mid-June to mid-August)
- Thanksgiving breaks (entire week of Thanksgiving including the last Thursday of November)
- Winter breaks (mid-December to early January)
- 3-day weekends for mandated federal holidays (yes, the day of the holiday itself will also generally be busier)
If you’re traveling to the Asian parks, take their holidays and school breaks into consideration instead to figure out when to go.
Is Express worth it for [insert date here]?
Everyone has different comfort levels for waits and enjoyment levels for attractions. If you want to know the wait times of attractions, https://www.thrill-data.com/ is a fantastic resource that lets you find historical data and look at charts across hours, weeks, days, and even months. Search for the park you want to view, then change the data date at will. If you want to determine if Express is “worth it” for you, think about how long you’d want to wait for an attraction, compare that to the wait times you see on Thrill Data for recent days and the same time period from the past year, and make a decision for yourself. Express will generally cost $100+ when bought on its own in the parks for the day.
FastPass is not a thing at Universal parks. That was a Disney thing (and it no longer operates there, either). If you’re having trouble finding tips for how to use “Fast Pass” at Universal when searching online, try using the term “Express” instead.
If you’re still on the fence about what is “worth it” to you or not, watch some ride POV videos on YouTube for the attractions you’re interested in that also include the queues. You’ll then be more informed about what experience you’re in for and, after taking the numerical data into consideration, can decide for yourself.
I need to change the date of my ticket; how do I do that? OR I have an issue with the tickets I bought. What should I do?
The folks on Reddit can’t help you with those kinds of questions. You should call the proper support number. Each location has a different phone number for such queries.

For Universal Studios Hollywood inquiries, check here.
Please remember that ANY POSTS OFFERING TO BUY, SELL, OR TRADE TICKETS, PASSES, AND OTHER GOODS WILL BE REMOVED. Giveaways are allowed only after written documented approval is received from the mod team and are subject to be removed if the terms for the approved giveaway do not match the actual giveaway. Thank you for your cooperation.
Can I add Express to my Annual Pass/third-party ticket for the day? OR Can I add Early Access to Super Nintendo World in Hollywood to my Annual Pass/third-party ticket for the day?
YES! If you're an Orlando or Hollywood guest, you should be able to purchase Express using the Universal app of your destination to add to any stored tickets and passes you may have in your Wallet. For Early Access to SNW in Hollywood, you must purchase it online before the date of your intended visit. Be aware that both ticket add-ons are able to sell out, so buy early if you want to secure them.
What is the best food at [insert park here]?
Use the search function. We’ve got a multitude of threads available with a multitude of answers and perspectives (for the American parks, at least. Information on the Asian parks can be difficult to come by). If you’re not sure what food is available at each resort, visit their respective websites to learn more.
For Universal Orlando Resort dining options, check here.
For Universal Studios Hollywood dining options, check here.
In what order should I tackle each ride at [insert park here]?
Use https://www.thrill-data.com/ to see which attractions build up crowds quickly, and try to hit those when they’re not yet at their peak. In the case of Hollywood, for example, guests will generally find that starting in the Lower Lot is more effective (except saving Mario Kart for nighttime). If you’re arriving early, you’re generally better off hitting the attractions that support Express before the people with Express can hit them.
Can I bring [insert item here] to [insert park here]?
Each destination has its own list of banned items visible on its respective website.
For Universal Orlando Resort policies, check here.

I need help with Super Nintendo World in Hollywood!
We’ve got the biggest Megathread on the site! Check here.
The recommended step-by-step for the area strongly differs depending on when you enter the area, the crowd levels in the area at the time, and your personal preferences. Use the search function in the subreddit. We’ve got many threads with a variety of different strategies that have worked to varying degrees of success for you to thumb through.

Orlando Impromptu first time trip i. Aug
Our family including a 10 yr old will be staying on property in august. We plan on hitting the parks 3 days during our 4 day trip. I am concerned with the heat and thunderstorms When we travel we frequently take a break in afternoon to recharge in the hotel then go back out. Usually 2-4ish. Is there any value in doing that at universal? Are evening still really busy. Any thoughts or tips?

Hollywood Is the express pass worth it on 9/11?
Hey y’all I’m going to universal studios on 9/11 Friday. I understand the park will close earlier at 5pm. In this case would the express pass be worth it? I want to take my time looking at city walk, the shops at universal studios, and eat. The rides I want to go on are:
(1)The Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge
(2)Transformers 3D
(3)Jurassic World
(4)Revenge of the Mummy
(5)Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
(6)Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
(7)The Simpsons Ride
(8)DreamWorks Theatre 4k: Kung Fu Panda
(9)Studio Tour
(10)Water World
Thank you in advanced I’m just very indecisive if the passes will be worth it this day considering it’s not a weekend.

Orlando 3 Day Itinerary
We are heading to universal Orlando for spring break in early March- according to the crowd calendars we would be going the week before huge crowds are expected…..but none the less I’m sure it will be pretty packed.
This will be our first trip to Universal 2 adults 3 kids (14,12,11).
Right now we are in budget to do 3 park 2 park days- so all 3 parks. We will definitely do one night at a premier universal hotel for 2 days of express passes for u/ioa - and will either do Drury or Endless summer for the first two nights…….just depending on our budget. We won’t have any extra $$ for express passes for epic however.
With having 3 full days of love to hear any itineraries that worked well for you? Any tips on early entry strategies? Or late night options?
Thank you! 🙏

Hollywood Can I add an Express Pass to both days of “Buy a Day, Get a 2nd Day FREE” deal? (Hollywood)
I’ve researched this and still confused. If I buy the “Buy a Day, Get a 2nd Day FREE” deal, can I add the Express Pass or unlimited Express Pass to both the paid day AND free day once I’m at the park?

Hollywood Can I park for free with my gold pass on a blackout date to go to AMC?
For Universal Studios Hollywood. I am planning to see Doomsday at Universal AMC but it’s on a black out date for my Universal Gold Pass. Do I still have to pay the original amount for parking or is it still free?

Orlando 1 Day in Epic - How to get there, best plan for HTTYD and Nintendo?
My husband and I will spend 1 day at Epic at Universal on Aug 12th and we have Express Passes. How to train your dragon and Nintendo worlds are our priority, with Harry Potter world coming in 3rd. We're fine if we don't make it to the monster world. We're also thinking about taking an Uber from our hotel (outside the park) there and back. I'm wondering about how best to get there and back, what are the best experiences we should prioritize at HTTYD and Nintendo worlds, things we should bring with us, and what order to do things in.
I would appreciate any tips or suggestions on how to maximize our time in order to do the rides and important/popular experiences in one day! Thank you!!

Orlando Which Universal park?
We plan to go to universal in Florida for one day. We have three kids. Two pre teens boys and one 6 year old girl. They aren’t big on roller coasters but I think would enjoy smaller ones and simulators. Which one was your favorite?

Hollywood The Odyssey is now officially a smash. How do we think it fits into the parks?
It feels like it's been a little while since a truly massive blockbuster filmed AT Universal Studios proper. Nope is a great part of the tour, but doesn't quite feel like an iconic movie in the same way something like Psycho is.
Which is what makes The Odyssey so exciting. The studio tour now has the opportunity to do something nobody expected - become relevant to the wider Universal Studios brand. With Supercharged in the grave, it's time for a new finale. And I think they've perfectly landed on a movie people want to see in person.
They should reconstruct damn near the whole fucking film back there if they've got room. The classic sword & sandals look is timeless, and The Odyssey is the sort of billion dollar movie people are going to watch for generations. Just imagine driving through the fall of Troy, or being chased by giants. Blend those classic water effects with the screen - get the bus on the boat as it flees the Cyclops.
People love the myth making around Nolan as a filmmaker - he's the precise thing this attraction needs.
- Signed,
A dork who loves the studio tour

Japan Question: Which part of 2027 would be a good time to travel to USJ for their anime Collaboration events?
I’m planning a trip to Japan in 2027 but I want to experience some new anime Collaboration events in USJ 2027. Which months of 2027 would be the best time to travel for experiencing some anime Collaboration events like Sailor Moon in USJ?

Singapore I played real-life geo guesser at Universal Studios Singapore
For those of you familiar with the US parks you might notice some buildings and structures around that are pretty familiar. Figured this was a silly game I could play at my home Universal park, a mere 8-hour flight away from home.

Orlando Trip planning -- ECVs
We're planning our next trip to Universal Orlando next February. Looking forward to exploring Epic Universe. My wife needs an ECV. Is it a safe assumption that Epic has the rental place right close to the entrance, like the other two parks do?
I'll also be looking for advice on rides; she cannot do roller coasters or any of the "motion" rides with a big screen and a car that moves around too much. For example at the other place, Star tours bad, MMRR good.
