Admissions Late Transcript Scary Situation
I just realized that the deadline for UW to receive the Final Transcript was July 15th, last wednesday. I was under the impression that my highschool would send the transcript automatically because thats what they did for mid year reports but i was terribly mistaken. Turns out you had to submit a final transcript request way back in May with the deadline for that being May 31st. I contacted UW admissions and they said to reply to the missing transcript email with an explanation of my situation, while telling me that they are pretty flexible. Im shit scared and dont know what to do, because I dont know how to send the transcript myself. As far as im concerned only my school can do it and the counseling office doesnt open up again until mid august, so I have to wait until then just for my transcript to be sent. I dont know what to do at this point im just hoping my school does something soon.

Discussion MSME and MAE Online Competitiveness and Class Difficulty?
Going to be applying for the MSME online and MAE online programs for the upcoming winter quarter. How competitive are admissions and how difficult is the course load. I am an entry level engineer working for a defense prime right now and I would be on the east coast. Thanks.

Discussion Yugo Wilsonian experience?
Is there anyone who currently lives in the Yugo Wilsonian apartment building in U district who would be willing to share about their experience? My partner and I are debating moving into a one bedroom there. I'm aware of the reviews, but the price for the space and proximity to UW are unbeatable.

Clubs & RSOs Any other RSOs interested in contributing zines to a collaborative UW Clubs Zines table at the Seattle Zine Fest this Sunday?
Myself and some others have been putting together a collaboration of UW RSOs offering their zines for free at the Seattle Zine Fair this Sunday. So far, we will be offering zines from the Student Mycology Club and Viable Veganism at UW (soon to be rebranded) and we hope to have more clubs partner with us so we can offer their zines too. DM or comment if your club/RSO is interested in having copies of their zines given out at the event!

New Student Class questions
Im going into the college of arts and science as a freshman this year as a pre social science student and I’ve gotten the rsn and NSc credits required, at least I think, to meet graduation requirements from ap’s (calc 124, physics 114/117, chem 142/152, stat 290, and cse 110) and I was wondering if i need to take any other rsn classes afterwards such as math 125 or 208 for example or if im good. I was also wondering if you guys had any recommendations for good classes to start off with as a freshman as I’ve had a hard time choosing since there seems to be infinite options. Thank you!

Discussion Pre-science Major
When I applied to UW, I applied requesting a CS major. A couple of months ago, when I got admitted, I got the news that I didn't get my major, and it was only a pre-science major. I've seen some of the vague comments on the major, such as "if you got it js go to a different major" or "go to a community college first". I'm asking now since I have a sense of interest in pursuing an engineering major, is it possible to request classes leading up/the prereqs for engineering or do I have to be directly admitted to engineering first? I'm so lost about what to take for my schedule and having the A&O meetings coming up, it is not helping at all. Am i just bound to be a blank slate till junior year?
>>> Greatly appreciate more info on the major itself if possible (The websites from UW don't say much)
>>>I am an incoming freshman to UW Seattle

Housing drs housing assignment question
hi!
i was given housing accommodations for the dorms and throughout my process i was told through email multiple times that both me and my roommate would be assigned and not need to go through the selection process (my roommate does not have accommodations).
I was assigned to a room with my accommodations but not paired with my intended roommate. It says i am paired with a tracer w.
i was wondering if this is a placeholder/filler and i will be able to pair with my roommate or how i should go about this if not?
thanks!

Discussion Free parking near campus
Hey,
I'm visiting UW to meet with some people for a program I'm considering applying to. I'll be driving down from Canada and bringing my bike. Is there a good place to park for free that's relatively safe, where I can bike to campus (ideally within a ~30-minute ride)? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Discussion Terry Hall
my roommate and i were able to get a double in terry hall on the 5th floor after some initial housing problems and i’ve seen a lot of stuff saying that terry is like the worst hall to live in socially and that the distance from campus is not worth it. (a lot of my classes are at or around kane hall) is it really that bad or will we be fine?

Housing North Campus Room Search
Hi guys! As an incoming freshman, this housing process has been incredibly difficult for my 2 friends and I, as I'm sure it's been hard on everyone else. I was able to get a room in Spratlen, but my 2 friends are together in a room in Oliver. We went through the entire roommate group and priority housing process and got separated.
The third girl in their room does not want to switch places with me, so we are having to find new people to swap with entirely. If anyone has any ideas or can be of some help that would be so so GREATLY appreciated.
This is so stressful and my intended roommates and I want a triple regular or triple suite on North Campus. #toostressedouttothinkofafunnyhashtag

Discussion is a&o day 2 mandatory?
wondering if students also have to attend day 2, given that the FAQ says the family orientation is optional (for family members) (and there will also be a recording).
It is two consecutive all nighters for me so it would be great if I dont have to attend the second one.
STUDENT A&O PART 2 SESSION: FIRST-YEAR
Day 1: Wednesday, July 22 / 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time
Day 2: Thursday, July 23 / 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
FAMILY ORIENTATION SESSION:
Thursday, July 23 / 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
\Family Orientation is intended for parents and supporters of incoming first-year and transfer students. Students should attend their scheduled A&O session listed above.*

Discussion What is your cutoff for choosing between U District vs University of Washington (Montlake) light rail stations?
Lately, I’ve been working from suzzallo allen and have been walking to montlake when going home. But I noticed that Google Maps says I should go to U District station (it says it’s faster). If I’m working from foster business library it’s definitely faster to go to U District station though.

Discussion MSW professors for first quarter recs?
I start my first quarter of my masters program for social work in August. My registration is today and I heard that some of the sections are really competitive to get into because of the more sought after professors. I tried looking up on Rate My Professors but none of the names come up.
Does anyone have any specific professors they think I should try for? Professors to avoid?
The classes are: SOC W 500, 501, 504, 510, 524
Thank you!!!

New Student Switching Majors
Hi! So I am an incoming freshman who is a pre-science major. I want to enter the STEM field in the future and am interested in BioE. I heard that getting into an engineering major is hard and impossible. What can I do to increase my chances? And has anyone succeeded in getting in? Also, is it worth trying to switch over in the future?

Dorm Life Experiences in Stevens Court 6 person?
I’m an incoming sophmore and am forming with my freshman year Roomate and her friend + three random Roomate’s in the fall. We’ve all zoomed at least once before the end of spring 26 but it was quick and not really a lot happened.
I was hoping to hear from some people who have lived in Stevens court as a 6 person. How did you and your Roomates talk about chores? How did the bathroom work? What did people coming over look like? Bonus: if one of your Roomates had an animal in the dorm, what boundaries did they set with the other roommates?
Thanks!!
