Discord Server for all EUR students

I've seen a bunch of different people create different WhatsApp groups and discord servers for EUR but it's always a different one so if you're interested, here's the link to one that I created, which hopefully, with the help of this reddit we can use as the unofficial official place to chat amongst ourselves : https://discord.gg/ZZcctP4Pdb
At the moment it's completely barebones because I just want to see if anyone is even interested but if a couple people join, then I'll be sure to make it more complete.

double bachelor econometrics and economics vs single bachelor econometrics

Are there any benefits of doing the double bachelor econometrics and economics instead of just the single bachelor econometrics, in terms of getting good masters and internships? And how would doing the double bachelor impact my gpa compared to the single?

How strict is attendance?

I am going to study IBEB and I’m wondering how strict attendance is since there isn’t much holiday during the school year.

IBEB grade conversion

Hi! I'm applying to IBEB next year as an international student from Brazil and I have a few questions about how my GPA will be evaluated and if I have chances of being admitted:

Does anyone know if they simply calculate the average of the grades, or do they calculate it using specific subjects? In my school we also have elective subjects, are those usually included in the GPA calculation?

I'm finishing high school with a final average around 8.7/10, which puts me roughly in the 5% of the school, but I have no idea how Erasmus compares Brazilian grades with other education systems.

If anyone could answer some of my doubts, I'd really appreciate it!

Is there still affordable rooms available?

I’m first year bachelor student and I’m still looking for housing.

In what platforms I can still find rooms for rent? My budget is around 900.

Available room in The Social Hub

I have a reservation at the Social Hub but I am no longer going to study in Rotterdam The residence allows a change of name on the contract so the room can be transferred to another student. I am not asking for any money as the deposit is paid directly to the Social Hub, and it is possible to register with the municipality (i.e. it is all legit!)
It is a Deluxe Queen room available from 1/9/2026 to 31/01/2026 and the total price is € 7,897.92.
Please get in touch ASAP.

How long does it usually take for Admissions to process/confirm hard copies? (IBCoM)

Hey everyone,

I'm an incoming international student from Vietnam for the IBCoM program. Like many of you, my offer is conditional upon submitting the certified hard copies of my high school diploma and final grades.

I sent my physical documents via DHL last week. According to the tracking, the package was successfully delivered to the Admissions Office by DHL last Friday (July 10).

I sent them a quick email on the delivery day to confirm, and just did a gentle follow-up today, but it’s been complete radio silence. My application portal hasn't updated to reflect the received documents either.

Since the final deadline is August 1st, I'm getting a bit anxious. Has anyone else sent physical documents to Erasmus University Rotterdam recently?

Hi, my name is Kostadin and I am an international student coming from Bulgaria. I am enrolled in the IBEB program and will be moving to Rotterdam for the start of the school year. I have yet to have any luck with accommodation although I have been contacting landlords through various platforms like kamernet, rooms, Facebook. If anyone has any advice or even better, a free room I would love to get in contact and get to know each other.

Maritime and Transport Law master's

What are your opinions about the Maritime and Transport Law master's program? How are the courses, is the workload heavy? Also, is it easy for an EU student to find a room and a part-time job in Rotterdam?

Erasmus Gym

If current students, alumni, or anyone else has any input it would really help.

Im planning on joining the gym once I attend the university this year but am stuck on choosing a regular gym membership or a membership with the on campus gym/sport facilities. Would you guys say the gym on campus is too crowded or would it be worth it considering all the other perks and access you have? Or would you rather have gotten a regular gym membership instead?

thanksss

Mvv signature

I am applying mvv through university immigration team I signed three documents study monitor, antecedent, and general term. They told me my signature don’t match the one on my passport. The signature on my passport includes both original language and English of my name but I only signed English because there was a line under antecedents document instructed me to only include my English name . So I wonder whether should I sign in English or both. I have contacted eur but they haven’t responded yet I don’t know what to do as deadline for mvv is approaching. Is there anyone who also applied for mvv how do you guys sign???

Laptop recommendations for incoming Econometrics & Economics student

Hi everyone,

I’m starting the Double Bachelor’s in Econometrics and Economics next academic year, and I’m trying to decide which laptop to buy before the semester starts.

I would really like to get a MacBook, but I’ve seen a few people online saying that Windows laptops are a better choice for econometrics because of software compatibility. I’ve also been looking at Lenovo ThinkPads.

For those of you in the programme (or who have already graduated):
Did you use a Mac or Windows laptop?
Did you run into any issues with software or assignments?
Would you recommend one over the other?
if you were starting again today, what would you buy?

I’d rather buy one laptop that will last me my entire degree, so I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Slightly short on Ects requirements for Msc Econometrics

Hello everyone! I aim to apply for admission to Msc Econometrics at uErasmus next year, thing is I am kind of worried about admission, I fulfil all Ects except 16 ects on Operations Research and 8 in programming. I think I know the answer but wanted to ask here, is it strictly rejection in such cases? Thanks in advance

Planning on studying at EUR

I'm thinking about applying for IBEB at EUR for next year. Is the program actually worth it? If anyone is studying there, I'd love to know what to expect and if you have any tips, thanks

IBEB Graduates Job Prospect

For those that have completed the IBEB course from EUR, how were your job prospects after graduation? This question is more specially targeted to international students. Were you able to find good jobs after bachelors or were you forced to do a masters as well?
