Sometimes when she doesn't want to fully bask she will hang and bask at a distance! Zooming out does a lot of justice on how silly she looks too.

Don't worry she can 100% climb the ramp, but moments like this reminds me of how this stunted girl likes to larp as a circus performer. Alright back to cleaning the tank I go.

This fall I'll be digging a massive multi-tiered pond, thought it would be fun to raise all of my inhabitants from hatchlings until they're old enough to graduate to the pond. Excited about these grow out tubs.

Seeking Advice Too fast of growth?

I rescued a red eared slider turtle from a bag of crawfish about 4 months ago. At the time, it was about (or less than) 1 inch. Now, it’s measuring 3 inches from tip-to-tip shell in 4 months. Is that too fast of growth? Here are the details of his tank and eating habits:

- 50 gallons
- UVA and UVB with 2 basking platforms
- Water heater at 78°
- Eats once a day and the amount that would fit in its head.
- Eats a mix of pellets and veggies. Currently switching from hatchling food to juvenile
- Has a Fluval 407 filter

His old set up was a 30 gallon. He has been upgraded to a 75 gallon. His basking platform was also doubled in length as he was running out of room. Switched from a crappy turtle filter to a Vevor canister filter rated for 200-250 gallons at 528GPH. Upgraded is deep double dome light to a t5 5.0 UVB light and a basking dome with a 75W. I kept the same brand of heater and lighting, just ordered the larger sizes. Swapped from river pebbles to black blasting sand i got at tractor supply and added more plants. They are zip tied down to egg crate i buried under the sand to keep him from ripping them up. He seems happy.

Had to share this video of my yellow-bellied slider climbing her scrub brush then the result. Watch to the end to see her "slide".

I’m convinced this turtle actually enjoys tv. She only gets into this position when I’m watching reality tv like love island or in this case, The Ultimatum. She’s such a girly girl. ♥️

Seeking Advice White spot on scutes has grown since appearing. Help please!

This is my Eastern Painted Turtle, Roaders. We don't know how old she is and have owned her about 10 years, but she just recently got a heat bulb and a complete water change this year. I am working on getting a UVB bulb.

I asked about this in the subreddit earlier, but did not really get any views. It's grown in size since appearing about a month ago, it's not fuzzy or soft like shell rot would be, same consistency as the rest of her scutes. It's slightly sunk in though? It doesn't seem to be bothering her behavior wise either.

Please please help me figure out what this is and what I can do to fix it!!

Seeking Advice Female Adult Red Eared Sliders won't eat greens....

I have 3 female adult red eared sliders. They each have shell length of 9 inches to 10 inches. They are all 23 years old. Throughout their whole life, I only ever fed them Tetra Reptomin Floating sticks. I've been a lazy owner so i never paid attention to their health or nutrition.

But this year, I decided to pay more attention. I read that the RES at this age should be 20% floating sticks and 80% leafy greens.

This week, I tried giving them lettuce and also the dandelion weeds. But all they do is chew it up and spit it back out, so then it's just shredded bits of green everywhere .

They will eat carrots, banana, and apple. But i read these should be "snacks/treat", like the way humans would eat candy...just as a small dessert.

I'm not sure how to get my RES to eat anything green.

Should i just go back to just floating sticks?

Seeking Advice My friends dad has this turtle the poor guy seems so unhappy. I think he needs more entrenchment. I know absolutely nothing about turtles if anyone could offer me any advice on how I can help him I’d be really really grateful ! <3

Every-time I walk into the room he’s in he tries really hard to swim up to me against his glass I think he’s bored in there! I think the owner said he was a guy but again I don’t know what I’m talking about here 😂. I don’t really have any funds to buy him much but I can search second hand and I’m happy to make him anything you think could be helpful (I know I’ll have to be really careful with that and sterilise things first ). If anyone could try to help me identify his breed I’d be really grateful so then I can do some research on their needs. I’m happy to take any more photos that might be needed and I can take more photos of the setup if you think that could be helpful. I’ll reply in the comments with anymore photos people recommend. Thank you all so much :)x

Seeking Advice Having trouble finding a 80-90 tank :(

Trying to upgrade the setup for my little guy, problem is that im having SO MUCH TROUBLE finding a tank the size I would prefer! The minimum for his species (reeves) is 75 to my knowledge, but I want to get him something above that if possible because I want him to be as comfy as I can make him. I've been looking online and all I can find is 75 gall or bigger tanks with a stand, which I dont need. Does anyone know where I can look for a tank around that size? Thanks so much!

Seeking Advice Turtle Tank Water

I’m creating a much larger area for my turtle and the easiest option now is to fill with a hose from outside rather than from an indoor faucet setup I made using some large tubing and clamps. Would I need to treat the water any different besides the basic water conditioner for aquatic tanks? Thanks for any information in advance

Seeking Advice Adding a foam 3d background but making it removeable?

Looking to find a way to add a 3d background to my turtles new tank but would like it to be removeable so it can be cleaned. I have used silicone in one before but always worry about dead water behind it. Any ideas?

Seeking Advice How should I upgrade my turtles tank(he is by the rocks at the bottom btw)

I have a bigger basking platform( he refuses to
Fully get out the water to bask so I had to compromise I asked a vet near the area it says turtle can actually recieve light underwater for their shells) on the way but idk if it’s enough and I also don’t want to affect the amount of space he has already as he is an active swimmer I gave 2 bushes in the back comer where he hides. He sleeps on the submerged part of his basking platform every time I turn the lights off in my room my led lights make it seem like nighttime
