has anyone else noticed them taking away / moving beavers inside? i work on a street with a few beavers on my way to work, and noticed that some weren't outside anymore. i thought the quest was until august 16th, is it still like that? i only found 32 out of the 51 beavers and wanted to see them all before they were removed </3

CHUM-FM Toronto has formally updated its status to Canada-Main AC, or simply AC (Adult Contemporary). This change brings a softer, more gentle-pop-oriented & throwback approach, with less emphasis on Top 40 hits. Chum’s playlist now aligning more closely with 98.1 CHFI, and less competitive with 99.9 Virgin radio and Kiss 92.5 which still focus on today’s hottest hits.
This transition reflects the ongoing structural pivot under Program Director Christian Hall and Music Director Kelsey Lehman, officially dropping the station's long-held Hot AC tracking status.

Dropping the Hot AC designation after more than 40 years is a massive pivot for 104.5, especially coming right on the heels of Marilyn Denis stepping down from mornings and Nat & Josie taking over the airwaves. It sounds like Bell Media is executing a complete strategic repositioning for the station behind the scenes. Thoughts on this switch?

Walking around Toronto today and came across this taped to a tree stump.
Apparently a New Jersey car got towed after collecting three parking tickets, and someone decided to leave this message.

The cutoff for the extremely biased survey is July 24th. If you meant to do it, but it slipped your mind, this is your reminder to have your say.

I think if you ask people if they’d like to be able to occasionally fly into the Island airport from a trip to Europe, many would say sure.

If you ask if Canadians want their tax dollars going to an unnecessary airport extension instead of public healthcare and education so that an American investment firm can make a huge profit, most would say no.

The survey being open to global feedback regarding a community airport is being pushed through with little information given. Experts are warning about the noise and pollution that jets every 2.5 mins would cause, resulting in damage to the environment, and physical and mental health of nearby communities. This would do massive damage to the Toronto Island and newly developed Harbourfront and Portlands. Increased traffic (from millions of people arriving and departing daily) would make commuting for those who live outside of the city and drive in for work a nightmare.

The city has said no, but the provincial and federal governments have the power to ignore that do what they want. If this happens to a major city, it’ll set even more of a precedent for government overreach everywhere else.

The man gesturing by the pump is the gas station owner, Neil Shepherd, arguing with a Toronto Star reporter after announcing they wouldn't refuel Soviet-made Ladas due to the invasion of Afghanistan. Ladas were actually quite popular in Canada back then because they were incredibly cheap, leading to surreal local standoffs like this.
