Seeing the B-Team Bike Club roll past my house last night has me wondering. At the moment, I'm too slow for the regular Toledo Area Bicyclists club rides. Not being on Meta's platforms makes this info hard to find.

We're planning on driving down from Detroit and parking at the Amtrak parking lot right next to the station. I can't figure out how to pre-book parking because Amtrak keeps sending me to spot hero but spot hero doesn't manage that parking lot apparently? Is anyone familiar with that parking lot?

I recently rescued two kittens (last night). I suspect they aren’t older than 2-3 months. I was curious if there were any resources for free/cheap vet help and care.

We (my roommates and I) got them food, litter, and a few toys. I just wanted to see as far as vet experiences, vaccines, flea treatments, spaying and stuff of that nature if there were any resources someone could provide?

I have an interview with them next week and a drug screen is required. Are they gonna watch me?
Yes, drugs are bad. It’s not a normal, everyday thing. It’s just pot but still, I know it will be a part of the screen. Tia.

My fiancé asked me to help her find a stylist for our wedding this October, and wanted to see if anyone here may have some names in mind.

I visited an indoor mini golf course in or before 2007. It was in Maumee or South Toledo in a shopping plaza. I remember it being really fun and colorful. Does anyone remember where exactly it was or have any pictures? It’s hard to find anything about it because of the similarly named Golf Galaxy, but I swear years ago I did find an address and phone number.

Due to the cyclosporiasis parasite potentially being in leafy greens and berries, our household has not bought any produce from the grocery store in fear of shitting our brains out. This is both not healthy and very sad as I love berries. Are there any local farmers who grow berries? specifically raspberries and blueberries since they're in season right now. I trust locally grown product more than anything else and also want to support the local economy.

• On Monday, Toledo-based U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Helmick granted a preliminary injunction in favor of ten hemp companies challenging the Constitutionality of Senate Bill 56 (SB56), a state law tightening restrictions on marijuana and hemp passed in 2025. The injunction prevents the state from enforcing SB56's provisions against the sale, distribution, or consumption of hemp products made outside of Ohio.

• On Tuesday, Toledo City Council voted 8-2 in favor of removing the honorary designation of “Msgr. Jerome Schmit Way” on a portion of St. Clair Street from Washington to Monroe Street, with Hobbs and Williams dissenting and Jones and Kramer absent. Council also voted to place a 0.25% income tax increase levy dedicated to public safety on the November general election ballot, along with three separate charter amendments: one allowing Toledo City Council to hire and manage its own employees, another to clarifying the charter amendment process, and a third create rules for write-in candidates.

• Also on Tuesday, the Toledo Public Schools (TPS) board voted to seek placing a 6.9-mill property tax levy on the November general election ballot. If approved, the levy would should bring the district $22.8 million annually for the next five years, preventing the district from engaging in deficit spending through 2030.

• In further Tuesday news, the Lucas County Commissioners approved placing a 3.0-mill property tax levy for the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library on the November general election ballot. If approved, the levy would generate $34 million in annual revenue for the library system for five years. Commissioners also approved placing a 0.17-mill property tax levy for the Imagination Station on the same ballot which would generate $1.35 million in annual revenue for the science center if approved.

• On Thursday, it was announced that the Zepf Center would receive two grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service. The local mental health agency's Homeless Outreach and Person-centered Engagement project will receive $500,000 while their behavioral health clinic will receive $1 million.

• The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department has condemned multiple units at the Oakwood Townhomes and Villas complex following inspections conducted after receiving complaints about living conditions. The inspectors found no heat, leaking AC units, and melted electrical outlets, deeming the properties a significant health risk.

• The Lucas County Prosecutor's Office is expanding the scope of its Conviction Integrity Unit to allow referrals from attorneys who believe their client may have been wrongly convicted. First established in 2024, the unit reviews past convictions for credible claims of actual innocence supported by new evidence.

• Agenda Sports Bar on Matzinger Road is reopening after being shut down for a year by the City of Toledo for being a nuisance business after a July 2025 shooting outside the bar killed two and injured two others. An Ohio Court of Appeals decision found that while the bar was closed in July 2025 and the Toledo Municipal Court affirmed the closure in October 2025, the business could not be ordered closed for more than one year, allowing it to reopen in July 2026 rather than October 2026.

• Toledo Schools for the Arts released a statement stating that while they are considering connecting their security camera feed to Toledo Police, they do not plan to install Flock cameras or connect their camera feed to Flock's nationwide mass surveillance database through Toledo Police's contract.

• This Saturday (July 18) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Imagination Station (1 Discovery Way) will offer free admission. Movies in the KeyBank Discovery Theater are not included in admission.

I'm hoping someone knows someone or has a lead we can use. We live in East Toledo. Because of the heat and rain this year, we are inundated with fleas. We've fogged. We've treated the animals. We've done the sprays, the dust with the vacuums. We've repeated things once a week. Nothing is helping.

They're biting, we're getting allergic reactions and rashes. One of us is in a wheelchair with amputation/pressure wounds, another just had a hip replacement, I myself am on infusions and immunocompromised. We're scared of infections or delayed wound healing if we can't get this under control.

Unfortunately, we're all disabled and on extremely limited incomes. Every company I look up requires you to pay for months in advance, or sign up to recurring visits. We don't mind paying for extra visits, but we have to schedule them when we all get paid, and pay then... we don't have the extra funds to prepay for all visits in advance like that.

Is there ANY company in Toledo that we can call that will work with us to get an initial treatment done, and then come out again if we need it once we get paid again and have the funds to schedule another visit? Or even an affordable product you've used and can vouch that it's worked this year on these blasted things? At this point, we're getting desperate.

So I already take my cats to a vet (West Toledo animal hospital) but I've only ever had to go for yearly check ups and now I need to take my girl for possible issues and I'm worried about the price. I've gathered that my vet is very expensive after taking to a few people. They wanted to charge $1000 for my cats teeth cleaning with a pre-screening blood test. Seemed excessive. Any recommendations for something more reasonable?
