Other the alliance lwk makes no sense?

i think im quite late for this conversation but yeah. they were fighting for the freedom of their people since day 1, the world hated them, if the world had the power paradis had, they wouldn't think twice before exterminating the island and they (aliance) knew that.

everyone knows eren should've just killed 100% of the population outside the walls because that's what makes sense when it comes to his character (not a hot take), so why wouldn't they (his friends) support his decision? "genocide is bad" yeah no shit sherlock but guess what? the world fucking hates all of you and if y'all don't kill them then they will later kill you (and that's exactly what happens lol). so what? is it just about their morals? or they really thought they could convice the world with a simple conversation? im genuinelly confused about this. ofc genocide is not the answer in a general point of view, but when it came to paradis freedom, was there really another way? did the alliance even stop for a sec to think about this?

see, i get that aot is not a black and white kind of story, and i really enjoy the nuances of the "bad" and "good" characters, at the end, humans can be both, but an extremism decision actually makes sense when it comes to eren's urge of freedom, that was his mindset since the start, from "killing all of the titans" to "if we kill all our enemies, will we finally be free?"

plus on 139 they fucking thank eren for the genocide and start glazing him so why didn't they just support him from the start lmaoooo like what was the point of trying to stop him then? im sorry that just doesn't make any sense to me

according to a recent interview (not that recent) isayama said falco forgot he confessed to gabi because he became a shifter (kinda like how eren forgot grisha turning him into a titan until years later )

Other Paradis being able to thrive for thousands of years post rumbling is the most unrealistic part

When Willy Tybur declare the war as the ambassador of Marley and when Eren attack Liberio the war wasn't just Marley vs Paradis anymore it was now The world vs Paradis

The problem here is now the world have legit justified reasons to exterminate Paradis island because when Eren did the rumbling the main reason why the world started the war to prevent from happening in the first place actually happens. Eren killed 80% of the world from the rumbling. That means 20% of the world not being destroy meant an entire continent (America) is left untouched by the rumbling. Paradis is also defenceless without the walls, the power of titans, manpower and technology.

The ending is unironically pro genocide because if its message was to be anti genocide than Paradis would've been destroyed within a month or year at most to show that Genociding your enemies as a short term solution is the wrong choice

Other 3 changes that I feel would fix the final season

Here goes, they are directional changes so they aren’t small, but I don’t think the story is unsalvageable. Just wanted to share and maybe it will help some other people consider their opinions.
#1 No alliance. Characters should stand against Eren’s plan, but not like, all of them. It’s too convenient and robs us of moral drama.
#2 Rumbling succeeds. This kind of follows #1. The Rumbling has been roughly foreshadowed since season 1, let us see the sacrifices our characters make in order see it through or try and stop it. Now you don’t need to give everyone Marvel plot armor. Death is going to be a natural outcome here.
#3 Post-Rumbling arc. We never really have to live with Eren’s actions in the final season. Once The Rumbling concludes, the plot wraps up quickly. If there was an epilogue arc, even if it was short, we could have time to sit with the consequences. Who are the survivors? Do they regret their choices? Is there lasting peace? There’s certainly room for one final twist to end the story on, but it isn’t entirely necessary.
I believe these couple changes in direction could’ve allowed for dramatic conflict and an ambiguous ending without feeling rushed or overly contrived.

Other So far, how do you guys feel about the ending?

The Attack on Titan anime ended two years ago. After two years, have your opinions on the ending changed at all, or do they remain the same? Do you guys still hate it, love it, accept it, or feel neutral about it?

Other The full rumbling was a literally perfect solution, in a sense.

In a way, a full rumbling removed all of the problems that Paradis was facing in 854, and I think many AoT fans don’t really give it much thought. A full rumbling absolutely subverts the whole situation for obvious reasons, and could’ve been the ultimate ā€œanti-King Fritzā€ moment of Eldian history.

  1. It removes all threats to Paradis.
  2. It simultaneously acts like one huge conquest because it leaves only one state in the world
  3. Despite devastating the surface, it secures all subterranean resources for Paradis.
  4. Removes the problem of insufficiently fast modernization
  5. It places Paradis and its people back into a position of ā€œhumanityā€, just like at the start of AoT.

One argument I keep seeing is that there would be some kind of internal violence among Eldians if the rumbling actually succeeded, but I see an issue with this:

The people of Paradis have already spent a whole century inside the walls sincerely believing they were the only ones left, and yet they did not descend into large-scale internal violence (a civil war).

Arguably one could say that the founder and attack titan ended up in the wrong hands, because Eren not only ended up absolutely fucking up the chance he got, he made it worse and judging from the last panels of the manga doomed Paradis and its people to destruction, all so that his friends could’ve become ā€œheroesā€ or smth like that, when he could’ve carried it through and avoid the need for them to become heroes all together.
