Revisiting this project where I tried to blend together what are my favourite remixes & dancefloor edits of tracks from the XX & Jamie XX catalogue as my contribution back to a musical universe that has always kept me hooked. It was my first attempt at making a DJ mix but reflecting on it, I thought it goes smoothly. The consistency of Romy & Oliver being the only vocals adds to the mood I think too. Thoughts welcome 🤗

A performance from the Open'er Festival will be broadcast live today at 10:00 PM on the Polish TV channel TVP Kultura and online via TVP VOD The XX in Poland

They brought two over to us up front after the set and someone grabbed one right out of our hands the second it landed. Respect the hustle I guess, still a bit annoyed though. Walked away with the other one, crew notes scribbled on it and everything.

Audio-reactive visual for The xx’s “Angels,” created in Cinema 4D.

This animation was built around a minimal radial system using cloned floral geometry, circular repetition, and slow camera movement. I used audio-reactive animation to drive subtle changes in scale, rotation, and motion intensity, keeping the response restrained to match the track's softness.

The visual language focuses on repetition, spacing, muted color variation, and gradual movement rather than fast cuts or heavy effects. The goal was to create a system that feels quiet and atmospheric while still responding to the song's rhythm and emotional pacing.

Techniques used:
Cinema 4D cloner systems, radial composition, audio-driven movement, procedural repetition, scale animation, rotation offsets, camera movement, color variation, and final editing/compositing.

Google is providing no results so I thought I'd come here to ask this because it's such a specific issue. I recently purchased their debut cd (already had the other two, somehow I never bought their first one) and was going to rip it using a new macbook, but with an older apple superdrive (external / usb cd dvd drive). The superdrive tries to read it for about 10-15 seconds, and then immediately spits it out. I exchanged it for a new copy (amazon) and it did the same thing with the replacement.

Anyone have this same or similar experience with their first cd?

I have seen more than 10 different live sets from them on YouTube from the early days until 2026 and their best performance and best setlis still remains GB 2013! utterly brilliant!

Showed up the first couple shows of tour then has disappeared since, replaced by Treat Each Other Right. Really surprised they aren’t playing this more since it’s essentially the only new band material since I See You. Wonder if it’s not translating live how they’d like. Would love to see it live (though don’t wanna be entitled about it!)
