I’m needing some outside thoughts on this as I’m not sure what to do in this situation.
I have a 2007 Toyota Auris where the transmission is failing. I replaced the front suspension in January, and the rear suspension needs doing again next January. All up, the repairs over a 12 month period were estimated to cost $5,500, and the car was only insured for about that much. The upholstery in the front drivers seat is also starting to tear.
I’m gutted that it’s having all these issues as it’s been a great little car for the 10 years that I’ve had it. Other than the issues above, the car is still in great condition.
My mum & MIL have suggested I sell the car “as is where is” now that I’ve bought a new car, but my partner reckons I’ll have issues selling it and should scrap it instead.
So, redditors, what would you do in this situation?
