These two shows were huge in the 90s. I'm surprised they haven't been brought back through revivals. There's been an X Files revival. There's been revivals of all these 90s things. But not Xena or Hercules.

I mean, I get why Hercules The Legendary Journeys hasn't been brought back. Kevin Sorbo is too busy being MAGA and a Jesus freak. But what is about Xena? Xena still has a huge fan base.

Prime officially cancelled Gen V, and it just feels like a genuinely unfair way for this show to go out. It already had an actual real-world tragedy behind it, and it was doing something interesting with The Boys universe instead of just being a spinoff cash grab.

Feels like it never really got a fair shot to find its full audience, given everything working against it.

I've always been a huge crime genre fan, and I know I'm not the only one.

One thing that disappoints me is how shows like Money Heist get so much praise. To me, it feels like the actual crime is only a small part of the story, while most of the runtime is spent on personal drama, romance, and conflicts within the group. That's fine if that's what people enjoy, but it's not what I look for in a crime show.

Shows like Narcos felt much closer to what I want: large criminal organizations, logistics, strategy, corruption, law enforcement, money laundering, politics, and the sheer scale of organized crime. The problem is that Narcos is largely about the drug wars of the '80s and '90s.

It makes me wonder: could we eventually get modern crime shows, maybe even years from now, that focus on today's global criminal networks?

There are so many fascinating (and disturbing) subjects that barely get explored in scripted TV:

• Human trafficking across international migration routes.
• Scam compounds and cybercrime networks operating in places like Cambodia and Myanmar.
• Modern money laundering.
• International smuggling operations.
• Illegal mining, wildlife trafficking, counterfeit goods, and other massive criminal enterprises.

I'm not talking about any one specific crime. I just mean stories that really dive into how modern organized crime works instead of making it mostly about the characters' love lives.

Do you think we'll eventually see crime shows that do for today's criminal world what Narcos did for the Medellín and Cali cartels? Or is this kind of subject just too difficult, risky, or expensive to make into prestige TV? And lastly, what would you suggest to someone who just completed watching Narcos and Narcos: Mexico?

The same way they did with Gilmore Girls. What a huge hit that old show became!

Alex Mack was shot on film, so if they rescanned it for HD and released all four seasons, and pushed it, it would 100% become a huge hit.

Then get the original cast and writers back for an epic fifth season, 8 episodes or something. It could become the next Stranger Things.

I know the creators and a lot of the cast keep trying to bring this show back, and I think there’s a reason for it. The story of this show as it progressed became so incredibly dark and fascinating that it ended almost abruptly. It matured beyond Nickelodeon’s capabilities.

Alex as an adult and whatever her life is like how lends to a WORLD of possibilities. Great sci-fi.

Anyone else gonna check it out? If I hadn't already seen the trailer and didn't already know the characters I would have no idea it was a big bang theory spin off. I originally thought the spin off was going to be about Stuart working day to day in the comic book store occasionally encountering big bang characters. Never expected any multiverse shenanigans.

We finished watching the season last night, and we were both totally hooked from the get go. Really addictive thriller with great comedic elements and tons of excellent performances from the always enjoyable Tatiana Maslany and that women from 9 Perfect Strangers, among others.

And yet, I feel like this show is getting zero buzz! What's the deal??

Honestly, it's a major part of the reason I follow this sub- so that I can easily glance at upcoming tv series and when they premiere and also, to hopefully have discussion about them when they do. Why aren't any of the mods staying on top of this? If you're too busy, why volunteer to become a mod in the first place?

Jon Hamm is very flat in this show. That came off well in Mad Men, but here, comes off as disinterested in the material. The world is also set up in a way that is not true to reality - his wife cheats on him and shamelessly moves her new bf into their family home and everyone acts like he’s the asshole somehow. Bizarre.

(Spoiler) In S2 - the show not fully fleshing out James Marsden’s character is insane. I thought it would end up that he was still alive because leaving him behind at this point feels unbelievable. They spent entirely too much time on irritating side characters (sister, Mel, daughter) and cut off the most compelling plot point before it even began

My primary question is, why is Jimmy resisting the good life he is getting.

Like I understand if you don’t have anything going for you, you act scammy and hustle to survive.

But he is getting everything, that is a good paying job, a girl who actually loves him, car, apartment.

All he had to do is play by the rules and don’t make life difficult for himself.

So I saw a bunch of posts about the TV Time shutdown. I never used TV Time, or any tracking app for that matter, mainly because I feel like I've seen so many shows and movies and starting from scratch would be long and tedious and I’d probably have a hard time keeping up with it.

One of the TV time replacement threads in my feed mentioned a trivia site called Preon and trivia is definitely my thing. I went to try a quiz for s1e1 of The Office, but before you take it you have to mark the episode as seen. So I did that and got a little pop up saying +1 episode added. Quiz was fast and fun so I went to the next, marked seen, +1. Noticing the pattern I just marked the whole series as complete. +199 episodes and unlocked a full series quiz. Which I failed.

I started jumping around to some of my favorite shows and movies, marking them as seen, doing the trivia. It was fun for a little bit but I started having a hard time thinking of all the shows I've seen. I set it aside and didn’t really think about it until a few days ago.

I just finished The studio (great show) and felt like doing some of the trivia for it. On the home page I saw something called Fast Tracker. This is where it gets interesting. It's a swipe tool to build watch history, basically tinder but I actually like my matches. I’m already at over 5000 episodes and 484 movies. I just keep swiping!
For someone starting from zero who didn’t care much about tracking, this is making all the difference. And the trivia and all the other stuff makes it so much more than a tracking app. It even says I’ll be able to connect my Netflix and Hulu profiles soon so it can automatically update my history as I watch, which is really cool. 
I don’t want to geek out too much, I just feel like I found something cool and wanted to share it with the people like me who would appreciate it.
