Miscellaneous Sitting on -$80k crypto while stuck in 6th year of engineering with family debt. How do I actually cash out?

I’m currently stuck in my 6th year of computer engineering with a mountain of back papers. I work a menial job making around Rs. 45,000 a month. My dad works 12-hour shifts every single day just to keep things running, and my mom nags me every now and then about being a useless failure who ruined his future(admittedly so, I did). My girlfriend broke up with me 6 months ago because of one reason or the another despite treating her to my best of the abilities.

The only reason I haven't completely given up is my younger sister who is in 12th grade right now, I want to make sure she actually gets to go to go abroad like she wants to. We live in a 3.5 storey house in the valley, but it’s heavily mortgaged with bank loans. Rent basically pays the interest/dad keeps things running, I'm investing my money to upgrade our lifestyle one itienary at a time.

Over the last three and half years, I heavily farmed airdrops, testnets, and meme coins on Solana/EVM during late nights, not giving a flying f*ck about academics, just because I found this shit peak, cashing in on meme coins, riding the wave, sometimes riding the wave, cashing out well above to bubble, occasionally getting rugpulled too. At its absolute peak, my wallet was showing almost $122,000. It took a massive dip recently, but I’m still sitting on well over $80,000 in USDT/BTC/alt coins.

I think it's time to cash out at least $50k to clear my family's bank loan, and help my sister live the life she wants, and fund my abroad studies or basically do anything really . But I am terrified of Nepal Rastra Bank freezing my bank account or calling me in over suspicious foreign inflows, especially when my regular income profile is just a broke student making 45k, that too kinda informal on it's own, contractor basis.

For anyone who has actually navigated 5-figure crypto liquidations locally:

  1. Is doing F2F (Face-to-Face) cash trades in Ktm/Lalitpur safe for amounts this large, or is it guaranteed to be a trap/sting operation?
  2. Is taking a quick flight to Dubai on a tourist visa to cash out at an OTC desk the only realistic/safe route left?
  3. How do people move this kind of money into NPR without triggering flags instantly at banks?|

Serious advice only, please. Thanks.

Miscellaneous How did my email get out there and how to prevent it from happening again?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I got an email from a stranger, addressing me by my name. I asked who it was and the reply was this.

I have no idea what dating site the person is talking about because I don’t ever remembering using one!

Besides I am a female and I couldn’t help laughing at that “big boy.”

But I’m also super scared because I am very very private (have a phobia) about my private details being on the internet.

I am suspicious what thea link might be and have not clicked on it and will not.

But can anyone help me figure out where the person got my email from? Like I really do not want my email out there.

Please help understand is this a scam or what and how did my email get out in the internet and what should I do now to prevent this form happening again!

Discussion Associate level examination at Leapfrog

Hey! I got shortlisted for an Associate Software Engineer role. They mentioned there will be 3 MCQs and 2 coding questions in the assessment. Can anyone share what I should expect? How many interview rounds are there usually? I mainly have frontend experience and don't know much backend, so I'm wondering if it's still worth attending the assessment. I'd really appreciate it if anyone with experience could share their insights. Thanks!

Internet/ISP Someone Will Become the Default AI Platform for Nepali Schools. I’m Starting Now. --Seeking NPR 1lakh for MVP

Upvotes

I think this is one of those ideas that will look painfully obvious after somebody builds it.

Nepal already has enough school software for fees, attendance, payroll, accounting and results.

But what about the actual reason schools exist?

Teaching and learning.

That side is still mostly open.

I am 22, currently studying engineering, and I am starting this venture alone.

I am looking for NPR 1 lakh to build and launch the first working MVP.

And yes, I am sharing the idea openly.

I am not worried that somebody will steal it.

If you can build it faster, sell it faster and reach schools before me, go ahead.

Because ideas do not capture markets.

Speed, execution and distribution do.

And distribution is the part where I am most confident.

The problem is already here

Teachers and students are already using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other AI tools for schoolwork.

This is not some future prediction.

It is already happening.

But these tools do not automatically know the exact textbook used by a particular school.

A teacher should be able to simply ask:

  • “Generate slides from Pages 35–42 of our Grade 8 Science book.”
  • “Solve Question 4 from Page 32.”
  • “Generate 20 similar questions based on Exercise 14.”
  • “Prepare homework from today’s lesson.”
  • “Create a 20-mark test from Unit 4.”
  • “Make revision notes according to the specification grid.”
  • “Plan how to finish Units 6, 7 and 8 within 15 teaching days.”

Normal ChatGPT does not know which publication, edition, page, exercise or diagram the teacher is talking about.

The platform I want to build will know.

A school selects the exact textbooks it uses.

Then teachers can generate slides, questions, lesson plans, homework, tests, notes and revision materials directly from those books.

Not from random internet content.

Not only from general AI knowledge.

From the exact textbook sitting in front of the teacher.

Why I think the timing is perfect

Just look around.

Schools are installing smart boards.

Projectors are becoming common.

Internet access is improving.

Teachers are slowly moving toward digital content.

Students are already using AI.

School owners also want to show parents that their school is modern and technology-friendly.

But honestly, a smart board without useful teaching software is still just an expensive screen.

The hardware is coming.

The AI is ready.

The missing part is the software that connects both of them with the actual classroom.

That gap will not remain empty forever.

Someone will build this.

The real question is who enters early enough to become the default platform.

Why teachers may never want to go back

For developers, think about Cursor, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

Once you become used to AI helping you code faster, do you really want to return to doing everything manually?

I do not.

The same thing can happen with teachers.

Teachers currently spend hours preparing slides, worksheets, homework, lesson plans, question papers, revision notes and monthly teaching reports.

Imagine reducing that work from hours to minutes.

Once teachers get used to that convenience, returning to the fully manual process will feel painful.

That is why I believe the first platform that becomes part of teachers’ daily routine will have a very strong advantage.

Not because the features cannot be copied.

They can.

But over time, the platform will already contain the school’s textbooks, teaching plans, syllabus progress, question papers, teacher activity and student-performance history.

A competitor can copy a “Generate Slides” button.

Copying years of school relationships, textbook preparation and daily teacher habits is much harder.

This will not stop at teachers

I will start with teachers because that is where the immediate problem exists.

But the bigger vision is a complete academic loop.

When a teacher completes a chapter, creates homework or conducts a test, the administration can automatically see the progress.

They can know:

  • What each teacher is teaching
  • Which chapters have been completed
  • Which classes are behind schedule
  • What homework was assigned
  • How much syllabus is remaining
  • Which topics students are struggling with

Teachers will also not need to keep preparing boring progress reports manually.

Later, students can get an AI tutor that knows their exact textbook, what their teacher has already taught and where they are weak.

Parents can receive simple updates about progress, homework, tests and areas needing improvement.

Eventually, the loop becomes:

Teacher teaches → Administration monitors → Student gets support → Parent stays informed

That is the long-term platform.

How will it make money?

The starting model is simple.

Schools pay a yearly SaaS subscription.

My current pricing idea is:

NPR 12,000 per grade per year

For example, if one school uses the platform for five grades, that becomes:

NPR 60,000 per year

If I sign 10 schools with an average of five grades each, that becomes roughly:

NPR 6 lakh in annual recurring revenue

The exact price will obviously be tested with real schools.

Later, pricing can depend on the number of grades, subjects, teachers and AI usage.

There can also eventually be:

  • Full-school packages
  • Student premium subscriptions
  • Administration dashboards
  • Publisher partnerships
  • Custom onboarding
  • School-specific integrations

But I do not want to overcomplicate the business model right now.

First, I need to prove three things:

Teachers use it. Schools pay for it. It saves real time.

How will I scale it?

I will not prepare the same textbook again for every school.

Each textbook will be processed once:

Grade → Subject → Publication → Edition

After that, every school using the same book can simply select it.

One properly prepared textbook can serve hundreds of schools.

I will begin with a small number of commonly used Mathematics and Science books.

Then I will:

  1. Test the platform with schools in Kathmandu Valley.
  2. Improve it using real teacher feedback.
  3. Add more grades, subjects and publications.
  4. Expand outside Kathmandu Valley.
  5. Partner directly with textbook publishers.
  6. Add the student and parent sides later.

The more textbooks available, the easier it becomes to onboard the next school.

The more schools join, the more attractive the platform becomes to publishers.

The more publishers join, the harder it becomes for a new competitor to catch up.

That is the scaling loop.

Why do I believe I can get the first schools?

I previously ran an EdTech venture for around two years.

It failed in the end, but I learned a lot from it.

I learned how school sales actually work, who makes the decisions, how much follow-up is needed and why many products fail after the first demo.

You can read more about that venture here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OnxQUaE_wXu_cayj_qEdjpDt_GYiet37bIlya-kWqFk/edit?usp=sharing

More importantly, I built many connections with schools in Kathmandu Valley.

Sales is honestly the part where I am most confident.

I will handle the initial marketing myself through:

  • Cold outreach
  • Direct school visits
  • Product demos
  • Follow-ups
  • Meetings with principals and academic coordinators

Once the MVP is ready, I am confident that I can bring at least 10 schools into the pilot or early-adoption stage.

I am not going to build the platform and wait for schools to magically find me.

I will go directly to them.

What will I use NPR 1 lakh for?

This money is not just for “building something.”

It will be used specifically to get the product into real schools.

The main expenses will be:

  • Building the first working MVP
  • Publishing the app on Google Play and the Apple App Store
  • Preparing and structuring the first textbook datasets
  • Initial AI and API usage costs
  • Basic hosting and infrastructure
  • Travel, demos, setup and support for the first school pilots

The goal is simple:

Build → Launch → Enter classrooms → Validate with real teachers

What am I looking for?

I am looking for:

NPR 1,00,000

Not to build the full company.

Just enough to build the MVP, launch it properly and test it with real schools.

The investment terms are open to discussion.

It could be equity, revenue sharing, a convertible investment or another structure that makes sense for both sides.

I am also open to talking with developers, school owners, publishers and mentors who genuinely understand the opportunity.

I know success is not guaranteed.

I have already failed once.

But that failure gave me two years of market experience, industry connections and a much clearer understanding of what I should build next.

Schools are becoming digital.

Teachers are already adopting AI.

The software layer for actual teaching is still missing.

And I do not think this window will remain open for very long.

Someone will become the AI layer for Nepali schools.

I am looking for one early person who believes I can reach the market before everyone else notices how obvious this opportunity is.

Interested people can message me directly.

Ever since the publication of the Attention Is All You Need research paper in June of 2017, Gemini's current position on this leaderboard feels out of place. It deserves to be at the top. This ranking might be embarrassing for Google, but don't worry, guys! Google will make a comeback soon because I love Google and have faith in them.

What u tho guys? Afule invention greko kura ma afulai haraidio, cuz all llms of modern days exist cuz of that Research Paper.

Discussion Has anyone here faced a situation where your previous employer refused to release your salary after you resigned?

I resigned after serving my notice period, completed my handover, and returned the company’s assets. However, my previous employer still hasn’t released my pending salary.
If you’ve been through something similar, how did you handle it? Were you able to resolve it through discussion, legal action, or the labor office? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion My Recent Cedar Gate interview experience.

I gave a Software QA interview. It was chill, just some basic manual QA questions, although be prepared for SQL and code; they did have pen and paper there. The interview was mostly in English, but you can use Nepali if you get stuck. Questions were mostly from my own CV, previous projects, and experience. Apart from skills, I felt that they are looking for a person who can manage work and complete in time. So your working strategy should be efficient while you explain. Hoping for next round if i pass first screening.

Tech Repair Messenger won't install after uninstalling on Nothing Phone 3a. Tried everything (Play Store & sideloading fail)

Upvotes

Hey everyone posting this because I'm completely out of ideas and need some urgent help. Yesterday, I uninstalled the Messenger app out of nowhere. When I tried to reinstall it today it just refuses to install.

Here is everything I've already tried:

1.Cleared storage and cache for the Google Play Store.

  1. Force stopped Google Play Services.

  2. Logged out of all Gmail accounts on the device and logged back in.

4.Tried installing via PC terminal through developer mode

5.Tried downloading the official installer directly from Facebook mobile app from the Get Messenger option

6.Turned off Advanced Protection and tried sideloading APK files directly but it just throws installation warnings and fails.

Every other app updates and installs completely fine. It is literally just Messenger acting up and the Play Store keeps throwing errors when I try to install.

Has anyone else run into this specific issue on Nothing OS or this phone? Any advice on how to force it through or clear whatever hidden cache/remnants are blocking this?

Thanks in advance.

Tutorial Honestly I'd say the ROG Xbox Ally is a great device, but they made it a bit too weak. Still gets the job done though, and comes with an activated copy of Windows 11 and is more portable than a Laptop

Bought it in India for INR 60k, and worth it for the price. MRP is Rs. 83k but I don't think anyone will sell it at that price. Maximum I've seen is INR 69k. Here's a tech review if you are considering to buy it.

Tech Review

It can play old AAA games well, doesn't really play new and heavy AAA titles but you can play FH5 more than 40FPS and FH6 at 30FPS by tweaking the settings. Surprisingly supports DirectX Ray Tracing but isn't very good at it. I only tried Ray Tracing in GTA V Enhanced Edition and came to a conclusion that in GTA V, locking the FPS to 30 is the only way to stably enjoy Ray Tracing. Watch the video and give me a feedback, if you liked it or not. Also consider subscribing if you find it helpful.

Discussion Anyone managed to verify a Nepali number on Twilio signup? Getting "Verification cannot be sent to this phone number [0x07]"

Trying to create a Twilio account for an SMS automation project. Stuck at the phone verification step during signup.

To be clear: this is just the **free trial signup**. No credit card entered, nothing paid, no phone number purchased. It fails at the very first step verifying my own number to create the account.

Entering my NTC number returns:

'Verification cannot be sent to this phone number. Please try with a different number. [0x07]'

Same error on both SMS and voice call, and it shows up instantly. So Twilio isn't even attempting delivery, it's rejecting the number upfront.

What I've already ruled out:

- Correct +977 format, regular NTC mobile, not VoIP

- Different browser, no VPN, cleared cache

- Not a rate limit it fails on the first attempt
