Photo caught this mountain sunset just outside seoul the other day

took this from a high viewpoint right outside the city. i was just trying to get away from the crazy traffic and noise for a bit and the timing was actually perfect. the sun was dropping right behind all those mountain layers and it turned the entire sky this insane orange and red color for like ten minutes straight. it almost looked unreal in person.

it is kinda wild how seoul is so loud and fast paced all day, but the second the sun goes down over the hills the whole vibe just shifts. everything gets super quiet and soft. u stop thinking about the crowds and just stare at the view for a minute.

i usually edit my stuff with vsco or sometimes lightroom, but those apps always make the colors look way too sharp and modern. i really wanted to keep that warm, slightly faded memory kind of feeling. the natural light was already doing most of the work anyway. so i just ran it through retrica to give it that older softer mood without over complicating things. the thing about retrica is it doesn't try to make everything pop like other filters do. it just adds this gentle grain and softens the edges a little bit. feels more honest somehow, like you're looking at a polaroid from ten years ago instead of something fresh off your phone. that's exactly what i was going for with this one.

really glad i made the trek up there just to catch this single shot. those moments where everything lines up perfectly don't happen that often, so when they do you gotta just sit with it for a minute and let it sink in.
