hello everyone, i like to consider myself a generally intelligent person in strategy, but RTA makes me feel like a total imbecile lol. i have a ton of fun in RTA every day, but i honestly have no clue why i lose so much.
i absolutely refuse to play angela + water gandalf. i speedran to 30% wr with vero valantis, went back up to 38% with vanessa zibala racuni taor. i think within my last 30 rounds i might be 45%-48%.. definitely not a winner
EDIT: i usually keep 9-12 mons runed at a time

I really want to make it to P3 one of these days for the skin obv but I feel trapped in P1 without any progress even tho I’m farming as much as I can be. I have a few vio will and despair will sets over +170 but I would say that more of my units are in the +160-170 ballpark, usually with pretty well rounded other stats too. I’m always farming giants cuz my swift is where I lack the most I think, being +217 on water monkey off will for example. I could muster some +200 off sets but they’re not very useful in speed contests even in P1. I only have seimei for useful rta lds among my two ld5s which I don’t take for granted but it feels like everyone else has super meta ld core units. I have most rgb 5* fortunately but I really think above anything else my drafting is cheeks. Anyway what sort of rune quality should I have to reasonably reach P2 and especially P3 given my drafting was okay? Thanks!!

Trying to speed tune my Tiana to move first. My Tiana is faster than Gallion but keeps moving after? I’ve checked the Artifacts and they aren’t affecting the spd…

How this works is that I will give hints of any kind that point to a certain monster, your goal is to guess who the monster is. How few hints can you get it in (make your guess but make sure you still read them all)? No cheating with the monster box either! The monster will be in its current state as of July 2026.
Yesterday's answer was... Gruda, the Water Warbear
Hint #1: This monster’s family consists of mixed star values.
Hint #2: This monster can apply the recovery effect to allies
Hint #3: This monster can decrease an enemy’s speed.
Hint #4: This monster has at least two transmogs.
Final Hint: This monster's awakening bonus is in speed.

A few weeks ago I hit a hard wall in ToA Hell. I kept timing out or getting wiped on the same stretch, so I posted in the Weekly Advice Thread and got a lot of the same feedback: more control, less greedy damage, and stop trying to brute force things with half-baked runes.
Update: I finally cleared ToA Hell this rotation. It was messy, but it was a clear win.
What I changed based on the advice:
- Rebuilt my core control units to be faster and tankier instead of chasing raw damage. I had been running "good enough" RTA runes and you could tell.
- Stopped forcing one team through every stage. I made two templates: a heavy-control team and a safer sustain-control team, and I swap them depending on whether a stage punishes debuffs or punishes healing.
- Tweaked artifacts to add damage reduction and accuracy where it mattered. I used to ignore artifacts unless a roll was massive.
The biggest difference was treating rune work like a job. Since I work online, I started doing short rune cleanups between tasks instead of marathon sessions. Ten minutes here and there to check speed tuning, confirm accuracy thresholds, and fix broken sets made a huge difference.
Question for people who clear regularly: once you can clear consistently, what's the best way to make runs less time-consuming? Is it mostly about deeper rune pools, or are there specific team cores that speed things up without turning it into RNG roulette?
Thanks again to everyone who gave constructive advice. It actually worked.

I have been trying the speed team for gb12 using Teshar, Priella, Konamiya, Lyn and wind hommie averaging around 46 seconds.
Sometimes randomly Priella doesn’t defense break the waves causing issue and also can only seem to do sub 40 clears with perfect AI and Teshar clearing most waves so characters have their skills. Added x2 nemesis to Lyn which has slightly helped but want more reliability. Any way to identify the issue? Lyn attacks last.
