Is this happening to anyone else that the base model fog lamp bezel keeps on falling off? I’m on my fifth replacement and starting to lose my mind.

Hey everyone, first post here. I recently got a 2019 Subaru Impreza Base and had a question about oil change intervals.

My last oil change was done at Valvoline, and the sticker they put on says to come back at 3,000 miles. I've been getting mixed answers though because some people say full synthetic 0W-20 (API SP) can easily go closer to 5,000 miles.

I believe the Impreza uses 0W-20 full synthetic, but I wanted to ask actual owners what you guys usually do.

Do you normally stick with 3,000 miles, or do you go closer to 5,000? Have you noticed any difference either way?

I included a picture of the oil filter from the last change too. I checked the dipstick and the oil level looks good (oil is showing on both sides and is above the two marks). It doesn't look extremely dark or dirty, but I know that doesn't tell the whole story.

My car is mostly just a commuter. I don't do off-roading, extreme weather driving, or a lot of long road trips. I'm just trying to figure out a good maintenance schedule without changing it way too early or waiting too long.

I just picked up my RS yesterday and I love it so far. However, the front speakers go out and come back after 5 seconds or so. If it’s a loose connection great, that should be a minimal issue. But I’m wondering if anyone has had that problem and it turned out to be something different. It’s annoying and I’ll take it in but not happy about hanging around the dealership this early in ownership for a fix.

seller states “Rockers need to be redone you can lift on the frame as for the knock when it first started it wouldn't start knocking till 3000rpm and go away at 4000 rpm then by the time I got home it would knock on start up get quieter once it warms up and saying that meaning I had to move it around my yard and I don't have the battery in ATM but I think the km is around 330000”

My recently purchased 2021 Impreza Premium. Couldn't be happier.

I have done a lot of this car and I still wanna do more. I still have a lot more plans for it, but I think we’ve came a long way. Second picture is how it looks now.

I bought a used Subaru for about 2000 back in February . Last month , the car randomly started overheating and smoking . I pulled over to let the car cool for about 30 mins , bought coolant , then got home safely and pour it inside the car .

Now , every time I drive for about 20 mins the car start overheating. And then after while, if come to complete stop the car will fully stop allowing me drive , basically turning off but still on .

So today I got an oil change because I realized I hadn’t got one since I bought the car . But the mechanic who did the oil change is telling the car may be overheating because the coolant needs to be flushed and that I shouldn’t have used the yellow All Vehicles Prestone kind . And he wants me to buy a No Spill Coolant Funnel Kit but it’s about $50 online and would have to pay him for labor .. at the point shouldn’t I just go to a shop and pay them do the flush ?

But my main question is .. why else would it be overheating ?

Hello! So a friend of mine has a 2009 Subaru Impreza that she is hoping to sell after having just bought a new one. It is the 2.5 SOHC model with 140k miles and externally, it's in beautiful condition. She kept up with routine maintenance on it. When she went to buy her new Subaru, she was offered only $500 in trade in, and the dealership told her "It probably has a blown head gasket. This model is notorious for that." I told her I would try to help her sell it at a more reasonable price.

I am a mechanical novice... the biggest repair I've done is a timing belt / water pump replacement on an old Honda Civic, but otherwise pretty routine stuff.

I figured if I am going to sell the car, I'd like to be able to give honest information to a possible buyer, so I purchased a compression tester. Upon removing the spark plugs, I noticed that there was a decent amount of oil at the base of the driver side spark plug wells (2 and 4), and only a minimal amount in the passenger side (1 and 3). No oil on the spark plug threads or electrode.

After getting the engine warmed up, removing the spark plugs, and removing the fuel pump fuse, I got the following readings:

• plug 1: 199.3
• plug 2: 192.4
• plug 3: 191.8
• plug 4: >200

Apparently my compression tester doesn't go beyond 200? I bought an Amazon cheapy.

So my question... what are the possible scenarios with the leaky oil and the pressure readings above? I just want to help with an honest car sale, or maybe if it's not too laborious and advanced, fix whatever problem is going on myself and make my friend a little extra money.

Hello fellow Impreza owners.

It looks like some of the window trim has started peeling off my 2018 Impreza (See pics). They are two different trims on the car. I’ve googled “lining” and “trim” but can’t seem to find anything.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? And/or parts to replace?

Hey yall, bought my 2019 Impreza used about 3 years ago and it seems they glued the skirt on in one section. I’d like to pop the whole thing off and replace the clips. Any recommendations or links for my model? Any help appreciated!!

out of the 6 speakers in my 2016 impreza hatchback, ONE works. and the screen barely responds to you touching it!!!
i wanna replace all the speakers and get a apple carplay head unit.

does anyone else’s imprezas speakers fluctuate on volume by itself? like mine will randomly get really quiet at full volume and then start BLASTING at medium volume.
please help bcs i kinda like it but also kinda hate it

Small aesthetic upgrade, had my roof rack powder coated black.

When I took it apart I also found of the screw holes were stripped. I drilled them out, tapped them, then I inserted stainless steel helicoil threads and got new black stainless steel screws to put in there.

Happy with the upgrade although the powder coat shop put a couple minor dents in my rack ☹️

trying to figure out what this is used for? or even is?

Is it just another ground spot for another car outlet spot…. Or somethign else I can put there instead?

Swapped the Impreza Wheels for some Forester XT wheels … I think it looks a million times better ! Now I need a brake upgrade tired of the dust! lol

I noticed my coolant was low in my 08 impreza and wanted to top it off. I see the previous owner has green coolant in it so I was hoping a brand like Peak asian 50/50 (green) would work.

The Subaru Super Green coolant is accessible to me but only overseas while the Peak coolant is in a store by me but please let me know whats best for the car. 🙏

Carplay and auto keep disconnecting on my 2018 impreza when I'm driving and I'm trying to see if an update will help. Can I just download the software update myself or do I have to go to a dealer. I looked online but the car doesn't seem to have the option to update off wifi.

21 impreza stock, humming while driving. Took it to a local subaru exclusive ahop and they said it was the tires. Im not too sure about that.

I drive a 2017 subaru impreza hatchback and while I was driving on the highway I noticed mist started coming out the vents kinda scared me. I still have coolant, the ac unit or radiator? Couple days later I see my over heating gage flickering on and off. Has this happened to anyone here?

The weather stripping on my rear passenger door glass got bunched up and the window won't roll up all the way/seal. Pretty sure I've ordered the right replacement parts (run channel weatherstripping, sash weather stripping), but I am absolutely lost on how to access these parts for replacement. I've looked at a bunch of videos on replacing/removing the interior door panel and/or the exterior trim but it isn't immediately clear to me where the attachments/accesses are for the door glass seals. I've also poked around a little in the body repair manual and the service manual and still no dice on the door assembly. Any tips/advice/resources would be very welcome. Thanks! Attached image is of the affected weatherstripping (passenger rear, along B-pillar trim) after I smoothed it out/poked it in a little bit to get the glass closed more. You can see the bulk of the mashed seal pushing up the exterior trim.
