Hello fellow gamers! I’m disabled and confined to a bed 95% of the day. Gaming has been an outlet of joy to me and helps pass the time each day. I don’t own a gaming pc (can’t afford one right now), but do have consoles that I can stream from for now. Which brings me to streaming. I want start streaming on YouTube, and maybe expand later to Facebook, etc. YouTube seems like the best place to start. What would I need bare minimum to get going? I do have my laptop I can pass video though for now. I assume I’d need OBS? Would I need a capture device like a 4k Elgato? I want to share my gaming experience, and if at some point I can monetize it, even better. Eventually I’d like to have a gaming pc, but that will hopefully come later. What would I need to get started?

I’m looking to get into streaming small live events and almost all of my equipment will be on HDMI out except for my DJI RC2 controller which has to do RTMP out. Do I have to buy a dedicated RTMP decoder/use a second laptop, or is there a way I can “receive” RTMP on my main laptop, decode it, send it into a switcher with all my other HDMI feeds, and run that switcher into OBS on the same laptop?

Or do I just not know what I’m talking about? Which is a very strong possibility.

so whenever i record or stream i always talk alittle more quiet and im not myself alot, and idk why, its not even anxiety but i just cant be myself when i record idk why, what do i do, is it like when i get new friends and i have to become comfortable first?? cuz i do, maybe also cause im scared to talk english at home since its not my native, ugh idk

Scheinbar kann nur Zattoo die Filme mit Untertitel aufnehmen. Ich möchte gerne die Schwarmintelligenz nutzen, um neue Ansätze oder Lösungen zu finden.

Bisher habe ich mit einem Linux Receiver aufgenommen. Ich möchte aber alternative Techniken schon mal ausprobieren.

I want to stream for my friends on discord from my ps5 with a capture card and OBS, so they can see my face. I want to go with one of those cheap capture cards first (UVC) just to try out, but when I´m thinking it through, I think there is a problem with having a headset connected to my Mac, to speak to my friends AND trying to have the game audio on my ears without delay, because I I connect my headphones to the controller, I can't stream via discord. Does anyone have a solution for this? And sound is rather important for me, as I will be doing SimRacing which is heavily connected to audio cues.

Anyone experience this? I plugged in my streamdeck yesterday. Spotify and all my things worked properly. But today I tried using it, spotify isn't working anymore. But OBS and others are working just fine... Not exactly sure what has happened.. Any input would be appreciated!

I've been working on an app that simulates a livestream. It includes things like scrolling chat, hearts, viewer counts, and other live stream UI elements.

One feature I'm experimenting with is AI-generated viewers that react to what you're saying, so you can practice talking on stream and get a feel for how an audience might respond. The idea is to help people build confidence before going live.

I'd love to hear what you think. Is there anything you'd add or change to make the experience feel more realistic?

What’s up y’all I’ve been trying to stream on kick go live app and everything works besides the wireless microphones I’ve been trying to use. Used different ones and nothing at all from either. Is there like a streaming software I need to use in order for mic to work on mobile? Or am I just not messing with the right settings?

I’m curious, does anyone still use wirecast, or do majority just use obs? Its seems like wirecast has some older codecs like avc1 vs obs which has av01.

I'm VERY new to streaming games but very OLD in life! LOL

I'm having a blast streaming on YouTube, and I've heard that it's very wise to repurpose streams so you can get more value for the buck.

I currently run OBS and stream off my PC, mostly Steam games, etc.

I have set up the Vertical plug-in and with it, I have made clips that I later move to Movavi and edit for YouTube shorts.

Just wondering if there are other ways that I can repurpose my stream content that aren't too hard, but have a good chance of getting results (e.g., views, more subscribers, etc.)

Well the post is as the title says, im a long time gamer and im considering taking up streaming as a side hobby. I dont really know where to begin honestly. I play on PC and I play all sorts of games I just don’t know how to really break into it. When I was younger in highschool I used to stream on twitch with my Xbox mainly for him so he could see my pov when we played SoT or R6 Siege back in the day. I would boot up my old account but I’m not sure I want to use that one unless I can change my name there. Is there any beginning advice or stuff I should know/do before I fully leap into part time streaming?

I am just curious about both atm. While I might start with a USB Mic I think having an audio interface is quit cool to work on sound, ofcourse you can also do it in OBS.

Anyway, what is your opinion on both softwares.

I currently am struggling to get a job and i wanted to try my luck in streaming. My questions are:

-what camera/microphone (basically what streaming peripherals should i use?) i don’t want to spend a lot but i want to offer quality.

-what platform would you recommend?

- do you recommend reposting on YouTube as videos?

-should i stream with a camera and reactions? I’m anxious because I’m a girl and i always use male usernames in my games to not feel judged.

-I have realistic expectations but even if I’m not winning a lot at least I’ll try something i enjoy and maybe it will help me get more comfortable as being a gamer.

So, I have looked up some mics and it seems a lot of people suggest a XLR Mic but it seems for me those only work if you are super close to the mic otherwhise you have no sound

Yet, every streamer I see has the mic further away.

So, are they using USBs or what sound direction do they use? Sphere, Niere - what is it?

So I used to stream like 4 years ago and I’ve been talking about rebranding and streaming again for so long but the name I want is already taken on twitch. My name is Nikki and the user/spelling I’ve been wanting is nikakoi. It’s a nickname a friends little brother would call me as kids. I’m open to changing the spelling or adding onto the name, only important part is koi still being spelled like koi fish since that’s what all my art is based around. I play on console and want to stream better. I need a laptop to use TikTok studios. But unsure what I need in a laptop I don’t need anything crazy bc I’m not trying to do hardcore gaming. Mostly just stream my game play with a cam to TikTok. I want to make sure I get a laptop that I can do that with. Is it possible to do that with just like a plain hp or anything. Or what do I need. I am trying to stream my PlayStation 5 but I have no clue how to set up a microphone set up my headphones or to even have audio for my gameplay. If anyone knows any helpful resources and tutorials please help me out. Ty.

i multistream on twitch and YT. also i use the multichat overlay from nutty.gg as the way my viewers can see the chat onscreen. during my 2 monitor setup i had the chat window from streamerbot opened in my OBS as a windowed dock. But now everytime i get a chat i have to alt tab to OBS to see what the viewer typed.

So is there a way to have the overlay from nutty,gg that i have in OBS to be in a way i can see on top of the game so i dont alt tab everytime.

currently using my phone as a second monitor to see the streamerbot window for chat, but its kinda small.

open to alternative ideas as well. dont know if i need to give any other info hope i covered all things

Hey y'all, I'm having major difficulties injecting discord voice chat audio into OBS.

For context, I'm using M1 Pro Macbook Pro for streaming, and I'm specifically streaming my PS5 Pro gameplay. I already have a fully functional scene setup for using the Chat Link Pro, but I'm trying to have a fully functional setup without needing Chat Link Pro bc I hate the messy cables.

I have everything in my non-Chat Link Pro scenes working, sans Discord. It has been a huge pain and I would really appreciate if anyone has a good straightforward fix. Thanks in advance!

I just got a new PC and would love to stream video games. I've never streamed before.

I've heard VoiceMeeter, SteelSeries Sonar, or Elgato Wave Link being recommended for this.

Do I need multiple (because there was one tutorial showing VoiceMeeter and SteelSonar combined), or can I go with one? What are they even for?

Hey guys, ive been trying to stream my switch and playstation on discord to play stuff with my friends, the only problem being that with both console the ratio showed on the discord stream is way too narrow.

Ive tried fixing it using streamlabs or obs but it doesnt seem to help, any tips? Help?

So I’m trying to set up my canon t6i for streaming on my pc and went to best buy to purchase a capture card. I was told I needed a capture card and the cam link. (They said camlink is basically just an adapter) Is that true? I tried to look online and it says I only need the capture card if it’s a console. 🤔 I would rather return it if it’s unnecessary, unless I would need to eventually upgrade it in the future for whatever reason?
