I'm in the Northyards area and having weird power issues in my apartment... can' really find or think of an explanation. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

TLDR:

Got engaged at top of s2s gondola, need some reference photos for planned tattoo.

I wonder if anyone could please help me! My now husband and I travelled to BC in 2022 and he proposed near the summit of the Sea to Sky Gondola. We came home, had a baby, got married, had another baby, and now we are planning some tattoos to honour where our family started. I really want the outline of the mountains behind where we got engaged, the only problem is the photos for reference for the tattoo artist.

While I have photos of the proposal, none of them are high quality enough to make out the outline of the landscape behind. I've searched Instagram, the s2s website etc, but I cannot find the exact view. I know it's a super long shot but I'm wondering if anyone has any photos they would be willing to share to help me fill in the blanks.

From what I remember, the exact spot is just off a trail on the right hand side after you cross over the suspension bridge away from the summit, but the details are admittedly hazy. I'll share the photos I do have, hopefully they are helpful.

It would mean SO so much to me if someone out there could help me get to see that view again. Thankyou 💜

I know Squamish is the MTB capital of the universe but does anyone have any good recommendations for smooth trails for pulling a trailer with a 1 year old? Bonus points for paved trails. We are visiting later this summer and are leaving the full squishies at home and opting for family trailer rides.

I can’t convince my friends to wake up to be at the parking lot before 9 am for a Saturday in August. We would be more suited to using it from 3 pm or after and leave around 6/7. Would it be impossible to find parking around 2-3?

Does it get cold around in the evening? How’s swimming?

Hey everyone, my friend and I are interested in doing the Echo Lake hiking trail and are currently trying to assess what would be the safest way to cross the river.

So far from the information I’ve gathered online, people seem to say that high tide is the safest time to cross as the speed of water current slows down. I saw someone also mentioned that it’s a good idea to go scope out a few exit points alongside the river so that in case you do get stuck in the current and start getting pulled downstream, you have a better idea of where to get yourself out.

we haven’t gone to scope out the river yet (we are planning on it) but I’m wondering if anybody has done it in recent days and has any tips they’d be open to sharing? We have paddle boards but I’m not sure if that’s the best way to go about it. I’m seeing some conflicting information where some people say they’ve done it on a SUP and it was fine and then other people are advising against it so I’m a bit confused.

if anyone has gone out in the last week and is up to sharing tips on what the water levels are like this time of year especially with the hot temperatures from the last few days, I’d love to hear about your experience.

We want to be as safe as possible if we decide to go ahead with this so any info is helpful!

This little one seems to be abandoned out in the open on my balcony, it's been about 2 hours since I noticed it. We have a couple wild birds that visit (not visiting the baby), I'm worried they will attack it as the male sparrows have been very territorial chirping right now. (Different species)

It occasionally chirps but mostly stays still and quiet. Should I call someone, and if so who services Squamish?

The recent removal of the corsa parking (probably about… 40 spots?) has me thinking again of an idea to solve parking issues downtown. It seems like development will only intensify, putting more and more condos with insufficient parking spots. Because let’s face the reality folks, if you are an adult in squamish, you on average will have your own car.

The issues that come from a lack of parking downtown:

1) residents whose apartments do not have enough parking spots have to park on what is increasingly less street parking.

2) tourism surge hours make all of downtown a car zoo, which deters tourists from spending money on the local economy

3) many essential services like doctors, pharmacies, grocery stores are downtown, making these services more difficult to access, especially for the elderly and disabled

Have we considered the simple solution of building a parkade at the edge of downtown?

Hear me out…

1) residents who do not have a parking spot can rent a guaranteed one in the parkade. Will it be a walk to your car? Yes. Will it give people assurance they will have a spot? Yes. Will it reduce demand on street parking? Yes.

2) tourists, for a modest fee like $2-$4 (to cover capital expense… perhaps can pay itself off??) will know they have a spot they can park to go shopping ($$$ for local economy). It might even allow us to do things like close cleveland to cars on weekend surge times. How cool would that be?

3) reduce strain on street parking for disabled/elderly who need essential services.

4) city council can have all the strange bike lanes they want while reducing the costly trade off of street parking.

My hubby and I were camping and noticed this structure on top of the cliff line across Squamish River from High Falls Rec Site. Zoomed in photo looks like lights but we couldn't figure it out and we are sooooo curious.
Anyone got the answer? SOLVED!
