Baseball Reference Inviting Beta Testers for new Baseball Simulation World
Hello baseball fans!
My name is Jody Roberts, and I'm a baseball fan, data scientist, software engineer, and creator of **Internet League Baseball** (ILB).
I’m preparing to open beta testing for ILB, and I’m looking for baseball fans who would be willing to try it and provide honest feedback.
ILB is an online baseball universe built around simulation, strategy, statistics, live games, announcer commentary, and persistent league history. ILB supports multiple leagues and different ways to participate, including following games as a fan, managing a team, running a league, or taking control during live gameplay. Follow your favorite teams and get notified when they're playing, or make the playoffs for a league season!
Two major goals of ILB were to create a human-realistic announcer voice commentary, and to produce games and statistics that feel believable and internally consistent. Every game leaves a trace. We've done lots of testing and simulations, but human baseball fans notice things that test suites don't. That is where beta testers can make a real difference.
You don't need to be a developer or commit to a huge testing project. I'm looking for people who can spend a little time exploring the site, listening to or playing a game, reviewing the statistics, and telling me what feels right, wrong, confusing, or interesting.
If you enjoy baseball statistics, simulation games, fantasy leagues, or examining how baseball systems work, I'd love to hear from you.
If you're interested, reply to this post or email me directly at **[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])**. I'll give you a short checklist to follow, or not, if it helps you. The whole checklist might take you an hour and a half or so. All your feedback will be taken constructively.
Thanks for considering helping us build the world of ILB.
Regards,
Jody - u/astrojr1
