Just got back from traveling through Europe, it was my first time back there since trump’s been president. It’s a truly embarrassing time for Americans. Everyone across that continent is paying $7-9/gallon for gas because of our asshole government, plus all the other hundreds of embarrassments this loser has put us through. Trump thinks that having Infantino as Secretary-General of the UN, he’ll have access to corruption of a larger magnitude. Trump is the most blatant grifter since King Leopold of Belgium, Sani Abache of Nigeria, or Mobutu Sese Seku of Zaire, who reportedly amassed personal fortunes of $5 billion over decades of blatant theft from national treasuries, while Trump and his family has left those pikers in the dust in less than two years.

It is honestly terrifying that the leader of the free world is so malleable and susceptible to suggestion that a perfect stranger forced to coddle and stroke his ego will have Trump trying to make him the godfather of his children. Within a single fleeting encounter is sufficient to have the pathetic old man fully finessed and eating out the palm of your hand.
This isn’t a one-off occurrence. Off the top, he did it with Mamdani. He was talking mad shit before their meeting and even making—in hindsight—empty threats.
After their meeting, the dude had Trump glowing as he gushed about his newfound brother from another mother.
His base likes to delude themselves as to the content of his masculinity just as well as his character—which is just fucking weird, guys, seriously—but to see Trump roll over and show his supposed opposition his belly in-person while talking a big empty game when safe behind camera…. That’s just…. A very unpalatable look… to say the least.

So, remember when Trump was giving a description of his “incredibly difficult” cognitive test and gave the example of a list words he had to recite as “person, camera, man, woman, TV” i.e., things that were directly in his line of vision while he was telling that story in the moment?
This is the same kind of thing. He was just with Infantino, so that’s what his brain defaults to when trying to think of someone, because his addled mind can’t remember anything that happened more than a few hours before. So the next time this comes up he’ll have totally forgotten who Infantino is and will grasp at a different name of someone he’s recently interacted with, maybe the woman who changed his diaper that morning will be the best candidate for the next UN secretary general. This is how things work in the White House now.
