I have met quite of lot of Argentinians and boy are they thin skinned people. Can dish it out, but can’t take it.

u/Careful_Inspection83 21h ago
The audacity that they think they're the only ones who get to celebrate is actually positively INSANE
131
u/ManicYetti 21h ago
He just mad cuz he realized he had nothing to celebrate
128
u/ApartPersonality7230 17h ago
He was mad because he wanted to celebrate: * their booming econo...wait * their undisputed claim over the Falk...hold on * their successful milit...no not that one * their soft culture impact...hmm probably not * their geopolitical signifi...not really * their world class infras...one sec
Terribly unsportsmanlike football it is! Fucking bunch of clowns.

It’s sad when a country only has soccer to live for. With no more Messi to look to, they are going to be soul searching for their new hero.

Couple that on top of that fact that the way THEY celebrate is actually disrespectful.
23
u/teetering_bulb_dnd 18h ago
Nah it's not audacity. Its cowardice.. They do this kind of shit when they are in big groups or when they know they have the upper hand in the situation... typical coward behavior. unfortunately they are not met with much resistance, one fine day they unknowingly do this to someone that would rightfully slap the shit outta them..

u/SudoMadeMeDoIt 18h ago

spain fan had the bad luck of being solo in a group of them. there’s a reason most soccer fans are separated. but it happens across all sports. you wind up solo in a crowd of eagles fans, you better use some self preservation skills.

Not cheap anymore. At least not compared to other nearby countries. Even Argentinians go to Brazil for vacations because it’s cheaper. Beautiful country though, and no one I met was like the ones we’ve seen in these types of videos
8
u/Mammoth_Support_2634 19h ago
it's really weird because in Argentina there are a lot of people like this dude in the video who are hyper aggressive and a*holes.
then there are a lot of people who are SO NICE and have a wonderful sense of humor.
I had a lot of wonderful experiences in Argentina. But also had a lot of really awful experiences.

I lived in Argentina for a bit and learned a joke there:
Do you know how an Argentine ends his life? He jumps off the top of his ego.
7
u/Get_Breakfast_Done 18h ago
In the Brazilian version of this joke he starves before he hits the ground
3
u/rshni67 17h ago
I also traveled there and people brag about having particular shrinks because they are neurotic as hell. Your shrink is a status symbol there.
3
u/Dry_Investigator1855 17h ago
Uhhh, people don't brag about specific shrinks, or going to the psychologist. They just brag about having the most. It's like when Uruguayans brag about having the highest suicide rate.
3
u/rshni67 17h ago
They bragged to ME about specific shrinks and specific neuroses.
And about how much they were paying for said shrinks.

As a Brazilian, I’m so happy the world is finally seeing that country for what it is. I enjoyed Messi, and DiMaria but the rest of them are so shit. I miss the Superclássico Das Américas, a two leg friendly tournament that we used to have against them and there was a trophy at the end; needless to say we beat them 4 times at it and they beat us twice and then said they wouldn’t participate no more after their second win. It was just a fun little friendly, and they got butthurt we had a better record.

Lived in Buenos Aires for 9 months, was engaged to an Argentinian for 3 years and have lived in Miami for a while now.
They have this really weird attitude I think boils down to them seeing themselves as better than the rest of Latin America (because they're mostly recent immigrants from nice first world European countries, they still identify with).
They carry around this superiority, that they can't quite shake, especially when the rest of the world doesn't bow down to them, the way they bow down to themselves.→ More replies (7)10

u/Adavanter_MKI 21h ago
I hate people like that. He has a right to celebrate his team FFS. It's not YOUR stadium. I've been fired up about a team before, but never felt the need to stop the opposing side from celebrating. I typically just get mad at my own team for screwing up.
The fact others did nothing to even motion him to calm down is BS too. Does no one care how they appear anymore? Have some decency... honor.

Argentine fans suck— they have a Trump-wannabe as president, and too many of them take pride in their allegedly “pure” European blood. Also, the ref should have handed out yellow cards to their team much earlier. It was almost like the fix was in or something, but Spain even overcame that.
3
u/ExtraLettuce555 19h ago

When I was watching the 2018 World Cup with 2 friends in a bar full of English fans in 2018, I literally threw myself on the ground in celebration when Mandzukic scored. Then I thought “I better get up and chill before I get jumped” but they didn’t say or do anything.
After the game, pretty much all of them came up to us and congratulated us for the win via handshakes and pats on the back.
Fans are different across the world but I can’t imagine Argentinian fans doing something like that.
Those English fans were devastated but they showed nothing but class in defeat. It felt surreal. I was sure I’d get at least a few insults.
