Help! Sonarr not putting episodes in season folders.

Upvotes

Im using Sonarr with Profilarr, and I don't know what is happening in the chain, but for some reason, Sonarr isn't importing the media the way I want it to import. The episodes just import into one folder for the show without creating other folders for the seasons. I had this working before, but for some reason it just doesn't do that anymore. And when I do manually create separate season folders and put the files into the folders, if just sees it's missing and redownloads the files and dumps the files all into the main show folder. How can I fix this?

waiting for op So close to getting this set up

I'm on a Windows 11 based system. I have Qbittorrent running on it with a Vpn along with Nzbget and Plex. After a few days I got Docker set up with Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr and Overseerr. I managed to mount my media folder in the container so it's seeing my media just fine.

The problem I'm running into is the arr modules can't see my clients. I've seen that the localhost won't work because they're technically separate systems and I'd need my actual IP for the containers. My issue is that my ISP renews my IP regularly.

This has got to be a common problem but I've hit a wall. Any help would be really appreciated.

external app Quartermaster 1.1.2 is out: private push notifications, Now Playing, iCloud sync and 7 new services + many more

Previous - reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/sonarr/comments/1umu4yl/we_are_finally_live/

1.1.2 is out, and it is a big one. Still mixing this with a full time dev job so it has been a lot of late nights, but I am really happy with this one. A huge amount of it came straight from your reports and requests, so thank you. (if you see this and you're already using QM, show some love!)

Quick reminder for anyone who missed the launch, Quartermaster is a native iOS app for controlling your self hosted stack from your phone/iPad. Pure client no account no relay in the middle, your credentials stay encrypted on device.

What is new in 1.1.2:

- Push notifications, done the private way. Grabs, imports and health warnings from Radarr and Sonarr, plus request alerts from Jellyseerr, Overseerr and Seerr. They come through a tiny relay that stores nothing but an anonymous device token. No account, off by default, one switch to turn on, and a setup check that proves the webhooks can actually send and repairs them on the spot. If you would rather have no middleman at all, you can wire each service straight to your own ntfy server instead.

- Now Playing. A quiet banner the moment a stream starts on your Plex, Jellyfin, Emby or Tautulli, and live Now Playing cards on the Home screen showing who is watching what.

- Seven more services join the stack: Jackett, Wizarr, Shelfmark, Dockhand, Jellystat, Streamystats and Tracearr. Tracker health and cross-tracker search that sends a release straight to your download client, invites without touching a web UI, ebook and audiobook search, container fleets, and watch analytics for your media server.

- iCloud sync (Pro). Your setup follows you between devices, encrypted on device with a passphrase only you know. I could not read it even if I wanted to.

- Adding, levelled up. Your own Radarr recommends what to add next, alongside your import lists, Trending and Popular, no extra keys needed. Partly owned collections surface as a rail and complete in a tap. Series add with monitor presets, a season picker, series type and tags.

- Missing episodes, found. The Series Missing filter opens into every aired but absent episode, newest first, with one tap searches per episode or all at once.

- Poster status markers. A slim marker on every library poster for in your library, downloading, missing, or not out yet, read out by VoiceOver too.

- Queue control on all five download clients: move to top, up, down or bottom, swipe actions for the common moves, and anything destructive asks first.

Plus a Tdarr staged transcode review, requests that open the full title page with Approve right there, tab bar and Home customisation, a proper one black dark mode, and a built in FAQ and troubleshooting guide with a Get help link on every connection error.

Fixed: calendar dates now match your Radarr exactly wherever you live, newer Jellyseerr and Seerr webhook changes are handled automatically, and a long list of fixes across Deluge, Wizarr, AdGuard Home on routers, Plex sharing and the Doctor, most straight from your reports. Plus much, much more!

iOS only for now.

unsolved Absolute n00b.

I have downloaded sonarr, radarr and jellyfin thinking I was going to get rid of Netflix/ disney/ prime/ etc on the same day.

Is there an absolute beginner guide for this? I’m decent with the computer (as in I can do all the little gimmicky things I want) but I haven’t used torrents since uTorrent… Probably the Limewire days, BEFORE Lars Ullrick sued Napster.

Any help greatly appreciated.

solved Help with Episode numbering/TVDB mismatch?

Hello everyone, I am running into an issue, and I'm hoping somebody can help me. I am trying to manage Star Wars: Rebels through Sonarr, but the episode data it pulls from TheTVDB seems to be incorrect. They list Season 3 as having 21 episodes, with Episode 1 being "Steps Into Shadow" and Episode 2 being "The Holocrons of Fate". However Episode 1 was a two-parter, so it should be as follows.

Episode 1: "Steps Into Shadow (Part 1)"
Episode 2: "Steps Into Shadow (Part 2)"
Episode 3: "The Holocrons of Fate"

And so on and so forth.

So Sonarr is freaking out and won't actually import or manage the episodes, because it "can't find" episode 1, and the rest of the episodes' numbering is off by 1. Of course it's mostly fine in Jellyfin, I can just manually edit the metadata, and all the episodes are still there, but it's really bugging me. Is there a way to fix this?

unsolved Stop downloading .scr and .exe files

Ive noticed that recently sonaar has been grabbing a lot of scr and exe files when it should be looking for video formats. I think this happens when it tries to grab a new episode before its actually released, so every torrent available is fake. How do I stop it from ever considering these file types? I would normally add a custom format rule and and set it to -10000 in profiles, but I don't see any option to screen file formats

unsolved Sonarr not retaining "Show Title" option

When I go into Sonarr, even on same browser on same machine, it'll randomly turn off the "Show Title" option. What's up with that? How do I get it to stick, ideally for the account as a whole

Bonjour,

discussion set time slots for transfer of downloaded episodes/media?

I'm looking for some advice on optimization. I currently run a Ugreen DXP2800 with 1 NVMe SSD and 1 HDD.

My current arr-stack workflow is configured so that all active downloads go directly to the SSD. Once a download completes, it immediately transfers over to the HDD for long-term storage. This setup works perfectly(for the most part), but I’ve run into an annoying issue with my HDD spin-up habits.

I have HDD hibernation enabled to save power and reduce noise. However, if a single episode finishes downloading at 2 AM, the NAS wakes up, spins up the drive, moves that one file, and goes back to sleep. This happens multiple times a day/night just for single file transfers.

My question: Is there a way to configure the arr-stack (or a script/tool) to batch these transfers so they only happen once a day?

Ideally, I’d love for everything to download to the SSD throughout the day, but wait to transfer all accumulated files to the HDD in a single batch (say, every night at 8 PM). This way, the HDD only spins up once instead of every time a single file finishes.

Has anyone set up something similar or have a recommended workaround for this?

waiting for op How and when does Sonarr move files to the Series/Season directory?

Here's my normal workflow. I find and download a release. Paste the link it qbittorrent and manually input the location à la Series/Series_Name/Season#/location.

The root folder, as far as Sonarr is concerned, is the top level Series folder. But when Sonarr downloads, everything winds up in that root folder. Never gets moved. How do I fix that?

external app (ai coded) Introducing: Atrium, a Sonarr and other *arr media stack manager application.

Hello Everyone

My team and I have spent the last two months working on Atrium, a central courtyard for your self-hosted media stack.

Since LunaSea was archived earlier this year, we decided to pick up where it left off with a brand new, Material 3 Flutter codebase built entirely around multi instance setups.

What is Atrium?
Atrium is a single Android application that acts as a unified frontend for all the media stack services. It is designed purely as a controller and management surface, so you can manage your services and leave playback to the official apps.

How does it support Sonarr? For Sonarr, we didn't just stop at a basic list view. Atrium features a deep 7-tab layout that gives you a complete overview of your series, including full advanced sorting and filtering, a built-in calendar view to track upcoming releases, and a comprehensive settings editor so you can tweak your configuration directly from your phone. It works just like the Sonarr web UI, but wrapped beautifully in the app.

All Supported Services:

  • Sonarr
  • Radarr
  • Prowlarr
  • Bazarr
  • Seerr
  • Tautulli
  • JellyFin
  • Emby
  • Plex
  • qBittorrent
  • SABnzbd
  • Glances

The app is vibe-coded, but with brutal and rigorous user testing to ensure a bug free experience (Yes, we do use this app ourselves everyday).

You can grab the latest release here: https://github.com/retransmit/Atrium/releases/tag/v1.0.7

We’re currently in the middle of getting Atrium officially listed on F-Droid, but since it's a completely open-source, reproducible build with zero proprietary blobs, we want to make sure everything is flawless. We could really use some extra eyes on the project right now. If you're down to help out, check out our F-Droid merge request here: gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/merge_requests/43077

Help! NZBGeek not working in Sonarr

NZBGeek stopped working in my Sonarr setup. It worked fine before, not sure how long it's been broken. When I test the indexer, it says "Invalid API key." I've copied and pasted the API key from my NZBGeek profile, checked everything, deleted and recreated the indexer entry in Sonarr, regenerated the API key and tried with the new one. Nothing has worked. Anyone else having issues?

discussion Help with the correct way to name and import the Pokemon show

I have all the episodes on my laptop that I am manually importing into sonarr. Season 1 seems to be completely fine but season 2 doesn’t pull any title, year or description. I have the pokemon TV show set to The TVDB(Absolute) ordering within the edit > advanced section. I set my sonarr episode list to use anime absolute not that it matters since I’m manually importing it anyway. For example season 2 episode 2 will show episode 1 without any title or any information. The file name goes like this [Anime Time] Pokemon - 083 - Pallet Party Panic.mkv. But season 1 is labeled exactly like this and plex has no issues with the metadata at all and shows the entire season 1 correctly with episode names, year, episode description.

Is there a different way I should be doing this? Has anyone here that imported this before can provide their steps of how they went about it? Also if I have to rename all the files is there an easy free bulk rename tool if that ends of becoming the outcome so I don’t have to rename 1300+ episodes?

unsolved Can't find anime, despite finding it manually on indexers

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm setting the type to anime. But it can't find it; most animes just fail. I think only 20% of the animes I put on there actually go through, and I can easily find them by searching their Japanese names on the indexers, but there's no way for Sonarr to let me explain the Japanese name? Or no way to set what name it looks for? I have to manually add each anime and episode one by one by putting it in qbtorrent myself, but at that point why even use this? Am I missing something?

unsolved Recommendations for ‘Arrs on a Laptop and constantly moving

Alright, I have been running Sonarr and Radarr, along with SABNZBD for the better part of a decade. Initially on a home iMac for a few years, then migrated to a Pi for 4 years or so, and most recently, migrated to my Synology NAS about a year ago. All of those machines have been ‘always on’ and always connected to the internet. I had schedules for work days so it would not download content during work hours, but other than that, download those bits!!

My partner and I have decided to take a year off and travel around the world (currently on a two month stint in Central America). I don’t have access to my home NAS as we have tenants in our place, and I didn’t setup VPN before we left. All I have with me is my M1 Mac Book Pro, with approximately 1 TB left of open space. I’ve tried to use Apple+ and Netflix to download content for inevitable airports, trains, and quiet time, but I get so frustrated trying to figure out “which streaming service is that one?” I’ve tried to think about how to address :

  1. Available space on laptop (obvious answer is get an external portable hard drive)
  2. Control ‘when’ Sonarr and SABNZB download content - most of our time will be spent at short term stay locations (AirBnB and small hotels).
  3. Monitoring only a couple of shows at a time to queue up new stuff, but not monitor 100+ shows (like I do at home).
  4. Make sure AirBnB / Small Hotels don’t get on me for downloading “large amount of data” (I already use SSL connections to my Usenet Providers).
  5. Deal with the inevitable variety in Internet download speeds at various rentals.
  6. Potentially stream to main TV (instead of watching on MBP laptop screen).

Any recommendations? Anything I’m not thinking about? Best practices? I think I can access a backup of my existing Sonarr config, which will get me started, but what monitoring techniques should I use?

Cheers in advance.

discussion What is the best way to name the Pokemon series correctly?

So I’m working on importing the Pokemon series. I was told that using absolute episode ordering is best for anime. Season 1 was fine. Now the issue comes in at season 2. When using absolute episode ordering plex will not put any description or title of the episode. I believe this is because it is looking for the wording season 2 episode 1 and so on, not episode 83. But then doesn’t that defeat the purpose of using absolute episode ordering? Would I have to rename season 1 and use normal tv/season ordering?

Help! Seedpool is not showing up in Sonarr/Radarr

Hi,

after adding the Seedpool indexer in Prowlarr, it doesn't show up in Radarr/Sonarr. I selected a pre-configured profile, and the API key was added correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this, and how can it be fixed?

I'm attaching my Prowlarr settings.

waiting for op Override language on single tracker?

There's this tracker that only contains media in a single language, but sonarr/radarr always defaults to english. Most likely because there isn't any language clues in the titles.

How can i force this one tracker to always be interpeted to a single set language?
