A few weeks ago I shared one of my handmade cat coin purses here, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received. The encouragement, feedback, and kind comments from this community were incredible.

Since then, I’ve completed these new custom orders, each with its own unique leather and thread combination. It’s been a lot of fun seeing everyone put their own spin on the design, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented, shared ideas, or reached out.

I’ve always been inspired by nature, and lately I’ve found myself paying more attention to the small details of plants that are easy to overlook.

This time, I chose rosemary.

Instead of simplifying the design into a generic leaf pattern, I wanted to keep the long, slender shape and the slightly irregular way rosemary grows. Every leaf was shaped individually and assembled by hand, which took much longer than I expected, but I felt those little details were worth preserving.

One of my favorite parts of making jewelry is trying to translate something living into metal without losing its character. I don’t want the finished piece to look perfectly symmetrical—I want it to feel like a small sprig that could have been picked straight from a garden.

This ring is part of a botanical-inspired series I’ve been exploring, and I already have a few more plants in mind for future pieces.

If you could turn any plant into a piece of jewelry, what would you choose?

I've been making concrete garden gnomes! I'm really into them.

I got some chain maille supplies at a garage sale a few months back. I guess my brain decided today was the day I try using them. So I looked up some images, reverse engineered them, and made a pendant and a chain to fidget with. lol

This piece carved on vegetable-tanned leather. The design is first hand-tooled into the surface to create the details and expression. The raised effect is achieved using a relief embossing technique from the back, which gives the portrait more depth and dimension. After the carving and forming process, I hand-painted the piece using leather pigment paints, layer by layer, to bring out the colors and expression.

A lot of people asked for an update, so here it is :)

Of course, my friend really liked it. When he saw the map, he was genuinely moved and cried.

He spends a lot of time with it, but honestly, the part he liked most was Braille itself. He had wanted to learn it for a long time, but he had never really had an opportunity.

So now we spend time together, and I teach him how to read Braille. It is difficult for him, but he really enjoys trying and puts a lot of effort and energy into it. And he keeps thanking me for being patient with him.

At the same time, there are quite a few problems with the map itself that I discovered while using it with him.

First, I used regular raised numbers on the map instead of numbers written in Braille. That is, of course, a downside.

Second, the dots on the Braille alphabet came out quite small and sharp, so they are difficult to distinguish.

I tried to use standard Braille dimensions and spacing, but after 3D printing, the result was not quite what I expected. Everything looked normal in the model, but by touch, the dots were not as comfortable or easy to distinguish.

Because of that, learning is more difficult for him, since the dots themselves are hard to tell apart. But he is trying very hard, and he is already making progress.

I think that in the second version of the map, I will take all of these problems into account and make it better.

I had been wanting to make something handmade for my mom forever, and she loves mushrooms and fairy lamps. One day I saw an artist who made lamps kinda like this using polymer clay, so I snapped some inspo photos and got to work. I haven’t messed with polymer clay in about 20 years, and even then I never made anything quite like this haha.

I did this in 2 days and it was very stressful (birthday gift), but I used polymer clay, sculpting wire, fairy lights, marbles, aquarium stones, and my most favorite part… uranium glass beads as mushrooms around the little pond and up the tree bark. I’ll post a black light photo in the comments. I used transparent polymer for the spots with the lights and for the cap, and I finished it all with mica.
