For the love of god I was not able to understand how it works, as I was not able to locate this mf in the map files. I did'nt notice it in the game, but files include audio of someone tapping at a glass, which is supposed to play if player doesn't look at the ghost. Before being surprised with this I thought Simon could annoy Ross's aquarium. I still wish you could do that.

I got my hands on the pre-beta that was re-published by u/biohazard_fanatic back in Spring and spent awhile tinkering with it. I noted a lot of things by looking at maps, then by putting different combination of files into the final game, and after that by putting in everything and meticulously fixing conflicts and back-porting the HPS API (game's scripting files).

I desired to make a video-series about it, but life happened. Maybe in August I'll be able to return to it. But for now I sure can share my current findings.

• All noted changes (commentable G-document and my original txt (original formatting is way more readable in monoapace font w/o linebreaks))
• Documentation of merging/backporting process (G-doc and txt)
• Tests one would be able to run within the beta maps

Hello everyone, did anyone here follow Vote4holt’s soma gameplay?
During his experience or the game he repeatedly shows through actions and words his distain towards robot’s life, be them Ais or human scans.
Id love to discuss this topic personally, mostly to get understanding on how people perceived these beings in the game.

Some examples of Vote4holt’s actions throught the game: he multiple times ignores and belittles a robot’s suffering, claiming that it means nothinf as they are nothing more than machinery with an ai implanted in them (even if he later discovers the truth about the humans minds living on in the robots), multiple times he ignores and insults requests robots give, be them of compassion or about specific choices, he has some really specific views on what makes a person well.. A PERSON… and it seems most of all that a human mind to be considered respectable for him has to be its original copy INSIDE its original mind, even then whenever he meets sarah at the end of the games he doesnt wanna grant her death proclaiming that he has no right to decide the fate of a human being (lets rememember how the world is finished and there are literally no other people around for sara to find comfort in, also the fact that she is stuck at the bottom of the fucking ocean forever).

So yeah, maybe i came off pretty strong, but i have always had lot of empathy for other people and to me at least the robots and copies shown in game have enough will of their own to be in fact PEOPLE. In the end i did enjoy V4H’s gameplay and it was truly interesting exploring the game through the eyes of someone with such a view (be it restrict) on life and consciousness.

I'm a bit confused by this, who's confirmed aside from Simon and Catherine to actually be on the ark? Is everyone's brainscan there and could Simon meet them? Is there a list of the scans that made it and that didn't?

Hello reddit I will be releasing the prototype of soma again since the orignal link is now dead however I noticed the first time around no one looked into it however I have more info now so here I go first off this is dated March 2015 which is 1 month before beta which was april however it went into pre beta in August 2014 so it resembles final....somewhat

I wasnt able to afford the collectors edition at the time it was available, and now it seems like there's no longer any way to buy them short of scouring ebay. It's a shame because i would have killed to have seen the contents of the art book and CD, but finances just didn't allow at the time.

I’m not sure if this is a pure coincidence or if someone else has discussed this before, but now I just want to get straight to the point with this one. While Johan Ross tasks Power Suit Simon with killing the WAU, he reveals that someone he calls “the girl”, revealed to be Raleigh Herber, was going to take care of it before the WAU killed her by overloading her blackbox.

The connection I’m making here is that if Simon decides to kill the WAU (or refuses to do so), he’s making this decision within the body of none other than Raleigh Herber, the one who made the first failed attempt to do so. So, in a way, he is quite literally picking up from where she left off.

This is giving me like two questions which might be stupid, but I’ll ask them anyway:
1. Raleigh Herber in the power suit is the only body available at Omicron. Did Johan Ross want Simon to do this using Herber’s body specifically, or did he not care about whose body Simon chose as long as it would allow him to come to Site Alpha?
2. Is this how Ross knows Simon’s name?

I've already beaten the game on my PS4 and loved it granted I did first hear about the game back in 2015 thru Youtube gaming channel Bowlingotter and watched their playthrough of it. Anyways, I wanted to know if this particular occurence happened to anyone else. So, as I crashed the shuttle then got out of it, I ran straight towards the ringing intercom thing then went up the ladder but as I went to swipe, I had accidentally forgot to grab the Omnitool. I forget what Simon says but there is dialogue for when that happens. So, I go back down to get the Omnitool but as I turn the camera towards the Shuttle and walk towards it, I noticed not only the shuttle's lights but I also noticed the WAU figure (later realizing now that that was Johan Ross).

So, no spoilers please, but you know how every so often you find someone that you can unplug and let die? Does it affect anything one way or the other? Same with deleting various brain scans later, like your own.

So I'm currently going towards the Curie section, and I think I have been filtered. I got a bit lost and had to use a guide, but all it said was, "Climb up the ladder, squeeze through some small spaces, and come out the other end." Simple right? But as you can see, I have no such small spaces; all I have is a dead end, a dead end with pipes and an open ceiling? Did I miss something?
