Over the past 2 weeks since I’ve had my account, it’s almost always the same people liking my videos/pics. I get used to seeing their profile pic when the notifications come in. Sometimes idk if they’re viewing my profile too, since they like more than one of my videos at once. So if they’re continuously engaged then why aren’t they following me? Are they bots? They have profiles that are relevant to my account, which is a tribute page for a video game. Is this a reflection of my content? Some of these people have a lot of followers too, I’m guessing they’re finding me on their fyp.

The small-business social media threads that feel most useful to me all point to the same thing:

the problem is rarely “we need more posts.”

It is usually something more specific:

• customers do not understand the price
• people do not know what to choose first
• the booking or cancellation rule is not clear
• the location is inconvenient
• the owner has proof, but no simple way to package it
• the offer is real, but the post does not remove any hesitation

For local businesses, I think a better brief is:

“What customer hesitation should this post remove?”

That might become a menu graphic, a short process clip, a first-visit explainer, or a pinned FAQ.

For people managing social for local services or small shops:

what customer hesitation has produced better content for you than a normal promo post?

I've been learning more about social media management and noticed that sometimes simple, authentic content performs better than highly polished posts. For those managing business or creator accounts, what's one strategy that's consistently helped you increase engagement? It could be content planning, posting times, hooks, captions, community management, or something else. I'd love to hear what's worked for you.

Almost every online community is forced into the same few platforms.

A founders’ community and a cooking community need completely different things. They value different contributions, interact differently and have different reasons for participating.

Yet they are usually given the same feeds, likes, comments and follower counts.

Large social platforms cannot deeply serve every community because they need one system that works well enough for billions of people.

That could be about to change.

Building software has become dramatically cheaper and faster. Communities can now have products designed around their specific goals, culture and behavior. Not simply a generic feed with a niche name, but features, incentives and structures shaped around what the community is actually trying to accomplish.

A founders’ network might prioritize useful feedback and introductions. A cooking community might organize shared recipes, substitutions and results. A local community might prioritize trust and real-world participation.

The next generation of social media may not be another platform attempting to replace the largest networks. It may be thousands of smaller networks, each organized around a particular community and a meaningful activity beyond posting.

Once purpose-built platforms become affordable, will communities still choose to live permanently inside networks that were never designed for them?

I am needing help, big time. I am a Wedding & Portrait Photographer. I don't have a huge social media following. My Facebook page only just crossed 1200 followers a few months ago after being on the platform for several years but I do okay there engagement wise. I restarted my Instagram page last year and am just struggling to get any kind of engagement, it's honestly depressing. I have a little over 300 followers but I'm lucky if 4 or 5 people like anything. I see other photographers who started their page last year, no reels, maybe 7 posts, 30-50 likes or more.

It's honestly messing with me mentally because I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm only posting this for someone to critique and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Is it the quality of my work? Is it that I'm not saying the right things? Is my name a turn off?

So I’m based in the Uk for the last 2 years I’ve been averaging 100-200 million views a month on my page but since the beginning of this year I’ve not been posting took long breaks and my current monthly views is 3 million. I was just curious if I got back to posting again consistently and getting 100-200 million monthly views how much money could I realistically make? I never started this page to make money I did it to build a community and I hope to launch my own brand or merch so if there is a possibility to generate money I’d use it to invest in this.

F25 started posting this week and I’m feeling discouraged already. I know you have to post a lot and it takes dedication to get pay off in the end but I’m seeing a lot of moms trying to post the same stuff and not having much success. I’m pretty unique in the way I parent and raise my kids and feel like a lot of people could relate and enjoy my content. I have good information to share from working in the mental health field as well i just dont know how to make it or if its even feasible with the comp in my niche. Any advice is appreciated thank you

Edit: I am also doing this behind my husband’s back to pay off debt we were left with after his former boss screwed us. I can’t work due to being at home with the kids so he’s working two jobs I started this to see if I could make enough to actually pay things off so he doesn’t have to work 2 jobs

Hi everyone! I am a tattoo artist and shop owner and I’m trying to decide the best method to share “artist profiles” as a pinned post on our page. Until recently, I had 5 employees including myself so I made one carousel post pinned at the center that included 3 slides for each artist. Basically imagine 1 slide dedicated to the artist name/fun facts etc and two slides dedicated to the actual work, and the artist in action. This layout performed really well so I’m not looking to change it. The problem is IG caps carousels to 20 slides but I now have 7 employees (21 slides if the same format is used). I *think* the direction I’m leaning towards is a pinned center post saying “meet the team” and pinned carousel posts on the top left and right for the artist profiles but the question is HOW should I split them? Originally I was thinking all the girls at the shop on one side and all the guys on the other? Can’t split by style since some artists advertise multiples styles.

I know this question might seem dumb but I really am just looking for some thoughts/suggestions. TIA!

I'm getting 50k views on IG reals, and on TikTok barely scraping 500-700. Even on my POOR performing IG reels I'm getting at least 700 in 24 hours and sometimes on TikTok am barely getting 300 in the same time frame.

Meanwhile I have 4k+ followers on TikTok and less than 1K on IG (the IG account is newer).

I can't figure out what is going on and why I'm not getting views on TikTok. If my videos were bad they wouldn't perform on either platform right? I've gotten bigger TikTok videos before as well. Usually I pull in at least one video a week that gets 10-20k.

My niche is food content if it helps any.

Ok so one thing I’ve noticed in general is how much more low brow young content is.

Whenever I see older people on YouTube they are normally talking about their skill / niche (a recruiter talking about hiring, a pilot about airplane accidents, a former athlete about their sport). And you can tell in their domain they normally know what they are talking about. And because they have a niche skill they can probably generate content off it.

With younger creators though it often appears more superficial (dancing, goofiness). I assume with younger people their audience is people their age who relate to them. But what happens to the 18 year old TikTok/youtube dancer when they are 30? Their audience has aged out, there is new 18 year old doing the goofy stuff. Like do most of them have a shelf life if they don’t build a tangible YouTube skill or do you think they can adapt?

Rolled out this week: Replace Audio for feed posts and carousels. Open the post, Edit, Replace Audio, pick a new track from the library, save. Likes, comments, shares, and reach all stay intact.

What strikes me is the pattern, not the feature. This is the 4th post-publish edit Instagram has shipped recently: grid rearranging, carousel reordering, per-slide captions, and now audio. They're systematically dismantling the idea that a published post is final.

Practical implications I can see:

• Deleting and re-uploading was always a worse trade than it looked. You didn't just lose the like count, you lost the social proof and the algorithmic history that keeps older posts resurfacing. A re-upload starts from zero. Now there's no reason to pay that tax over a soundtrack.
• Posts that got muted over music licensing can get their audio back. A silent post is basically a dead post, so that's free reach.
• Trending audio used to be a race you could only run at publish time. Now your whole back catalog is in the race. An old carousel can ride this week's sound.

We tested it by picking a few older posts that still perform, noting their reach as a baseline, and swapping in a currently trending track. Checking back in a week - essentially an A/B test on proven content with zero new production.

Anyone else playing with this yet? Curious whether refreshed posts actually get picked up by recommendations or if the boost is marginal.

I'm a freelancer who has worked in marketing, social media, and project management for the past 7 years. I mostly work with startups that don't get very far (because they have a very slim budget), so my clients usually only last about 8 months.

I currently have lots of free time because my work is low. What AI tools/skills should I learn to strengthen my career?

I thought about AI for project management but I don't even have a PMP so idk if it's worth it.

I should also add that I work these jobs to get by. My real passion is music and I am working towards a career in that industry. But until I get there, I want to be smart about having a backup and staying on top of how everything is evolving.

Maybe it's just me but growing on Instagram feels much harder now than it did a couple of years ago. A reel can get decent views but then the next few posts barely reach anyone. New followers come in but a lot of them don't stick around or engage later.

I've been trying posting more consistently, switching up hashtags, paying more attention to what actually performs, it still feels hit or miss most of the time.
