Graduated from this school 3 years ago and did super well. Honestly, because of SNHU I’ve gained a lot of confidence when it comes to career goals! But I’m struggling a lot to find a good career and was wondering if reaching out to them about certain jobs I’ve applied to that match my experiences would help or at least get me an interview. I know the school doesn’t owe me anything, but I think with how the job market is, I don’t think it doesn’t hurt to ask. Would anyone know how to do this or has done it? I know we have a career page but wanted to get some input on this idea. Thank you!

I got my BM date and it is showing my refund as a lot less than anticipated. I did the form to increase my loan amount to the max (don’t judge me I know I have to pay it back I am financially struggling a bit at the moment) and I never got any kind of reply from student financial services or confirmation they received my form or anything I have sent a couple follow up emails and still nothing. Can anyone ease my worries that I will still receive my anticipated payment?

I was half way through the peregrine exams and fell sick (flu). I went back to complete it today and realized it expired, I had no ideas it was even graded. Took me from an A to B. Is this instructor able to reset if I explain to them?

I’ve already had enough bad experiences with group projects in high school and my previous college coursework. Don’t get me wrong - I am beyond grateful what SNHU has done for me; if not for this school, then I would not be able to finish my education. But man, assigning group projects for a school that is devoted to remote learning is objectively dumb.

As the case has been with my previous experiences with group projects, I’ve shouldered the burden and done all the work, and yet again history is repeating itself for me with a group project 🙃

One thing’s for sure - there is no way I am letting my group partners get the same grade that I am. None of my partners have made any effort to respond to me, so that’s on them. I understand that nobody likes group projects, especially in an online learning setting, but at least make the effort to communicate.

Where do i see if they approved my pathways test? Do i get an email or how's that all go? I know you can view your score after but its been just about 2 weeks. Im testing out of a math class for my final term in C5 and we're getting close lol

Missing submission notifications

I don't know what changed, but recently I haven't been receiving submission notifications

Today, I saw 4 items in my "junk" folder in Outlook...

Opened it up and lo and behold

Had to whitelist the [email protected]

If you are also missing notifications, check your junk folder

Depending on your device and version of outlook , there are too many ways to add the email to your whitelist to list them all here

What I did was go into my Junk folder,

clicked the email notification from SNHU

MOVED IT BACK TO INBOX

When I did that, I got a pop up that asked me if I NEVER wanted to send an email from that sender to Junk.

I said yes or whatever the affirmative choice was to NOT block the sender and not to send it to junk

Outlook then gave me a notification that the sender was added to my "safe senders list"

I’ve seen people ask about essay services here before, so I figured I’d share what happened when I tried one during a particularly rough term.

To be clear, I wasn’t looking for someone to complete an assignment and submit it under my name. That would obviously violate SNHU’s academic integrity rules. I mainly needed help because I had a draft that technically answered the prompt, but it was a mess. My argument kept wandering, the paragraphs felt disconnected, and APA formatting was slowly turning into my personal enemy.

I searched for the “best essay writing service,” which was probably not the smartest search phrase because most results immediately promised perfect grades and ridiculously fast delivery. Huge red flag. I eventually chose a service that offered editing and feedback instead of only selling completed papers.

The editor reorganized a few sections, pointed out where I was repeating myself, and explained why two of my sources didn’t really support my argument. They also fixed some citation mistakes. The most useful part was the comments left throughout the document because I could actually see what needed improvement.

There were downsides. The first editor made the introduction sound way too formal, like it had been written by a professor from 1897. I asked them to keep my normal voice, and the revision was much better. It also wasn’t cheap for a student budget, especially since SNHU already has tutoring and writing resources.

Overall, I think an essay writing service can be useful for proofreading, structure, or detailed feedback when you’re completely stuck. I would not trust one to write an entire assignment, though. Besides the academic integrity issue, you have no idea whether the writer understands the rubric or whether the work is original.

Has anyone here paid for professional editing before? Did it actually help, or was the feedback basically the same as what you could get through SNHU resources?

Hi, I’m currently on my 2nd term at SNHU after transferring 60 credits. I’ve been doing 2 classes a term and just found out there’s an overload option to take more. What exactly does it take for them to let you add additional courses?

Has anyone encountered an instructor using "AI" in response posts and feedback? I ran into this for the first time this semester and it's driving me mad. What am I even paying for? I have to interact with AI from students, which takes away from my education and that's not a matter of opinion, and now this? The worst part is there is always a level of plausible deniability with AI. I tell them I put the text through five different detectors and they can just say their structure and words come across that way. All of their replies.

I didn't really know who to talk to so I called my student advisor. She said, "I don't know that there is a rule against that." She also said she would get back to me after asking coworkers but I'm sure you can guess whether or not she did that.

Does anyone know who I can call about this? I will never use AI if I can help it but at this point I'm on the fence about giving a shit about others using it.

Just here to say the work load for this class is actual horseshit. Staff if you read this, maybe let’s not assign multiple labs which has multiple steps that require 5-10 minute loading periods turning your labs into hours long event that you cannot sign out of due to losing all progress.

I have been stuck in the circle of secondary confirmation hell for over 25 days. Financial aid wouldn’t and couldn’t tell me anything and many calls have been put into them and got no response except through email where they tell me I’m still being investigated. It’s so irritating I got so lucky to have a friend lend me the money for term but I need to get it paid back. I can’t afford to not have financial aid. How long is this supposed to take?

I’m thinking of getting an associate degree in business administration. Is it worth it? I want to go back to college but don’t have time to go in person and online just sounds good but how is it online? Is there proctored testing? Is that degree hard?

Any advice is appreciated!!

Is anyone taking PHE 330 or SOC 318 this term?

i’ll go first. i’ve been at this a little over a year according to my academic evaluation. I’m about 70% done give or take. i’ve done IRL college at a couple schools. SNHU is my first strictly online attempt. while I knew that these were accelerated of courses, I didn’t predict how fast I would get burnt out. of course my ADHD is a big factor, but I also think it is how continuous the process is. module after module. The term ends on a Sunday. The next term starts the very next day. all year around.

I don’t hate my major, CJ with concentration cybercrime, however, with courses an terms in such quick succession, it just seems like one really long class. this term was the first term where one of the courses is a concentration requirement rather and thank goodness. I haven’t been titillated in months. all the classes are basically the same.

and then there’s a tiny factor of me hating my life anytime I get a female instructor, which has been rare, thank goodness. it’s always a treat to have to endure the internalized misogyny that comes with a female instructors who are insecure in their authority. but that’s a bigger discussion for a different day.

what are some things that contribute to your burnout and how do you combat them?

For a lot of my essay assignments, I’ll legit have to write a 2-3 page essay based off of one singular question that’s been rephrased like 4-5 times. I feel like I am constantly repeating myself to the point where I’m always adding “as previously stated” for every question that’s rephrased

I am a 30-year-old community college dropout. I had a rough upbringing and spent all of my adult life in active addiction... Until the start of this year, I was newly sober and made a commitment to make my next move my best move.

I did a ton of research into different online universities. I found out that many of them are not accredited or are diploma mills. But I kept reading amazing things about SNHU. I, almost playfully, applied and inquired about getting my bachelor's in Human Services.

I almost failed out of high school 10+ years ago and graduated by the skin of my teeth with a 2.5 GPA. Now I have straight A's at SNHU. I am so committed to my education and want nothing more than to make a better life for myself.

The courses are outlined in an understandable way, and so far all of my professors have been extremely kind and resourceful.

Any time I've needed to reach out to administration for help with something, they have all been very attentive and helpful.

I'm on track to become the first, albeit the first woman, in my family to get a college degree. I would recommend their programs to anyone interested in furthering their education.
