Showcase ARCOLA - A 1930's Midwestern City - UPDATE - River Market District
Here we see the bustling River Market in Arcola. Farmers from all over the region are selling fresh produce. Merchants are selling fresh fruit fresh off the trains. A steamboat has brought in a cargo of whiskey from Kentucky. All sorts of goods are available here, from potatoes to pelts, to dry goods, soap, and salt.
This set up is LOOSELY based on the 1930's era river market in my hometown of Kansas City. The initial settlement started here, as it was a good place for steamboats to dock. Overtime as Arcola has grown, the downtown moved inland but the area remains a vital trade center and economic engine for the city.
I have attached 2 actual pictures to show my inspiration for this. 1 is the river front in St. Louis MO in 1930. My brick riverfront is based in this. Many midwestern cities along navigable rivers had similar setups. The other is Les Halles from Paris central market area. This is where my main market buildings are from. Paris had several more, I just used 2.
Hop[e y9ou enjoy!

Questions & Help CAM region connected cities not growing.
Recently I got CAM and NAM for sc4 and have been having a blast. However recently for some reason I've been troubled by my regions not growing as fast they would in an already developed region in vanilla. I had the same trouble with my previous installation with over 1 million regional population. Checking RCI I know that my r$ demand is high enough for development. When I made a new town and connected it via rail and road I zoned medium density residential. Yet nothing developed except the normal houses. I have water, garbage, a clinic, and police. Please let me know if this is something CAM exclusive, a bug or simply me underestimating how much regional population I need for a new city to start building apartments right off the get go.

Showcase Establishing a Lumber Industry - Ausubo, Kingdom of Borike
I'm sure all of you have cities building up and building out non-stop, but where do you guys get the required construction materials to do that non-stop!? This is where my region, the Kingdom of Borike, gets its forestry resources, feeding construction, furniture, paper and other wood-related industries! Been meaning to create a scene like this for ages, and finally made it happen.

Showcase My downtown
Hello, I just wanted to show my first successfull downtown in a city.
I've just developed high skylines around the downtown to force sims to use the streets and make the offices more profitable by having too much clients, i'm combining the public bus transport with a side-by-side dynamic (industrial zone is below and to go there, streets are connected from left to right)

Questions & Help Constant flickering with dgVoodoo
I've been trying to follow the SC4Evermore guide to set up SC4 on modern computers and having trouble with dgVoodoo. It seems like no matter what settings I use dgVoodooCpl.exe causes flickering in game.
I have set the default GPU for simcity4 as my NVIDIA GPU in my Graphics settings. I have updated my GPU drivers. I have installed modPacc Zero with SC4Pac. The flickering is caused by something in dgVoodoo since it doesn't flicker without dgVoodoo.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? For the time being I just uninstalled dgVoodoo and am playing on 1080p instead of 1440p and the game doesn't flicker.
My dgVoodoo settings were
General:
Output API: Best available one
Adapters to use: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
Full Screen Output: Default
DirectX:
Videocard: dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card
VRAM: 4096 MB
Resolution: 2560x1440 (matched SC4GraphicsOptions.ini settings)
The only checked boxes are Application controlled fullscreen/windowed and dgVoodoo watermark.

Questions & Help A few transit questions regarding bus stops, trains, avenues, and grid size.
Good morning, I've tried to find this information, but ai has ruined google search and was not helpful.
With the NAM installed, how far apart should I be placing my bus stops? I read somewhere on here that sims will now walk ~40 tiles to get to their destination, so I'm placing train stations and bus stops about 32-40 tiles apart. I see sims walking quite far to use the trains, which is fantastic, but I don't see the same for my bus stops.
Regarding trains and elevated rail, is there any great reason to build a monorail network alongside a train network? I am aware that monorail is faster, but having both systems seems redundant and messy. If I'm correct, wealthy sims happily use regular trains, and regular trains are also able to move industrial products, which makes them seem more efficient.
Regaring avenues vs. streets, I've been playing with using avenues instead of roads as my primary network building block, and I'm wondering if the payoff is worth it as far as congestion and traffic speed goes. I have far less space to work with by prioritizing avenues.
Lastly, and this may be more of a personal preference question, is there an ideal size for the space between streets for zoning? I've been using 6x6 as a one-size-fits-all solution for everything but agriculture, which I typically let make it's giant zones.
Thanks in advance, If anyone has an answer I would appreciate it. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Showcase Arcola - 1930's Midwestern City - UPDATE - Meat Packing Plant
Some of you might remember the stockyard I made a while back. Many midwestern cities had huge stockyards back then. And right next to those were huge packing plants consisting of multiple buildings that took up several blocks. If anything the plant I've made here is undersized, but I hope you get the idea of what I was going for with this.
Please take a look at Stietz Meats! Located adjacent to the Arcola Stockyards, this plant provides beef for Arcola and the surrounding region. You can proudly serve Stietz Meats to your friends and family! Stietz! You can't beat our meat! Byproducts like cowhides and tallow are also produced. The plant is served by rail and truck. I will be building a second, distinct plant next to this one soon as it was typical that there would be 2 or more packers near stockyards.
(I don't want to tell you how many times I had to revise each lot to make those skyways all match up.....ugh!)

Questions & Help About to play SimCity 4 Deluxe for the first time!!!
So, after all the mods and downloads to make sure SimCity 4 Deluxe runs well and added content, I am ready to dive right in!! But before that, can you guys offer any hints, tips or words of wisdom for a complete SimCity newbie? I played SimCity Classic a LONG time ago, long enough that I remember very little. The only Sim game I played in the past 20 years or so was SimAnt. Is there anything I should know before I jump into it, feet first? Any and all help is appreciated!!

Questions & Help Underground Street Viaduct Traffic (NAM)
Am I doing something wrong with the street viaducts? It seems whenever I lay one down the game treats it as an intersection and traffic always turns red going underneath my avenues. I have the newest version of NAM. I add both viaducts to each side of the avenue and then have the viaduct path straight across.

Questions & Help How to fix sidewalk grass strips?
Quick question that I’ve had trouble googling a fix for.
When I place a civic building down in a low residential area, then later rezone for medium or high density, the sidewalk doesn’t appear to properly update.
How can I fix this?
It’s a very minor annoyance but it is annoying me.
I found a mod that changes the sidewalks to all be the same thickness while retaining the wealth textures, but I don’t like how it looks because it means low density suburbs have thick urban sidewalks.
Any tips or tricks are appreciated!
