Hello fellow sewing community! I am looking for a good pattern to make with this rad linen. I have a couple of pairs of the Sepia pants from Closet Core which I love but I am looking to branch out a bit, either another pair of pants or a dress. My style is pretty California/Bay Area casual, I have three kids who are all involved in sports, theater or band so that is where I spend the majority of my time. Would love some pattern suggestions, thank you in advance

I have a vision in my head of a sleeveless, cropped, A-line button-up shirt. I've looked all over, but the only one I've found is this one. Given the price, I'm a little worried the pattern might be AI-generated (it's like 3€).

I know I could just order it and see, or even design it myself... but honestly, I don't have the mental bandwidth for either starting a new pattern from scratch or making lots of adjustments right now.

If anyone has seen something similar (or knows a brand or pattern that's close), I'd be incredibly grateful! 🤍

I was flipping through an old sewing book (the Stretch & Sew pants book) and found this illustration (#3) of a pants pattern with the most interesting yoke! I can’t get it out of my head.

Are there any patterns that have a similar multi-curved yoke? Or just a more interesting yoke than standard pants / jeans? I’m not quite advanced enough to draft this myself. Open to Big 4 but indie pattern designers preferred!

A lot of what I find are pdf-only companies, and while I've done the print, tape, cut thing it's expensive and I don't currently have easy access to the library or print shops. I have a pattern from Simplicity but I'm wondering if other brands reprint paper patterns ?

Hi all! I’m in search of a great wrap dress pattern for knits. I have some awesome knit fabric to use up and I’d love a cute wrap dress.

Ideally it would be:

• sleeveless or at least have short sleeve options so it’s suitable for summer. If short sleeve, maybe a flutter sleeve?
• True wrap style, rather than faux wrap.
• fit and flare style, so more flared than the Cashmerette Appleton dress, which I initially looked at
• A good fit for busty with a smaller waist
• Bonus points if it’s a simple fun sew!

Anyone found such a pattern?

I made this Jean pattern based on my pant block, just looking for any feedback or anything I should be looking for

I have some nice thrifted challis and want to make something simple and breezy like this. I found plenty of patterns with gathered waists and it would be easy enough to add another elastic, but I'm kind of confused about the neck as it doesn't look like the elastic goes all the way around. Any suggestions? I'm a confident beginner I'd say. Thanks so much!

I want to make a cute bag to gift to my friend whom I'm meeting next month. I don't have her measurements and I also want it to be a surprise. I'm also only taking carry on so I don't have much luggage space. We're meeting in Prague so I was thinking something like this so she can even use right away on a night out. What do you guys think? Any other pattern or idea?

I was reviewing the Paloma Pants pattern and it uses an inserted gore to get the volume required for the wide flowy legs. However, this causes a disruption in the fabric if I were to use a patterned fabric and I'm not a fan of the seams.

Do you think I could cut the legs as a single front and single back piece?

I am in love with this dress and would love to replicate it in different colours, but I’m having trouble finding a dress pattern with the tie at the waist. Does anyone have any pattern suggestions? Im wondering if I could even splice a top and skirt together?

I've seen this dress on etsy and I would love to make it for my dance classes, so I have been considering purchasing the pattern. I don't even know if I am XS or S because according to bust and hips I should be XS but according to waist I should be S. I am around 160 cm tall so I have been wondering how long the dress are, because I am afraid it might be too short. Doesn anyone have any experience with this pattern?

Absolutely obsessed with the fit of this dress but not the price… Looking for a similar pattern because I am interested in making it myself! However if anyone has any experience with this brand and the dress is actually worth that price I am willing to purchase it because I love the pattern and allegedly, this is an exclusive fabric.

It's been a difficult couple of years with chronic illness, trauma, stress, etc etc. Anyway, I found the perfect dress for my changing and often painful body.

I feel good in it, it fits in all the right places, and it's comfortable! The baggy bits over the hips are POCKETS and it swishes in the most delightful way!

I've found two second hand so far, but I can't seem to find the BLACK version in my size (a NZ/AU 16 or small in the label's plus size range) so I thought I'd look into making one.

I'm an experienced sewer and will take my least favourite of the two dresses apart to make a pattern if needed, but life would be easier if someone could point me towards a similar pattern so I can DIY a bunch of Perfect Dresses!

So I have this little guy that has been in my head for a long time and I finally drew him and I would love to make him. I’m getting into sewing with a sewing machine and I think you’d be really fun to make, but I have no clue how to make a pattern for this I would be willing to pay someone to make a one! Or tips on how I could make it myself

Does anyone have a pattern for a child’s overalls or romper size 18 months? I’ve purchased 2 separate ones on Etsy, and both times the 18 month fit like a 3-6month. I’ve double checked the pattern and even gave it to my friend. She made it and said the same thing. I’m trying to make a few of them for my son, and I’m kinda skeptical about buying a 3rd for it to not fit again.

Picture is just an example, I’m open to any style of caftan! Or even other types of coverups. I have some knit fabric that is a bit too thin for a shirt or dress, and I’d like to make some poolside stuff for a trip in a couple weeks. The issue is, all the caftan patterns I’m finding are for woven fabric.

There may be a reason for this, and feel free to tell me if a knit fabric coverup is a terrible idea lol. Other than that, though, I’m decently experienced with sewing w stretch fabrics, so I’m not concerned about that aspect of things.

So questions—

- Would it be difficult to adjust the woven caftan patterns for knit fabric? How should I do so?

- Does anyone know of any knit fabric coverup patterns?

i have been making jeans with selvedge denim but every time I try it on, the back leaves a gap. Is there a way to take it in using the pattern.

I decided to humour this scammer for a bit to see what they would say. Please don't believe anyone who messages you out of the blue with offerings of services or goods. The messages are made with AI, the pictures are stolen and the example of a "dress pattern" they sent me is bogus and AI generated.

When in doubt, always ask for proof of work, use a thing like Google Lens to reverse search the images, and use your common sense. Why would someone talk about taking the pattern to a dress maker when I'm a sewist myself, in a reddit full of sewists?
