Our power has been flickering all night, near Lansdowne. I'm not sure if it's just our unit, our building, or a wider area. I imagine with the heat the power grid is at heavy load with everyone running AC.

If any of you are walking your dogs along Moffat Rd towards Minoru in the mornings watch out for this one white/white-grey cavipoo(?) or curly hair dog called "Jarvis".

Owner was just talking on her phone with a loose leash in her hand and dog roaming freely on the sidewalk. I stopped at a distance and asked if she can leash her dog so I can go past with mine, and she gives this look of annoyance and begrudgingly does. I start moving and the dog suddenly bolts forward charging at my dog. No attempt whatsoever on the woman's part to stop the retractable leash from extending.

I don't really gaf if your dog's off leash and extremely well mannered, and sticks right next to you. But if you know that your dog's reactive and you're still doing this shit, that's unacceptable.

I just saw Evo’s update saying they now allow one-way drop-offs in Surrey. Is there a reason Evo doesn’t have a home zone in Richmond? It would be convenient to have home zone in bridgeport or richmond center.

Any places with some good beet salad??? I thought good bowl had it but not too sure… any recommendations?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give an update and say thank you again for everyone's input. For the past month I have been working hard to implement the suggestions, and we are starting to see some results!

• Onigiris and other grab & go foods are selling! I put in a display fridge last week and it's been selling steadily. On Saturday we sold close to 100 grab and go items including onigiris, musubis and sandos
• I put up little signs that let customers know no tipping is required
• I added a whole Value Menu section with foods that are more economical, including a $10.99 beef rice bowl, $14.99 poke bowl, and $9.99 vegetarian curry
• We are working with UberEats, Doordash, and Fantuan to offer deals that we normal don't. They're helping us by subsidizing part of the discount so we can offer maximum value to diners
• Invited many, many content creators to come try our food and spread the word!
• We launched a Kids Meal (adults are welcome to order) which comes in a cute little box and is under $10. It seems to be a hit with our younger patrons so far!
• Made new signage for new customers so they know they are welcome to order at the counter OR automated kiosk
• Added a self-serve condiment station for customers
• Lowered prices on a lot of items in general

What's wrong with people?

Any soup kitchens in Richmond I can volunteer at?

It's midnight and a light-grey tabby without a collar just wandered slowly through my yard, near Garry and Railway.

I stepped outside, it gave me a gentle meow, then continued slowly over the West fence.

Considering the time of day, lack of collar, and it's not a cat I've seen before, I worry that it's somebody's lost/escaped pet. It looked healthy and wasn't spooked by me, so I doubt it's a stray.

Are there any gyms with AC? Usually go to Anytime Fitness but they don’t usually turn on the AC or their AC is not powerful enough to combat the heat. Felt like I was going to pass out yesterday. Might drop in today and tomorrow.

Anyone else just got an Amber alert blaring through their entire home thanks to their phone just a few seconds ago? This the 2nd time in recent times this Alert got sent out in the middle of the night.

Just a public awareness post re: an uncomfortable incident I experienced today at Rideau Park.

I pulled up my car with my partner and parked on Saunders rd beside the park, I was scanning the situation before we got out of the car, there was only two people present- an older gentlemen standing on the sideline beneath a shady tree, and a woman with a stroller just past him in the distance.

I joked about the man being in the only shady spot, but as I did his strange demeanour kind of caught my eye ..I continued to watch him whilst my partner gathered their things.. sure enough, within a couple seconds of being there he proceeded to pull down his pants, and then his underwear, and then just stood there fully upright with his hands on his hips and junk exposed- notably pointing himself in the direction of the lady with the stroller .. I said to my partner, “did that man really just pull his pants down?”, my partner pulled out his phone and used the zoom feature on his camera to confirm we were, indeed, staring at this man’s naked buttocks from the back.

The whole entire time this is happening and we’re confirming this is happening, he remained in this position with his attention fixated on this woman, who was now retreating in horror. Once or twice he looked backwards in our direction, I’m certain he also saw us staring, and our phone out, but didn’t care.. or maybe enjoyed it, I don’t know. My partner, having now realized this situation for what it is, jumps out the car and approaches him, yelling for his attention (which he ignores until he’s just a few feet away) and demanding he put his clothes back on. He obliged, begrudgingly, with an annoyed demeanor, and then started making his way towards the playground which was filled with kids.

ATP, my partner alerted the nearby parents whilst I called the police 🙈 when they arrived, the man claimed he just couldn’t wait to use the washroom. This is absolutely not what I witnessed. He was just standing there, exposing himself, for a long while. An incident report was made & everyone’s information was recorded, including the nanny whom he’d been targeting with the stroller, but that’s the most that’ll likely come of it so I wanted to post here for community awareness. I’m guessing this man is a local to that area, which is unfortunate considering the close proximity of the school and playground.

This was an elderly Asian fella, maybe 50-60 years old.
