Which retro system is best for beginner gamedev if I want to play my game on an R36s (ArkOS)? (GBA, GBC, Pico-8, Megadrive, etc.)

Hi everyone!

I’m have a R36S with old ArkOS, and I looking to dive into retro game development, but I want to keep things easy and fun for my first project. My primary goal is to make a finished game relatively fast without learning some difficult thing like assembly, or something like that

Which target platform would you recommend me starting with, and what tools/engines do you use?
