Advice (Witchcraft Related) For posts asking for ANY kind of spell interpretation

I recently posted this on *yet another* post where someone was asking for help with interpreting a spell, so I thought I would post this here as well bc we constantly see these posts everywhere.

So as nicely as I can possibly say this... Lol.

I KEEP seeing people posting random pictures of candles burning, pictures of melted wax, random pictures of flames, etc.

I'm sorry but here is the problem when you ask for readings in this fashion: you put a picture of melted wax, random flame or candles, and ask people to help read it... Without telling us what the spell was *even about* in the first place, or without telling us the feelings and thoughts you had while the candle was burning. Or *anything* else pertaining to the actual spell itself.

Now, even if you DO include details about your spell, I personally do not believe that you should try to *divine* a proactive spell in the first place. - including a "cord cutting." - (And I think that the majority of us feel the same.) Bc trying to divine a spell you just cast? All that does is cast doubt ALL over the spell you just worked so hard to send out. And all that doubt will hinder your results *because* when you cast a spell, you have to try to KNOW that it's already worked. Divination here is 100% counterproductive to what you're trying to accomplish! You must be in control.

BUT you *can* cast spells, and candle spells, SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of divination. The purpose of those types of spells is to get further information on a situation and how it may be playing out. And reading the flame and wax from those is obviously necessary. (I'd like to mention that you CAN do these two kinds of spells together, but one must be before the other. Not together in one.)

HOWEVER, regardless of whatever the case is, you can't just share a random picture of wax and ask us to read it... With no context or background whatsoever... I'm sorry but it doesn't work that way.

Okay now I'm done lol.

Happy spellcasting everyone!

Sunday Fun-Day We're now allowing memes and infographics on Sundays!

As a "thank you" to our community, and to have a little fun, we're now allowing sub-related memes and quotes (or what-have you) on Sundays!

Also we have added the option for "post flairs" on all posts now. If anyone has anymore good ideas for more "post-flair" titles? Or more week day ideas? Please feel free to share! I'd like to have fun with those too.

Love to you all 💜

Sharing Witchy Knowledge 🧹 Witchcraft is About the Individual

No two paths are identical.

Friendly PSA that witch craft is a highly individualized practice that is deeply connected to one’s ancestors, unique sociological & psychological make up & cultural genealogy.

No matter how cool another person’s path looks from the outside one shouldn’t strive to exactly copy another witch’s path, energy, personality, etc. That’s not healthy, it’s not even witch craft, it’s just seeking to escape into the life of another witch & that’s not an empowering act.

We’re all unique individuals who are at our best when we embrace that reality. Seeking to emulate rather than learn is a step backward, not forward.

It’s so important to discover the self as a witch, not to try to get lost escaping into being another witch. Our own paths have to be walked in our own metaphorical shoes, not those of other witches.

Advice🕯️(Witchcraft Related) Opinions Requested

Upvotes

Hi, y'all! I'm leaning heavily toward creating a YouTube channel about basic witchcraft. The concept is this: I want to teach newcomers about how to get started with their practice in a way that is meaningful and *truthful*. I don't like that so many people these days "learn" from TikTok (and Pinterest, for some reason!) because they're only getting these cookie-cutter shortcuts and rehashed love spells and cord cuttings. I want them to know that witchcraft is more than that, and I want them to understand what it really means to connect with Nature.

Anyway, I have no idea what to call the channel! Besides the concept description above, I have toyed with the idea of using my online handle, Gertrude, as part of the title. Or sunflowers because they're my favorite. Or purple because it's my favorite color. I just don't know! I was hoping I could come up with something if I threw the idea out there and got some feedback!

Hello wonderful people,

I got a question, maybe you could help me.

1 year ago I received a motanka doll called Žadanica from a witch. She told me I could tell her my wish, then I need to gift her something and then I can put her on my shelf or altar.

At first I greeted her everyday and it helped me to fulfill my wish but I haven't done it for almost half a year. I want to start over again, can you please help me

my boyfriend has been having a really hard time lately. he struggles with chronic mental and physical illnesses and i wanted to try and give him some extra blessings!

this is my first time doing this kind of spell and i want to know what i can improve on for next time!

i used a pink candle to represent his physical health and green for his energy/mental health. i oiled them and rolled in rosemary, cinnamon, green tea leaves, some garlic powder, and nutmeg! all of this was after my salt circle btw

i said a prayer for the blessings i want to send to him, gave my energy out (the flames went CRAZY during this) and even though the pink candle was slightly taller it burned the fastest! the wax mixed together so nicely i added it to my blessing

any kind critique or advice welcomed! i want to try and do this more often for my friends and family when ik they’re struggling

Spell Help🧪(With Context) Spell for buying the house I live in

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hello,

I might just want your help with a spell.
Im living in a rent house right now but I have discussed with the owner of the house to buy it.
She didn’t gave me a very clear response, ( she has years telling me “I want to sell the house” and no action, just words) but I know that she wants to sell it.
I was thinking maybe I can do a spell so that this house belongs to me.
I have been living in this house for 10 years now and its the only home i know.
I really want this one and no other. I don’t want to give up.
I know that the house has my energy and all,for all these years, but maybe some spell might help so I can be the one to buy it.
Im new to spells and magic but I have hope that it will help me with this problem I have.
Thank you !

Spell Help🧪(With Context) Spell for passing an exam?

Hi, I have a board exam coming up very soon, and I don't have a lot of time to study ( I will study) I have been keeping up with the material and even when school is hard and I have long days I wake up in the morning and I go to school and then after it I study until the wee hours of the night.

However I am not remembering everything properly.. yes I am taking supplements to help me, I have a clean diet, all the normal earthly things you do before an exam, except for excerise even though I try to go on walks.... time restraints just don't let me go to the gym right now... however I will soon after the exam maybe every day.. LOL.

Anyways. I am wondering is there a spell that could help me with luck/focus during the exam or something similar? Has anyone tried it where it has worked?

Thank you to anyone who is willing to share their experience and help!

Newcomer Question🐈‍⬛ Honey Sulaiman Agate

I have a bunch of Honey Sulaiman Agate crystals in my drawer because they look gooddddd. But what can I do with it? Never heard of anyone using it nowadays. Good for spell work? All I know is that some shaman in SE Asia used it as a magical power storage (?) My uncle wears it too (he's a dukun), but I rarely get to meet him (once a year, maybe), so yeah, I can't ask him anything. So what can I use it for? wealthy? protection? abundance? hexes?

Newcomer Question🐈‍⬛ Newbie here

Hi everyone! I’m brand new to witchcraft and learning the basics. (Mods, feel free to remove this if it's off-topic!) Does this subreddit cover summonings—specifically regarding the Devil or entity trading—or is there a different community I should look into for that?

Announcement/Discussion🌙 Tourmaline cracked in window… this happen to anyone else?

Hello! Tell me if something similar has happened to anyone.

I made some wards recently and one of them was a return to sender ward sending back all negative energy sent our way. Things have calmed down in my house since. The mirror side facing out the window and the other side I put selenite with black tourmaline stacked on top!

I was looking at it recently, the tourmaline had developed two cracks going perpendicular to the striations in the tourmaline. These weren’t there when I put them up there.

Has this happened to anyone?

Newcomer Question🐈‍⬛ What is happening to me?

So idk if thats even connected, but a few months ago i made a love jar for me and my bf so we wont break up. The relationship only was forced the last two month and we broke up anyways.

However i never disposed the jar or what ever, at first i was to lazy bit the more time passed i slowly forgot about it until now.

Also since then i feel like weird things are happening to me, like guys im interested in start playing/using me, or give me a lot of attention and then just ghost me first a few days and block me silently everywhere with no context at all.

(Honestly there were just these two, the first one played me extremely and the second one gave me so much attention and suddenly ghosted me and blocked me aswell, without any reason just out the blue and it was going so well too.)

I immediately washed and cleansed the jar out, but still idk.

What do i do? Is there a spell or a Jar recipe i could possibly follow to kinda fix that mess?
I honestly only had good guys around me since always, and suddenly it shifted rapidly.

Please help me out, if theres a possible cause or explanation with a possible solution i would be soo incredibly grateful !!

Advice🕯️(Witchcraft Related) I think I am experiencing a spiritual block

Hi! As the title says, I believe I am experiencing a spiritual block. I am here to get advice on how to remove this block and connect with this side of myself.

I believe I am experiencing a block that may have been unintentionally placed by myself, but it is very possible that a block has been placed on me as a child for safety reasons. All things paranormal and witchcraft related deeply resonated with me as a child and I was particularly drawn to ancestral connections. I have had many paranormal experiences and have always been extremely successful with spell work.

My father dabbled in paganism and I grew up around his friends who actively practiced witchcraft. While spending a weekend with one of his friends as a child, I had very uncomfortable and unsafe paranormal experiences and it is possible she placed a block for protection, but I cannot confirm this. I did continue to have experiences after this and some of my most successful spell work has happened as an older teen/adult so I’m not sure if this is the case.

I have a very hard time connecting with these things now and I’m confident I’m experiencing a block because I can FEEL how strong it is.

Can anyone help me learn how I might remove this block from myself?

Advice🕯️(Witchcraft Related) help with a missing cat :(

context: my cat is about a year old, he’s an indoor/outdoor cat and has been missing for two weeks now. i practice on and off, but i’m very spiritual. i’ve been praying to baast and made an altar of simple offerings. we’ve left articles of clothing outside, called nearby vets, stuck missing posters and asked all the neighbours. it’s like he’s vanished.

my problem here is that i have quite a strong intuition. i often just… know things, like a stray thought that turns out to be true or gut feelings. recently i’ve been having frequent dreams of my cat coming back, sometimes injured and sometimes completely fine. this is happened 4x in the past week. i’m wondering if this means something or im simply just thinking too much about it. would appreciate any advice on dream interpretation and any spells/spiritual methods to bring my cat back :(

Advice🕯️(Witchcraft Related) I received a Japanese lucky charm as a gift, how can I use it in witchcraft?

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello witches! Last year I bought some fans from a thrift store app and the lady sent me this koi fish amulet as a gift, which I believe is for good luck and prosperity/abundance. Since I only really started practicing witchcraft this year, I ended up forgetting about it, but I remembered it yesterday while I was tidying up my things to do a small protection spell.

Anyway, I don't understand amulets, but how are they used in witchcraft? Do I have to recharge/cleanse the amulet like people do with crystals? It's a Japanese amulet so would I have to follow the Japanese belief?

Any article or wiki page about amulets in general would help a lot!

Advice🕯️(Witchcraft Related) Shadow Figure

Hi! I'm sort of new to the practice, but Im taking baby steps, documenting a dream journal, etc.

Today, I decided to get my own tarot cards, and I cleansed my room and cards with sage and lined my window and doorframe with salt, meditated with a candle before I pulled and during the pull I asked kind and benevolent spirits to show me what I needed to know and after interpretation I was drained so I slept it off, but woke up about midnight and winding down.

About 3am ish (could be before). I had an urge to draw some cards, which I did, and the reading didn't really make sense to me, so I forgot about it.

Then I'd say between 3:50/3:59 I saw a shadowy figure next to my bed, and not one of the usual shadowy figures you see when you're paranoid, it looked real but disappeared when i looked directly at it. I grabbed my sage and cleansed my room from negative and decieptful energies/spirits because I was (understandably) terrified, but I feel like I should've communicated with it beforehand and what should I do or keep in mind for the future?

Newcomer Question🐈‍⬛ I have some questions for practicing witches

Hello everybody, I got some questions. So just for context, I've been becoming more and more interested in learning all things witchcraft after watching films like The Craft, The Love Witch, and Forbidden Fruits. I yearn for knowledge. I used to practice making spells but couldn't tell what was my doing and what was always going to happen and so now I am on a journey to discovering more about magic and I'm hoping maybe some of you can provide me insight.

So first of all, I'm curious as to why all of you got into witchcraft.

Second, what are your religious beliefs? As I look into witchcraft, I continue to hear about paganism or Wicca and I'm not familiar with what witches believe. I assume it's different for everyone. So do you believe in multiple dieties? Do you believe only in energy? Please give me insight into what you believe and why.

And finally, i would like to know if you all create spells. Do you all practice magic in order to better your quality of life? Or is it simply something you consider an obligation in your practice? When creating spells, do you actively research into how other witches went about a spell? Do you ever offer something to a diety in exchange for success in your spell?

I'm sorry if this is a lot to think about. I'm just extremely curious and please forgive me if I have used any terminology here incorrectly.
