This is a really difficult post for our family to make.

We got Oreo about 4 months ago, and he has honestly been one of the best things to happen to us. He is a 1-year-old Holland Lop/Mini Lop and is the sweetest little bunny. He is also neutered.

Oreo is:

🐰Litter trained

 Does not nip or bite

 Very gentle and loves being pet

 A little shy at first, but once he gets comfortable with you, he becomes the most loving and amazing pet ever.

Sadly, we have to rehome him. Over the past four months, my daughter has been having a lot of asthma flare-ups and allergies. We truly tried everything we could to keep him because we love him so much, but we've realized that we have to do what's best for her health.

We considered taking him to a shelter, but Oreo means so much to us that we'd rather find him a wonderful family ourselves where we know he'll be loved and cared for.

He will come with:

Three food/water bowls

His current Oxbow Adult Rabbit Pellets

His current Oxbow Timothy Hay

A care guide we've put together explaining his daily routine, including how much pellets and romaine lettuce he eats.

One of his favorite treats is banana, but please only give him a small piece once or twice a week.

Finding the right home is much more important to us than finding a quick one. We want someone who understands that rabbits are long term commitments and will give Oreo the love, attention  and care he deserves.

I’m trying to see if anyone can help? I am currently fostering a bunny after I found it outside. Just a little bit of background, so yall know why I don’t know much about bunnies.

On Sunday night my bunny was acting lethargic was doing these weird stretches and was not eating so we decided to take her to the vet. At the vet they did x-rays and blood work, both came back negative or with no findings. They gave her pain medication when we first got there about four hours of being there she began to eat two pieces of hay. They sent us home with pain medication and G.I. meds. They diagnose her with G.I. intestinal hypermotility syndrome. When we got home, we gave her meds and within the hour she was eating and drinking water. I went to sleep after being up all night, but she began to act normal all throughout Monday and Tuesday. this morning(Wednesday) she began acting as she was on Sunday that led us to go to the ER. She is lethargic, doing stretches because she looks uncomfortable, and not eating.

I’ve called the one rabbit vet in the area and they can’t see her until Friday morning because they don’t do emergencies. I then called the ER vet and they recommended her coming in for Nause medication and fluids.

This has become a difficult situation because like I stated before this is just supposed to be a temporary situation. I never expected to ever get a bunny, i’ve tried giving her away to foster homes that foster bunny, but many that are by me either aren’t taking any bunnies or there’s just none available. I am an animal lover, so that’s why I decided to care for her instead of just dropping her off at a shelter. My partner spent $1000 on the previous ER visit and I don’t think we could do it again. We have critical care, gas relief drops, GI meds (metoclopramide), and pain meds (meloxicam). Could I just watch at home and wait until Friday for the appointment with the vet Or should I take her in to the vet ER now?

What breed is my rabbit? I just got her from a friend this is my first one. I am not sure on age I would say her weight is around 4 pounds. I also plan to get her a playpen and a new cage very soon this one is so small. Thank you!

My bunny recently lost her companion, so I wanted to get a new baby bunny. However, she doesn't appreciate him much, which surprised me because she got along immediately with my late bunny.

She chases him, growls at him, and pulls out his fur. I'm not sure if this is normal, considering it's only been a week.

They're in separate enclosures, but only separated by a wire mesh. She pulls out little bits of his fur through it, though less and less often. The baby rabbit always tries to make contact with her. I've tried changing their scents with blankets and feeding them separately, but with visual contact, and nothing happens during these times.

Most of the time, she ignores him, but sometimes she chases him, runs along the wire mesh, or growls at him.

Is this normal? What should I do? My female bunny is neutered and a year and a half old, and the baby bunny is two months old.

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. Especially if you're gonna harass someone in dms

My bunny has mites on his nose and most of the vet give dog medicine even dr Prabhakaran of DCC. Please help

Hello everyone!

Our little guy is 13 and I've noticed he started peeing little bits everywhere. Does it have to do with his age? He is litterbox trained and mostly goes in the litter box but we just noticed he does where he sunbathes or sometimes anywhere. Is there a way we can help him? Negative for all illness, we just took him to the vet for checkup and pedicure.

She does this quite often while sleeping or lying down, grinding her teeth a little. I don't know if I should be worried or not. Sometimes we can heard that she does it when sh’es is lying.

The wire is the perfect gauge, I wish I could find this gauge of wire for the original Bunny Barn. Everything was sold out when we were looking for the wire flooring. I'll add resting pads and a good fan. Miss Diana is getting this cage

Wire bottoms have been extremely helpful in keeping things clean. It has really good airflow and I keep a sharp eye for sore hocks or other issues. We didn't build this cage but the person who did, did an amazing job.

I'm thinking about getting some rabbits somewhere in the far future sometime after my dog and cats die of old age and I have more space and money. I know rabbits are a lot of work and have expensive vet bills. They're also fragile and need a lot of attention. I want to know how often you actually take your rabbits to the vet for emergencies and how you work and find time to socialize with your rabbits at the same time.

I have a black otter buck (parents sable x black otter) and Im getting an albino doe for him (her parents blue himi x sable). I believe I should mainly or only get sable and otter correct? Or could they throw other colors?

i feel i’ve been pretty active in this subreddit for the past year or so.. had arguments, been stubborn in my way of care and shared good and bad times with yall. hopefully this post doesn’t get taken down by mods for being off topic but i just felt i needed to get it off my chest..

i had to sell my entire herd this morning. when i originally got rabbits with my husband.. they were mostly a “look what i can provide for you, you shouldn’t leave even if i don’t treat you the best” kinda thing. and ive always wanted to do this. over time it escalated into real and painful DV.

it deeply pains my heart that i have to get rid of most of my stuff including my rabbits and 90% of my chickens. has anyone else gone through something similar? i feel a deep deep sense of grief. even if they weren’t technically pets.

thank you all for what you’ve taught me , even the people i loved to argue with about rabbit ethics. i think im going to get a pet rabbit once i move.. God i never thought id say that. i just feel a lot of different things.

i know everyone is freaking out about the *Cyclospora (i think that's what it's called) outbreak but can it affect rabbits, and should i be worried as someone who feeds their rabbits fresh produce from the grocery store almost daily?*

Hi all, I’m trying to bond my 2 male rabbits and hoping to get some advice.

We adopted Onix to be Charmander’s buddy a couple of weeks ago- the new bunny is quite calm and loves to lounge and be petted. Charm on the other hand is a very high energy bunny, he keeps trying to get Onix’s attention (by nipping) to be groomed and they get into a tiff because Onix does not like it.
Onix seems to not care much about befriending Charm. He’s very relaxed and lounges around Charm and ignores his advances. Well, until he gets annoyed and then they get into a fight.

IMO I think Onix is showing dominant behaviour, Charm gets so worked up after a tiff but Onix goes back to eating hay.

I currently have them in a neutral space with side by side cages. I’ve been swapping their litter boxes every day and giving them some bonding time. There doesn’t seem to be much progress…

Should I try stress bonding them??
How can I get them to trust each other more?

Last week, the poop was drier and lighter in color.
My bunny is 3 month old.

Can I pair up three females and let them play together every other day in a 7.5 m² (80 sq ft) area? If so, how should I go about it? I have a New Zealand, a Vienna, and a mixed-breed rabbit that is a bit more difficult to handle. They won't have access to their own hutches during playtime; that isn't possible with my current setup.

My two rabbits live indoors in a fenced-off area in my apartment. I used blankets as flooring before, but they destroyed them. Currently they have rugs, but they also started chewing at those (especially my female rabbit). I tried choosing rugs without fluff or loose edges, but they still managed to damage them.

I was thinking about trying vinyl flooring, but I’m worried it might be too hard on their feet. Has anyone used this successfully, or are there other rabbit-safe flooring options you recommend?

I’ve also considered gym mats, but I think they would probably destroy those immediately
