ਸਵਾਲ سوال [Question] Why are some Panjabis named "Kashmir" or "Kashmira"?
Just curious about this name, some examples:
Kunwar Kashmira Singh (prince of Sikh empire)
I know that Punjab and Kashmir have longstanding ties, and that there are a lot of Kashmiris in Punjab (including the most important political family of Lahnda Punjab at the moment the Sharif family). But how did name Kashmir emerge?

ਸਵਾਲ سوال [Question] What do you call family members?
i use baba for my dad, and uma for my mum- but im not sure what to call my brothers? my eldest brother is 11 years older than me, but we are very close so ive called him by his name my whole life, including my 2nd and 3rd oldest brother. ive coined my second oldest brother as bhaji/paji, and my 3rd oldest brother as taaji (iirc thats younger brother, but its an inside joke cuz we tend to act the same age or younger, so he calls me didi), but this is mainly just from playing around on the internet, and i wanted to know some actual terms?
i know veerji and bhaji mean older brother, and i could call my older brother veerji, but im also wondering what you call little sisters? ive seen alot of names with bhain or choti, but i dont really want long names like that..? like bhaji, veerji, taaji, and didi is perfect for us, but choti bhain is a bit long and it doesnt really flow in conversation and sounds formal..
does anyone have any names?

ਆਮ ਪੋਸਟ عامَ پوسٹ [Regular Post] This might be a controvetsial opinion but I will say
I don't care if ppl get pissed off. And I might delete it too depending on my mood.
When I was watching satluj i had expected a lot more heavier, thick punjabi.
Like, on pakistani side we have few comedians who crack jokes in proper thick punjabi but aa such punjabi isn't there on tv and hindustani language, that is, urdu is imposed everywhere.
But in Satluj, punjabi disappointed, it also seemed, urdufied to me or some hindi words but not how a thorough punjabi should sound like.
And then I see urdu speaking group in pak gloating over urdu imposition and other languages fading.
I think there is one solution, teach ur kids only english and ur mother tongue. So this whole different language hijacking your language should end.
I mean I see lot better punjabi in pakistani shows even tho pak state is actively killing punjabi language.
Satluj punjabi level - 2/10

ਸਵਾਲ سوال [Question] Question for those who are good at Panjabi regarding administrative terminology
Question for those who are good at Panjabi regarding administrative terminology: Community development blocks are called “kheda”, sub-sub-districts are called “up-tehsil”, sub-districts are called “tehsil”, districts are called “zilla”, then what are administrative divisions above districts called? There are five administrative divisions in Indian Panjab and twenty-three districts. I want to know what the native word for these divisions is.

Name me a single mainstream bollywood movie that in recent times talked blatanty about the Sikh G*enoc*de from 84-95??
Now if an actor/singer that comes from a regional film industry, has made a film about his people, numbers and facts that are documented in the courts, why now all of a sudden is it hurting some people ki why not talking about us, even though the film talks about its own state and region without discriminating any religion, caste etc, it just talks about human rights!!

ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ تفتیش [Inquiry] The turban question? (23f)
Hey! I'm not very familiar with the culture of Punjab very accurately as I'm from the south. But I'm very curious to know the story or the reason behind turban wearing practice.
Is it purely religious or everyone in Punjab wear turban? Can/Do non-Sikhs wear turban? Do you wear it while sleeping? Do girls wear it too?
Actually I've a lot more questions. But not overwhelm you guys 😂😂. Btw sardarjis looks so cute 🥺
