Ik ben al een tijdje aan het kijken om de silent hill games te kopen voor mijn ps2, ik verzamel alle games maar speel ze ook dagelijks. Zijn het leuke games om te spelen of is het eerder een collector item?
I'm trying to build a library for PS1 and PS2 games. Here's my current Library, along with some prospective games to own. If you have further recs that I can find on the secondhand market without breaking bank, let me know. I'm open to stuff like original games or like ports along the lines of collections for other franchises.
I'm not strict about CIB for PS1 games, because I plan to have them in PS2-style cases like MGS1 in the Essentials collection.
What I own:
PS1-
Resident Evil 1-3
Metal Gear Solid
PS2-
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
God of War 1
God of War 2
Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Prospective purchases:
PS1-
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Dino Crisis 1 & 2
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
PS2-
Resident Evil 4
Devil May Cry 1
Devil May Cry 3
Tomb Raider Legends & Anniversary
The Prince of Persia Trilogy
Xmen Origins-Wolverine
Sonic Mega Collection +
X-files: Resist and Serve.
Castlevania Lament of Innocence & Curse of Darkness.

I'm using the original one that came in box and am curious if buying an aftermarket one off amazing would make a difference, despite it not being the giga "component" cable set up.

I recently emulated my steamdeck with pscx2 and would love some recommendations since I never had the ps2. I so far have Rule of Rose, Fatal Frame, Echo Night, God of War, ObsCure, and Haunting Grounds, so anything along those lines would be great.

If the ps1 was released in 1995 there were probably already builds since 1990, and if the ps2 was released in 2000, when it officially started the first prototypes?
1997? 1995? I keep thinking about how hard they worked to get to that level of result, to this day I am enchanted by the potential of the console.

Hello, i have been trying to connect my ps2 to my monitor and after buying all sort of things (ps2 to hdmi converter and all that) it appears my screen is green. When i google it they just say to swich to rgb in the system configuration but when i do that my screen gets no signal.
UPDATE: i actually fixed it! To be honest i dont know how, i just turned it on and off a couple of times and it started to show the correct colors.

I've read not the best reviews about this game so I'm not sure if I should get it despite loving the franchise...

I'd put this on par with OOT, Gran Turismo 3, Timesplitters 2, Medievil, MGS2, MGS3.
This game and it's environments are blowing me away over 20 years after its release.
I was 15 when it came out, and I literally cannot believe how good this game is. The combat is so satisfying, the spectacle of it's artwork and surroundings.
It's like Devil May Cry on acid. Can't believe I missed this 20 years ago....
Is its sequel any good?
Truly, I believe that game design peaked around this era and I wish it never evolved... Just built upon. Timesplitters 2, Gran Turismo 3, REmake, THPS3, MGS, Primal, Mercenaries, Silent Hill 2 etc.
They all had character, and the graphics were good enough to be immersive. Studios had bigger budgets. Just the golden era. Obviously biased as I was young then, but it was an objectively better time.

I’m attempting to make a remaster of a more obscure game(‘Tak and the Power of Juju’), and I’m trying to find an application that will allow me to convert FMV files to a readable format for PC. The files in question end in a PSS extension. I’ve tried searching online, but haven’t found anything that works for me. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Seems too good to be true, not sure if they're real.
They all work on my unmodded PS2 so idk.

I didn't want to upload a dozen images, but I figured one beauty shot was a good start.
For those who don't know me, I write a blog focused on the PS2 era, and I just wrapped up a deep dive ranking the absolute best licensed games on the console.
As you guys know, the majority of licensed games are trash that are grabs for cash. But there are some exceptions: games that really capture the mood and feel of its source material. The technical term is thematic integration. This post is about identifying the games that do the best job of this, AND are so well designed they are some of the best games on the console. Several very good games didn’t make the cut because they excelled as adaptations without quite reaching the level of the PS2’s elite.
Several good adaptations missed my top cut because, while great fanservice, they didn't quite hit that elite gameplay tier. Here is the final lineup that made the cut:
Here’s a sample write-up from the piece covering why Everything or Nothing took the Bond spot over Nightfire:
007: Everything or Nothing is way more than just a solid movie tie-in, it’s maybe the best Pierce Brosnan Bond film we never got, fully playable and totally original. Instead of adapting an existing movie, EA created a new Bond adventure with Brosnan investigating a plot by rogue KGB agent (voiced by Willem Dafoe), who wants to use stolen nanotechnology to threaten the world. It’s often considered a continuation of Die Another Day.
The game moves away from the first-person view made famous by GoldenEye and puts Bond in a cinematic third-person action setting. It mixes gunfights, stealth, gadget puzzles, vehicle chases, and globe-trotting scenes in places like Egypt, New Orleans, and Peru. With Brosnan, Judi Dench, and John Cleese returning to their film roles, a strong co-op campaign, and “Bond Moments” that reward good play, Everything or Nothing brings out what makes James Bond so popular: style, cleverness, adventure, and big action. It’s one of the best licensed PS2 games overall, and still the best Bond game on the PS2.
I go into full breakdowns for every game on the list over on my blog. Drop a comment if you want the link and I'll send it over
If you think I missed a big one let me know.

Pretty happy getting back into the ps2 scene again with this slim ps2 and just recently started getting games from it to save some storage on my usb. Much more games to come! Any recommendations go ahead and comment down!

Ps2 fat is not working for now but i hope it will work one day but the slim does work but i have no place to hook it up (i have a ps3 now) so they are gonna be a decor for my setup
BlueRetro adapter has newest firmware and rumble enabled in the settings. I have confirmed the rumble is working using FreeMcBoot and PadTest, but I put Blood Roar or Tekken in my PS2 Slim and there's no rumble?
Is this an issue with a combo BlueRetro/DS3/PS2? I've tried 2 different PS2 slim consoles and it's the same on both
EDIT: I just tried Tekken 4 (PS2 game) and rumble works fine.

I haven't played the game, but I'm sure I would have played and enjoyed it if it had been released on PlayStation 2.
Like Lego Batman
