So something I wonder. The Eddie Guerrero spot with the chair. Did he invent it? For context I mean the spot where Eddie would grab a chair distract the ref bang the mat and then toss the chair to the opponent and play dead for the DQ. Did he come up with this or did he just popularize it.

I believe this is the 2002-2005 period? Maybe 2006-2008 are included as well up until WWE went back to being PG? I'm never sure...

The RAE encompassed the tail end of my childhood and my entire teenage years. I began reading and discussing wrestling online around mid-2004. And boy, I remember how nearly everyone seemed to hate WWE at the time. TNA was the company everyone loved instead. WWE was viewed as stale and predictable. The rises of Batista and Cena helped helped people in the IWC regain back some interest, but many didn't like those two guys either.

I remember this era being very hit and miss. It was awesome to see Lesnar on his first WWE run and the rises of Orton, Cena and Batista were also exciting. And many of the veterans were still putting on great work every single week. Undertaker hit his ring prime in this era. He went from having slow and boring repetitive matches to becoming one of the best workers in the company. And guys who were midcarders in the Attitude Era like Edge, He Who Shall Not Be Named and Eddy Guerrero were finally getting a shot at the main event. I'll even defend JBL as WWE champion. That was one of the best reinventions of a character I've ever seen.

WWE still had an edge to it, being rated TV-14(well, SD was always PG, but alas) and seeing lots of blood, hearing some bad words and seeing the Divas wearing bikinis and skimpy outfits. Plus match types like HIAC, Hardcore, I Quit, etc. were still very worth watching it. HIAC simply does not work well under a sanitised PG rating.

OTOH, you had Triple H's reign of terror in 2002-2005 with horrible matches against Steiner and Nash and a shitty storyline with Booker T where the wrong guy went over. And let's not even talk about Katie Vick ugh. And later you ahd Cena's reign of terror as well in 2005-2007. He used to be an interesting character around 2003, but they turned him into a cringey and annoying vanilla superman like character.

Single branded PPVs in 2004-2006 were also a bad idea. They mostly felt like extended Raws and SDs. Most of SDs PPVs in 2004-2005 sucked. The Great American Bash was always a lousy one, in particular.

And even though I didn't mind the sexualisation of Divas... the Diva Search Contest was a waste of airtime always, and women's wrestling suffered a lot from that kind of content as well. Especially once Trish and Lita retired, even though WWE had women like Mickie James and even the likes of Candice and Melina who actually turned out to be pretty solid wrestlers. Natalya also had debuted around this time iirc.

I think what holds back the RAE was that it followed the Attitude Era and lacked The Rock and Stone Cold as full-time wrestlers after mid-2002 or so. A lot of the fans at the time kept comparing it to the AE and didn't enjoy the gems it had.

This man, Buddy Rogers, is literally the FIRST WWE Champion, and I feel like almost no one has ever acknowledged what he's done. Obviously, he's in an era that goes way back in the 60s and can be quite forgetful, but we're all familiar with someone like Bruno Sammartino, who was in that same era. I just feel like Buddy Rogers should be in the conversation of WWE Legends, but what do y'all think?

Would be funny and a lot of the hate is there. Liv has slapped and hit him. I think there is chemistry in the feud and it would be something totally different. I think it would have interest. For someone who hasn’t been interested in wrestling much for ages I would watch that match. Seeing them on the mic against each other is interesting too and kinda funny 🤣

That’s right! I trained at the monster factory for roughly a year and a half, now I train at Lineage pro wrestling!

To begin with we csn throw the idea of codys soul out the window I think we'll just get a simple heel summer of punk sorta thing this week if im being honest but a night 2 appearance can't be too out the picture. Also the idea of the final boss appearance seems to be a controversial one but as soon as he shows up you can't help but be entertained by his promos among other things. I understand hes not been consistent with anything really but also there is a lot of factors in that to be fair(ofc not a full excuse). My current hope and possible prediction is he tries aligning with the MFTS as leader and it may lead to a roman seth team up like a sort of the enemy of my enemy is my friend situation. What do yall think?
