I’m super annoyed and just need a place to vent. I got accepted into a nursing program so will be starting to cut way back on my hours at my current job (as a dental assistant). Everyone has been nice and congratulated me, but word got back to me one fellow DA said “What, she can’t be a nurse, she’s too slow”. Which firstly I know is not true at all, I have never ever gotten any feedback about being slow, and I actually feel like I am pretty competent at my job. I guess it’s bothering me because I am a little anxious about starting school soon, and I just have this idea in the back of my head that I won’t be a good nurse and his comment is just hitting me in a delicate spot. Anyways haters gonna hate I guess, I just don’t have many people to complain to so here I am.

I’ve gotten accepted into a ABSN program with 1 outstanding prerequisite! Which is anatomy 2, I’m about half way done and need to be done by August 12th (class is on portage learning) I have 21 days to be done with modules 5-9. I currently have a 68% and need a 73%.

The only thing is I didn’t quit my teaching job which starts the 1st week of August and I don’t want to quit that and then don’t make it into the program.

What should I do? Keep my teaching job & defer to the spring? Or quit my teaching job and just risk it?

Is ADN or BSN better in terms of job placement? I already have a bachelors degree in a non health related field

Hi guys! I’m about to take my TEAS exam in person soon and I was wondering if it’s actually easier than the online version? I’ve had a few people tell me this, but I wanted to see what others think. I’ve taken my past two attempts online (got a 69 on the first and a 77 on the second).
I’ve also been using ATI practice tests A and B and was wondering if those are generally harder than the actual tests? I scored a 67 on A and a 69 on B, but the weird thing is i’m scoring higher on the practice tests in the sections that I scored lower on in the real exam and vice versa. For example on the real exam I got a 50 on science in the practice I got in the 60s and in reading& math on the real exam I got 90s and on the practice tests i’m getting 70s.

I don't know whether I should stick with my macbook air and a regular notebook (I got the fivestar one that apparently has a digital saving component to it) or get an iPad for my first year of nursing school. I've heard a lot that it helps to keep your stuff for the NCLEX, and having an iPad is the best way to do that. Would love if anyone helped with this!!

Hi! first time posting here to this sub but was wondering if anyone else has had to do a kira assessment for a BSN application before? If so were you accepted despite not doing the best job? I did my assessment today and even wrote out/ verbally practiced responses beforehand. Even with doing all of that I still bombed it.

I applied in mt sac ADN program and that school consider your overall GPA. The time I applied I don't have any in progress courses all the pre reqs they are requiring me to take are done and graded. For fall 2026, I decided to take another chem class as a requirement for private school as a back plan in case i don't get in in community college. If I have in progress class by the time they evaluated my nursing application would that affect my adn application?

Hi there. Just wanted to post here to get tips or stories about medical assistant programs in NYC. I’ve been researching programs trying to find “the best ones” but I’m not actually sure if the “top ones” are worth the money and good/bad reviews.

I would prefer a lower cost program (unless they offer financial aid). Truth be told, I was wondering if I could find a free to very low cost program - but I know that would be hard. I am an nyc native and resident though. I’d also prefer to be a clinical medical assistant because I don’t love the idea of dealing with billing or emails/calls. If I did clinical (CCMA) instead of general medical assistance (CMA) though, would I just be missing out on the training for something i’d have to do on the job anyways?

Don’t know how to feel after taking my TEAS. I’m in California and I know it’s super competitive here so I’m feeling a bit discouraged. Im thinking about retaking it.

What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone! Ive been doing prereqs at my local community college for abt a year now, and I’ve been planning on applying to their nursing program in April. The only thing is it’s VERY competitive and takes two years (which is fine). I’m just worried that I won’t get in and will have to wait another year.

My friend is starting Bryant and Stratton Va beach location in September and I am able to join her if I choose to. I’m just not sure of people’s experiences and obviously I’ll have around 30k of debt, but at the same time I’ll be applicable for the nclex in 20 months!!

I really don’t know what to do, any advice? Anyone go to Bryant and Stratton?
