I was so excited to be able to post this here. My potato harvest! 24kgs of Charlotte and Desiree
There are some big Desiree at the bottoms as well. So happy! Not to plant more seed potatoes for a winter harvest!

Best batch I’ve made in a while! Russets, heavy cream, sour cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg, butter.

While sorting through a bag of multicolored potatoes I came across this little beauty in the bag.

Peeled this russet and it seemed perfectly fine on the outside, maybe one ¼ inch sprout starting in an eye. But was covered in these brown rings/circles. One spot that was darker *maybe* had slightly more give than normal, but nowhere near "mushy."
Literally the first time I've seen a potato like this, would it have been safe to eat? I threw it out because the others in the bag were fine (some green under the skin that I peeled away), and I'm pretty leery of potato brown spots in general.

I realize that if I have to ask I'm not going to eat it but there are a few I have that look similar.
Hello, new comer here genuinely don’t know where to put this but I think this sub has potato experts. I was wanting to make potatoes with sauce hollondaise when I looked to the side and saw my Mexican boyfriend put.. pril dishwasher onto them? I freaked out about how he’s pouring chemicals onto my potatoes and he goes and says it’s to make sure the bacteria is dead- like, what? Is this a Mexican method of cleaning potatoes? Is this normal? Am I freaking out about nothing and just live under a rock for thinking hot water is enough?
Sincerely, a confused German.

Just saw this movie. Is it the best potato movie ever, or are there others I should watch?

The bin price tag says Yukon Gold, but the bag just says Gold (no other description on the bag.
Does Gold generally mean Yukon Gold potatoes? I passed up buying some potatoes yesterday at a different store because I wanted Yukon and it was the same thing…the bag said “gold potatoes”.
