Hi i’m back again!
I asked here before about whether or not it’s okay to make polymer clay as mug handle and what the good people of reddit told me is I can make it a wrap around so there’s a mechanical hold.

So i did that and it worked well! Except…

I made this design with some thin branches spreading out and it popped right off.

The window design I understand, it was easily placed back with an Araldite rapid cure epoxy adhesive. Then i tried using that to the branches but it barely stuck. I don’t know if it’s because it cured too fast or its just because didn’t scratch the surface on the contact points on the mug.
I’m just afraid it’s going to show a lot of scratches and parts of the epoxy shows after sticking

Any recommendations that i can use so:
1. It doesn’t have too much epoxy showing after cured
2. Doesn’t require too much sanding that can go over the contact points
3. It would still be waterproof and durable

I like it 👍 what do you think ? I can’t tell if it’s an improvement from the pink one that showed progress or not …the eyes could be better they bother me a bit, but I dye the lips a different way than usual and I like how they turned out

Hi everyone! I’m brand new to working with polymer clay and am just doing it as a fun hobby. I’ve picked up quite a few tools and supplies, but I’m definitely still learning.
I’m really struggling with conditioning the clay and working with larger pieces. I keep ending up with cracks, and I’m not sure if it’s my technique, the clay itself, or something else I’m doing wrong.
I’d love to hear any tips, tricks, or beginner advice you wish someone had shared with you when you were starting out. Videos, favorite tools, conditioning methods, and any other helpful suggestions are all appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I’m running into an issue when sculpting over an aluminum foil core. Whenever I lay the clay over the aluminum base, it ends up shrinking and warping/cracking like this: [Attach your photo here].

Is this happening because:

It isn't drying/curing properly?

The layer of clay over the foil is too thin or too thick?

Polymer clay / air-dry clay shouldn't be wrapped tightly over a solid aluminum base?

I'd love to know what might be causing this and how to fix or prevent it. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

I've recently been trying to learn how to make figures with clay and its been so difficult. One issue i've been facing is making my sculpts proportional. my idea is to create the entire base out of wire and tinfoil and then put the clay on top, but my tinfoil often comes apart from the wire. Could I add a tiny bit of some sort of adhesive to make my skeleton stick together? Or maybe someone has tips on what the process should be for creating a figure. Thanks

i always try a new design at least twice and this time I’m especially happy with how it turned out! last photo is the first attempt… which he was so goofy looking that it made me laugh

Mixed red liquid clay with a lil black then applied it with a wire texture brush. Want to look a lil more…used? 🤣

I burnt the first batch so I improved on it 🤣

And I’d have to say that these are some of my most favorite creations to date.

I turned the two versions of Vulpix into a Yin Yang.

Just found this group and I love seeing the work on here, amazing. I’ve been wanting to work with clay for a while now. This little guy is my first try

got tired of knocking them about on my desk and realized the solution was right in front of me the whole time!

Haven’t had a lot of time to work on these but I have so many ideas for future ones and I’m so excited to make them!

This is the first thing I’ve made out of polymer clay (as an adult lol) and it was so much fun to make! I saw a video about making clay pop tarts and I want to try that but if anyone can think of easy mini foods for me to try making please let me know. Oh and if there’s any tips I should know based on this first project please tell me!

Hello, I'm looking for a website or file that shows what polymer clay (souffle and premo) colors I can mix to come up with new colors. I don't have the basic colors. For example, if I want to make sky blue using cobalt blue and igloo white and another color.

I have dabbled a tad in clay, but this was my first real project that took me about 4 hours!! Painting was a bit more tedious than I thought heh 😅 I’m new so let me know of any tips!! (I do plan to put a resin layer over it)
