"I Don't Know How to Yodel"
When did I first hear yodeling? Well, when growing up of course it was the Cliff Hangers game on the TV show "The Price is Right" where the jolly mountain climber yodels as he hikes upward towards his pending doom according to how poorly you have guessed the price of household goods.
Many of the streaming music services do an annual year in review thing. While I don't really use those services, my most played album from the last year is almost certainly Tom Brusky's "Escape to Polka Paradise"
https://www.tombrusky.com/pp5052.html
This is an excellent album of original songs in a few different styles, and overall that album is absolutely brilliantly produced. I love it. It's actually hard to pick one song to be my favorite, but it is probably "I Don't Know How to Yodel" featuring Mollie B's multi-tracked vocals. It's a fun tune from a great album. Definitely check it out.

New Polka Album Releases
Every so often I check for what albums have recently been released that catch my eye
Frankentrost Band "OKTOBERFEST" - Bavarian style / concert band. I might pick up this CD just to hear their version of Hortensie.
TheĀ Marv Nissel Band āHomecoming!ā - Polka variety, pretty solid old-style concertina on this album as well as fiddle makes for a unique sound.
Alex Meixner "FEST" - All of the energy and fun you would expect from Alex. I ordered this the day it came out. The arrangements of the combination melodies are stellar.
Mollie B and Ted Lange - "Hits from Home". Did you, like me, survive the pandemic by tuning into their weekly live streams on youtube? They covered an amazing breadth of material, and have now released some of the most requested songs packaged up on this album.

Sharing a playlist of polka music for Oktoberfest
Here's an hour and a half of polka themed around beer, drinking halls, and Oktoberfest. I go deep into German and Austrian music this time of year, so I feel compelled to state that the music I'm sharing is all performed in English (except for "Ein Prosit") by North American bands.
