The House is expected to vote Wednesday on the annual defense authorization bill (H.R. 8800). Just look at the televised political debates in the US. They will have a 45 minute conversation about foreign policy without mentioning the budget once. But the second a candidate proposes a domestic policy that might actually help Americans there's always a, "How are you going to pay for that?"

This is the Republican way. Stupidity coupled with paranoia. Every penny the Gov spends on bombing brown children on the other side of the planet, is death, certain retaliation and pain.

It's not going to do much. It's going to keep the Pentagon's lights on for a few more months - something the Pentagon has warned as rapidly approaching.

In a few months, another 100 billion package will be passed.

Edit: Probably shortly after the election but before new members of Congress are sworn in.
