Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Looking for testers for my early alpha game about flipping games and consoles

Upvotes

I’ve released an updated public alpha of Flip Market, a first-person business simulator about buying and reselling video games and consoles.

You browse the in-game Flip Market, compare asking prices with estimated values, buy promising items, collect next-day deliveries and store them on physical shelves. You can then list your stock, review buyer offers, pack completed sales and ship them for profit while managing limited storage and keeping up with rent.

Buy low. Sell high. Pay rent.

The full core gameplay loop is playable, but the game is still in early development. The visuals, balancing, progression, upgrades and amount of content are all continuing to evolve.

Platform: Playable in browser
Version: Alpha 0.1.4
Suggested playtime: Around 10-20 minutes

Play here:
https://cameron-dev.itch.io/flip-market

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

  • Whether the opening and gameplay loop are easy to understand
  • Whether it is clear which items are worth buying
  • Whether buying, storing and reselling stock feels satisfying
  • When the loop begins to feel repetitive
  • Which UI screens are confusing or difficult to read
  • What strategies, upgrades or automation features you would expect
  • Any bugs involving saves, deliveries, offers, rent or day progression

This is an early alpha, so placeholder visuals and bugs are expected. Save compatibility may also change between updates.

Honest criticism is appreciated. Thanks to anyone who gives it a try!

Unpaid Playtest [Playtester] Obscurium is open for a new playtest, now with a bigger deck

Obscurium is a roguelike deckbuilder built on Brazilian folklore. The kind of folklore that scared me as a kid, so the creatures here (Pisadeira sitting on your chest, Capelobo in the dark) are not cute mascots.

We just opened the doors for a new playtest round. The main thing that changed since the last build: the deck is a lot bigger. More cards, more room to actually build something instead of playing the three options the game hands you. I've been testing it non-stop and the runs feel different every time now, which is exactly what I was missing before.

What I want from you: play a run or two, then tell me where it drags, what felt unfair, and which cards you never touched. Blunt feedback helps more than nice feedback.

It's free, no NDA, runs on PC. Sign up here: https://obscurium.firstlook.gg/signup/playtest-2

If you play it, come back and tell me the creature that got you first. I read everything.

Hi everyone!

I’m a small Twitch streamer and content creator who’s recently started expanding onto YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram as well. My username is @thecpw227 on all platforms if you’d like to check out my content.

I’m always looking for new indie games, demos, alphas, betas, and playtests to create content around. Depending on the game, I may stream it, make YouTube videos, create short-form clips, or all of the above.

I enjoy a variety of genres, including:
- Shooters (Overwatch, Fortnite)
- Cozy games (Stardew Valley, Romestead)
- Open-world/survival games (MapleStory,
Palworld)
- Party/social deduction games (Gartic Phone,
DrawPostor, Among Us)

I’m currently an official** partner with **DrawPostor, where I create gameplay content and share honest first impressions and feedback. I love discovering new games and helping developers showcase them to new audiences.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for playtesters to gather feedback for a new iteration of our cyberpunk game about growing organs

First of all, thanks you for trying previous version of our game, it helped us a LOT to understand weak and strong sides! We spent 3 months making game better and now ready to share it with you.

We are developing a game set in a cyberpunk. It's a proof of concept for a game about manually creating organs and implanting modules into organs.

We aim to create a tactile experience on par with Potion Craft, as we really appreciate the naturalness of the processes.

  • Link: https://breakneckpace.itch.io/graft-and-wire
  • Preferred form of feedback: in-game feedback survey
  • The main purpose of the test is to determine how tactile the current concept is and how immersive it is in the process of creating organs in conjunction with the current graphics.

Hey everyone!

We're a small 5-person indie team (Hot Potato Games), and we've been crafting Loco: Rails & Tails for over two years now. We just launched our Open Playtest on Steam, which runs until August 3rd!

• Online multiplayer connection stability
• Controls and user interface

If you and your friends want to hop on the train and help us test the current build, we’d be super grateful for your thoughts!

Unpaid Playtest The Necessary Evil - Steampunk industrial tactical RPG

Hi all. We're opening up The Necessary Evil for a public playtest on the 24th of July and we're looking for playtesters.

The Necessary Evil is a dark tactical RPG with roster management and dungeon exploration inspired by Darkest Dungeon and a magitech steampunk aesthetic that draws on Arcanum. You'll recruit teams to send into the ruins of industries built inside a dreamscape to explore and extract resources. You'll have to carefully juggle resources and risk, often engaging in hex-based combat that runs on an Active Time Battle system rather than rounds (so saving AP can make your next turn happen faster, for example). The decisions you make shape how your characters and equipment can grow and even how the dungeon responds in future runs.

Afterwards, reinvest the resources you scavenge to teach your roster new combat skills, forge new equipment, upgrade your base, or exalt your characters, giving them access to new classes. Every decision matters, and every choice has a cost.

(Right down to naming your characters!)

If you enjoy tactics games like Wartales or Battle Brothers or RPGs with difficult decision-making, I think you'll like this game.

This is our first playtest, so we're looking for feedback on how the game is presented (it has a 2D art style with a grim aesthetic and some body horror) and tutorialized, and how it feels for a run or two of the dungeon. Should hopefully take around 30 minutes to an hour. Afterwards, if you could fill out a short questionnaire about your experiences, that would be great.

Sign up is here: https://forms.gle/RafugGR39jBfW2xe9 - please feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Unpaid Playtest [Mac/PC] Multiplayer dodgeball FPS — looking for groups of 2-6 to break it with friends

Solo dev here. I'm building a first-person dodgeball game where you throw, dodge, and catch balls.

It's built for playing with friends rather than solo queue, so I'm specifically after small groups who can hop in together.

  • Does throwing and catching feel good, or floaty?
  • Is the catch window readable, or does it feel random?
  • Do matches drag or end too fast?
  • Where do people start laughing vs where do they get bored?
  • Any desync, rubber-banding, or hits that didn't register?

Platform: PC & Mac
Group size: 2-6 works best
Session: 5-10 minutes
Some assets are placeholder right now, so ignore how it looks, currently working with 3D artists.

Interested? Drop a comment or DM me and I'll send the discord link. Feedback via Discord.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Backseat - Psychological taxi horror game on Steam

I’m looking for playtesters for Backseat, a psychological horror game where you play as a taxi driver picking up dangerous passengers at night.

Platform: PC / Steam
Playtest type: Unpaid Steam Playtest
Genre: Psychological horror, thriller, first-person horror
Feedback method: Reddit comments, DM, or a short feedback form

The story starts with the main character’s wife being kidnapped. To get her back, he has to follow the instructions of someone called BK26. During each ride, a different stranger gets into the backseat: killers, thieves, scammers, unstable people, or someone whose intentions are not clear at first.

The player has to stay alert, pay attention to what happens inside the taxi, and survive the night.

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

Does the taxi setting feel tense or too limited?
Do the passengers feel threatening enough?
Does the pacing feel right for psychological horror?
Are the controls, camera feel, and UI clear enough?
Does BK26 make you want to learn more about the story?
Did you encounter any bugs or confusing moments?

Steam Playtest: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3098050/Backseat/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=backseat_playtest&utm_content=reddit_post

Thanks to anyone who tries it. Even short feedback would help me improve the game.

Unpaid Playtest [Playtest Request] Kukata: Word of Ghosts – A 2D Horror Typing Game Inspired by Malaysian Folklore (Windows Demo)

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for playtesters for Kukata: Word of Ghosts, a 2D horror typing game inspired by Malaysian folklore.

You play as a student exploring an abandoned school haunted by supernatural entities. Instead of fighting with weapons, you'll need to type words correctly to perform exorcisms while managing the pressure of being chased by ghosts.

Platform

  • Windows
  • Keyboard required

Playtime

  • Approximately 10–20 minutes

I'm mainly looking for feedback on:

  • Is the gameplay easy to understand?
  • Is the typing mechanic enjoyable or frustrating?
  • Is the difficulty balanced?
  • Does the horror atmosphere work?
  • Did you encounter any bugs or performance issues?
  • Were there any confusing moments?

If you have time to try it, I'd really appreciate your honest feedback—even if it's critical. Knowing what doesn't work is just as valuable as knowing what does.

Download: https://wordnaz.itch.io/kukata-word-of-ghosts-playtest-demo

Feedback Form: https://forms.gle/8KftHf7JbTyxVYSa6

Thank you so much for your time! Every piece of feedback will help improve the game.

Unpaid Playtest I've been building an Aztec life simulator as a solo developer. Looking for a few honest testers

I've been working on a project called **Fifth Sun**, a browser-based life simulator inspired by Aztec society.

Instead of focusing on conquest, the goal is to live an entire life. You begin as a young commoner and choose how to build your future through trade, religion, warfare, craftsmanship, relationships, and reputation.

Current systems include:

* Social classes and progression * Trade and economy * Reputation and fame * Debt and financial management * Professional careers * Dynamic narrative events * Aztec-inspired calendar * Religion and devotion

The project is still in **prototype** and I'm looking for a small number of people who enjoy simulation, strategy, or historical games and are willing to give honest feedback.

You can play it directly in your browser:

https://fifth-sun-studios.itch.io/fifth-sun

Id like to hear

* What confused you? * At what point did you lose interest? * What made you want to keep playing? * If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

Every piece of constructive feedback helps shape the project.

Thanks for taking a look!

Unpaid Playtest Still chasing a few testers for my cosy pixel-art bee game

Hey all,

Posted about this a couple weeks back and had a few good people jump on, but I'm still a bit short of the numbers Google wants before I can release it properly, so I'm back again.

It's a little idle game called Honey Hive - you start with a single bee, build up the colony, harvest honey and climb through flower fields and boss fights. All pixel art, pretty chill, the sort of thing you poke at while the telly's on. I've added a heap to it since the last post (skins, champion bees, expeditions, a seasonal track), so there's a fair bit to it now.

What I'm really after is people playing it on their own phone and telling me where it trips up - anything confusing, balance that feels off, or a bug that only shows up on your particular device. Even "got bored around here" is genuinely useful.

Two quick steps if you're up for it:

Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/honeyhive-testers

Open this and hit "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rhys.honeyhive - then grab it off the Play Store like normal

Cheers for reading either way.
