Crash Investigation Update (PTS – July 21)

Help us investigate this crash issue by testing the latest PTS build.

It would also be very helpful if, after experiencing a crash on the PTS, you create a Discord Ticket on our Discord server with the following information or reply to the news article thread below without your in game name for privacy purposes, if we need further information from you we will reach out:

• Your character name
• The time of the crash and your time zone
• Your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, operating system, including the OS version, etc.)
• A link to a video capturing the crash

Unfortunately, Discord does not allow large gameplay videos to be uploaded directly, so we kindly ask that you use any video hosting service you prefer (for example, YouTube) and share the link in your ticket or response.

Combined with the crash dumps and logs we are collecting, this information will help us investigate the issue much more quickly.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us with this investigation. Resolving the current wave of crashes is our highest priority.

The additional crash data collection tools enabled on the PTS will not affect the performance of the Live servers, so players who are not experiencing crashes will not be impacted.

Stay tuned for further updates. We will let you know once we have gathered enough data and whether any additional PTS playtests will be needed.

Is Here any scythe main i want to start with scythe but dont know anything about flying need tips and best guns

As title, I'm using this implant level 5 since years, but it looks like it doesn't work anymore as expected. Ammo is not restocked or takes very long time to work.

Is anyone having the same issue?

I simply can not figure how to work this implant, I equip remoter hacking, equip drone - use drone to approach enemy terminal and then what - when I press E nothing. Anyone know how to use this thing :D?

and one thing, that's just accidental or intentional trolling.

First thing: Flying. An ESF, a Lib or grabbing a Gal or gunning a Gal. Or if you're a total psycho, a Pancake. Doesn't even matter if you still need stuff for the Event Directive. Most of the time, it's epic sky chaos. Sometimes 90 air units, Gals, Libs, ESFs, Pancakes, swarming around each other and presenting pure Planetside feeling. You can have these 50 vs 50 infantry battles in many games. That's nothing special. But these air battles? Fucking unique. And if you don't play the Event, you can still get good amounts of XP, especially in a Galaxy. Or progress in other directives. Unless your faction has too many sheep and not enough air units or gunners and as soon as you get close to the purple bubble, 30 enemy air units look at you, while you are the 1 Galaxy, rethinking your plan. Then fine, in that case the alert doesn't make sense anyway.

Second thing: AP vehicles. Driving around and killing those inferior, outgunned and helpless against armor piercing shells. Easy tons of XP. Not so much on Amerish and Hossin, but really fast on Esamir and most of Indar.

Third thing. The gameplay that's either just newb gameplay without understanding of what they are actually doing aka not understanding that they aren't achieving anything other than just trolling. And that's playing AA. And yes, the kindergarten will now scream "That's because you're flying a Lib, and don't like AA." But, that's just not true. During those alerts, I fly a Gal (although I've finished the Directive), because I wanna help others to get this task. And while we could have these amazing air battles, some people have to be the party pooper. They aren't getting any kills. They aren't really playing support. And they get maybe a 1/10 of the XP they could get with the other two methods. All they do is meddling with an air battle, they actually don't even want to be a part of. So why not just stop, and let the air have their fun. Unless, like I said, you're a troll, and doing it on purpose.

I mean, if you think you have valid reason - that doesn't accept that AA has better times and places, please tell me. Maybe I'm just to narrow minded. But these alerts won't last forever. And these epic massive swarms of air units what really shows what makes Planetside 2 so unique, don't require Skyguards and Walker Sundys. This stuff can be - better - played any time.

So if you want epic air battles, join the air units. If you want to make some XP while playing support, grab an AP vehicle and hunt the AA. And if you want to play AA, play AA. It's a sandbox game, and you're the kid that smashes other's sandcastles with your little plastic toy shovel. : )

GL HF everone. Enjoy the Summer Event. Just don't do the Supply Task. It's a flawed task that will takes hours. Do the others. They are much faster/easier.

Been away from the game awhile. Seems everyone is still running the armor piercing variant(FPC I think its called).

I came back to see a new weapon, the Perihelion. Great damage, but...

I see almost none of the vets using it. The ones that do seem pretty damn dangerous with it but it seems like a niche thing that if you're willing to trudge through the skill barrier its good. Is that it?

Whereas the other MBT new guns, lots seem to be using the kingsnake and the mortar gun for NC(which is good) no one is really using the perihelion from what I've seen.

Since it currently is impossible to progress through the new player tutorial without the game crashing, cheaters shouldn't be able to replenish characters once theirs have been banned away.

If you have fallen ill, inject desinfectants directly into your veins to kill off the pathogens.

If your ship has rats on deck, collide it with an iceberg to drown them out.

does anybody have some pointers to get the absolute best fps in large fights? Iv noticed even when I'm rocking over 100 fps in large fights it still feels gritty and laggy.

Trying to get back into the game after a long break.

However everytime I try and log in to the launcher on steam it says error completing your request?

I attempted to go to the website to get support but it wont let me log in saying credentials are incorrect even tho I just reset my password and got the user name sent to me to double check I was using the right one ?

And advice would be greatly appreciated

Just so you know, the crashes are being caused by an exploit that cheaters are abusing.

It’s similar to the continent reset exploit from last year, when cheaters were able to crash entire servers by using another exploit that spawned millions of grenades (Context: Hackers are crashing the Servers).

Seems like this one won't get fixed this time.

Updated 'flash or crash' versus pop graphic using SteamDB data up to the 18th.
I'd update the old one but I don't think I'm able to replace the image. In the future I'll only post this monthly tops, or maybe make a micro site.

but as soon as I'm on foot, the game stutters horribly whenever I move the mouse;
i cant play as infantry which is my main thing

G-Sync + V-Sync (Nvidia Control Panel),
smoothing=1 and smoothingmaxframerate=144 (in-game)

As a long-time Betelgeuse user, I can say that Scrodinger is actually close to it. Pros and cons compared to Betelgeuse:

= Same damage per second at any distance (pmg have 0.3-6% more damage per second)

= Similar ammo/magazine characteristics (fast reload vs heat)

+Better hipfire

+Better recoil

+0.75 ads

+More enemy's camera shaking

-Worse spread/bloom

-Worse bullet speed

So on average it's similar. A little better at close, а little worse at а distance.

I have been having to alt f4 to get out of the frozen loading screen that happens randomly since the start of the summer update. This never happened to me before. Running the non steam version, Windows 10. This is like the icing on the cake with the random server crashes and the forgetting to pull a vehicle individual crashes.
