I had to stop and do a double take to make sure I really saw what I thought I saw.

Call me crazy but something tells me the people commiting violent crime might not find these persuasive.

RIP to Mr. Sasso and condolences to his family.

Nothing released about the tractor trailer driver as of yet other than that he was 70 years old and taken to the hospital. Though there was a rumor circulating online that he went into cardiac arrest while driving 😔

Shout out to your airport…

I’m in airports every week for work but have never been through Pittsburgh until this week. They did you folks right! It’s beautiful, spacious and well-planned! The TSA stations with the automatic bin conveyors are a dream.

It sets an incredible first impression for your city. Others should take note.

Why aren’t they playing The Odyssey at the science center?

idk the specific aspect ratios of imax 70mm vs the science center screen, but when oppenheimer came out i thought it’d be a perfect movie for them to play, since it’s also science related, and they never did. now the odyssey is out and they aren’t playing that either. maybe it’s a licensing thing too, but they would be making so much money showing these movies since there’s no proper imax 70mm theater in pgh. i imagine it’d be worth it to figure out the licensing. seems like a major missed opportunity im wondering whats stopping them.

OAKMONT, Pa. — Oakmont has updated regulations on potential data centers moving into the community.

On Tuesday night, the borough council unanimously approved the zoning proposal.

It will allow data centers as special exceptions in the industrial zoning district, as well as establish size and other development requirements for the facilities...

homeless with sensory issues

Upvotes

my brother doesn’t have a place to stay in PGH right now. he has autism and severe sensory issues. i’ve been in contact with a social worker and the police, and they have recommended shelters that he’s not willing to go to because of the high number of people and noise.

does anyone know of any other resources or housing options that could work?

EDIT: i have tried a million different options to get him housing myself. living with me, leasing a place for him to live in, reaching out to social workers, crisis services, public housing, mental health residential programs, etc. he has turned these options down.
i know from this, what’s the point of me asking?
i don’t know, i’m desperate to find any option maybe he’d more seriously consider. i don’t want him to be outside

Already Paradise Restaurant Pittsburgh Mills

I took a trip up to the Mills yesterday to eat at TJ buffet and walk around. I heard from the FB group Pittsburgh Mills Mess that there was new restaurant signage up in the abandoned food court and decided to check it out.

A homemade sign sporting “Already Paradise” along with additional signs featuring a website and QR code were posted.

A new restaurant in this mall does seem like an interesting choice , but when I went to the
[website](www.alreadyparadise.com) it got even stranger. Is this for real? I thought this community would provide some interesting feedback.

Grandma B's
🗓️ 16-Feb-2026
🚌 PRT 83 Bedford Hill

I'm reposting this one because the photos in the original post were low-res for some reason.

Grandma B's may not look like much, but this may have been the best breakfast I've had since moving here last spring. The staff are fantastic and playfully chirp at everyone who walks through the door. Be sure to get the potatoes; they pack a ton of flavor into those things. Oh, and don't forget to bring cash!

As for The Hill itself, there's plenty I could say about the history, the disinvestment, the redlining, the more recent changes... and I may touch on those subjects in another post. But, for this one, please enjoy a line of colorful row houses instead.

I'm on a mission to visit every neighborhood in Pittsburgh by transit. Click here for details and links to every visit.

Flynn’s Tires Slogan

Hey Yinzers, this is potentially a pretty stupid question, but rather here than in a shop and make myself look nuts. Every Flynn’s tires ad on the radio or TV ends with the little leprechaun saying “And tell em Flynnie sent ya!” Obviously it’s a nod to classic Irish hospitality and is in theme with their brand, but it seems too direct of a command not to actually mean anything. So my question to you all and Flynn Tire people is: is there some sort of discount if you go to the front desk and say “Flynnie sent me.” I know it sounds ridiculous, but I don’t know why else they’d be so intentional about directing you to do something. Maybe I’m thinking about it too much… anyone know the answer?

Do people actually use 311 reporting service

I have a dilemma. We just moved to the area so idk the vibe around using the 311 reporting service. We rent and I want to say that our neighbor probably does to. They have crazy amounts of trash in between the two houses and all in the back yard. It gets into our yard and brings raccoons who also carry it into our yard. Our neighbor on the other side told us he’s talked to her multiple times about her trash bc he too has had issues with raccoons and has small kids.

The neighbor with the trash is never home so I haven’t had a chance to address it with them but it doesn’t seem like it will change… I don’t want to be an ass but I also don’t know what to do. Do I try to address it with them first? (Like I said though they are hardly around)

Former PA House Rep. Jesse White facing federal child pornography charges

Washington-native Jesse White represented the 46th district (Washington/Beaver/Allegheny) as a Democrat from 2007 to 2015.

In 2013, White admitted to using multiple fictitious names and online aliases to target, bully, and verbally attack his own constituents.

In 2017, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court disbarred White after he admitted to misappropriating more than $100k from his legal clients, which his attorney attributed to a severe gambling addiction.

In 2019, White and his family relocated to Cumberland County, where he runs a political consulting firm called Perpetual Fortitude.
