I have been visiting phuket twice a year and every time i buy from a different store, 3 joints for 1000 baht , can i get recommendations about how to get it better , cheaper or is this is the regular price?

Hoping to visit for the 1st time next year, we've been looking at Barcelo Coconut Island hotel as a base. I've looked on various websites but can't seem to get answers so hoping someone here can help.

Few questions if anyone can advise please?

I am aware the Island is quiet which is what we're looking for, but what facilities are there? Is there a shop we can get drinks / snacks (looking at bed and breakfast and eating out at night but would like things for the room)

What sort of prices are we looking at for beer / crisps/ wine etc in a local shop?

Are the water taxis to the mainland regular? Do they only run between certain times? Roughly how much do they cost?

Whats the average price of a meal on the mainland? Obviously this can vary massively, just thinking main course for 2 and a few drinks in an average restaurant (maybe a pasta or rice dish type meal, not lobster).

Are we better waiting to book excursions until we arrive or book ahead before we go.

Any and all advice would be great! Travelling from the UK.

Hey guys, we are going to Phuket for 4 days in mid-October.

We were planning to island hopping for a day. Could you suggest us which ones are the best? We would also like to do snorkelling if possible.

After our research, we were planning to AVOID Phi, Phi, Maya, James Bond and Hong.

What about the Similian or the Khai Islands?

Any island suggestions - where we can avoid crowds, enjoys serene blue waters with a view. Even the caves, look good.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Also, if you any additional information (about where to go snorkelling, other activities) and must -visits reccos for food (for vegetarians though)

My friends and I will be visiting Patong in Phuket in late September / early October. How bad of the weather can we expect? Also, is Patong "slow" during this time of the year as well or are there still alot of female "workers" ?

I'm planning a trip in early spring and I'm ideally looking for somewhere that's not party central and on the quieter side. Ideally though I don't want to be too isolated and would like somewhere thats fairly walkable in terms of reaching shops, restaurants etc.

My budget is around 300-350 euros for 4 nights, but I’m flexible if a place is really worth it.
I’m looking for:
- good value for money
-clean, comfortable rooms
-walking distance to the beach, restaurants and cafés
-quiet area (not interested in nightlife)
-ideally a nice pool and good breakfast
We’ll mostly use it as a base for exploring Phuket, so location is important.

Hello, I’m a 27 year old Northern European relocating from Koh Samui to Phuket soon, I’ll be getting a one year rental contract but I’m so torn on where to live. My top areas now are Bang Tao or Kata/Karon. It’s got a beach resort feel to it without being too small or gets boring. It’s also within a pretty nice distance for when I want a night out in Patong which will definetly be every once in a while. I don’t mind short drives (I own a bike) and I like to train Muay Thai but I wouldn’t mind being able to go for morning walks to some breakfast spots and not have to drive everywhere.
I’d also like not to be surrounded only by concentrated foreign national groups (absolutely no hate btw)
Anybody recommend which area is better for livability ? And any specific condominiums I could have in mind?

I’ll be staying in Phuket for about 2 months (mostly around the Kathu area) and I’m hoping to train Muay Thai while I’m there.

I’ve looked at a lot of the well-known gyms that get recommended by influencers, but they’re a bit outside my budget for a longer stay. I’m more interested in a traditional gym with good coaching than a flashy facility.

Can anyone recommend affordable Muay Thai gyms that locals or long-term visitors train at? I’m happy with basic facilities if the instruction is solid and the atmosphere is welcoming.

Also, do any gyms offer better monthly rates for people staying 2 months?
