So I’m currently planning a trip to the Philippines in February 2027 and I would love some input from locals and/or people who have been there.

Info for context:

My friends and I are men and women between 26 and 38 y/o. We like to experience other cultures whenever possible (so you won’t see us at a resort or the regular tourist traps). We prefer natural sightseeing (beaches, fields, rivers, lakes, mountains and so on) as opposed to man-build structures (although those are also charming and we’d love to see them as well!). We can go out for drinks or to party but it’s not mandatory. And most importantly we’re children of the sea, so we loooove spending time at/around the sea/ocean.

So, our plan is to come to the Philippines for ~20 days then to China.

Currently we’ve been looking at the different islands (all of them are gorgeous btw!! Wish I could see them all!) and talking to AIs to make some sort of a plan. As of yet there are 2 options:

A) Manilla - Boracay - El Nido - Coron - Siargao - Cebu (just for plane transfer) - China

B) Manilla - El Nido - Siargao - Moalboal - Cebu City - China

Can you please let me know what you think of this route? Is Boracay overrated? Is there an island you would remove/add?

I’m open to suggestions! I want to see the best the Philippines has to offer!

I’m turning 30 next year and I want to celebrate it extra special. I went solo travelling this year in Boracay and I loved the experience. Since I want to explore a new island/beach naman, any reco place na madali ding i-navigate as a solo traveler like Boracay? Yung you have the option din to go all out sa budget and at the same time pwedeng mag tipid trip. Also yung hindi magiging issue ang internet connection since I’m planning to work as well during my trip. I’ve been to El Nido, Iloilo/Bacolod and Cebu with friends. I’m eyeing Bohol or Siquijor but I want to have more options. Tyia!

I'm looking to take advantage of the crazy typhoon season we are having this year and go do some surf exploring/travel in the Philippines. This would be some time between mid/late August and mid-October, and dependent on the timing and path of typhoons. Basically I'm looking to go experience some beautiful places and communities, avoid the crowded waves of Siargao and other popular surf spots, and maybe swim in some waterfalls, hike, or go spearfishing/free-diving.

At the moment I'm looking into Catanduanes, but I know there is an endless amount of surf to explore in the Philippines, so may also consider NE Samar or far northern Luzon...

Anyway, I'm completely open to suggestions and tips on local travel, specific locations or communities, places to stay or groups to meet, etc... Getting to Manilla from the Mariana Islands is easy, but I'm new to local/domestic airlines, buses, ferry, etc... Has anyone had good experiences exploring the coast in Catanduanes or other locations with surf? How much time should I allow to travel from the airport in Manilla to places like Catanduanes or Pagudpud? Is it possible to pay local fishermen or people with boats to ferry to other reefs or islands?

Marunong naman kaming mag-drive, pero gusto ko sana i-reserve ang energy namin sa pag-enjoy ng vacation kaysa sa pagna-navigate ng roads. 😅

• Kumusta ang commuting around the island?
• Magkano usually ang rates ng tuktuk or car with driver for a day?
• Saan kayo nag-stay, and would you recommend it?
• Ano ang usual itinerary ninyo for a 4D3N or 5D4N trip?

hi everyone! my fiance (foreigner) and i (filipina) are planning our 1-month honeymoon in the philippines this september and would love some recommendations. hindi kami masyado into partying, we prefer nature, local culture, and beaches + snorkeling

so far we've been to palawan (el nido & port barton), boracay, siquijor, batangas, and baguio. we really enjoyed the 2 weeks we spent in siquijor last may! my fiance rented a motorcycle kaya we were able to maximize our vacation (we were able to visit many beaches, waterfalls, caves, etc.). we're hoping to find somewhere with a similar (or even better) vibe for our honeymoon.

where would you recommend we go next? we'd really appreciate any suggestions. salamat!

Hello! May flight ako next week sa siargao and nagbigay kase ng specific time yung papa ko what time niya ko ihahatid. Medyo maaga and I’m thinking mag stay na lang ako sa lounge since my priority pass and credit card naman ako. Tho I’m not sure if pinapayagan ba ng mga lounges yung mga may domestic flights or kung eligible ba? Lmk guys 😭

Hello! Plano namin mag Bantayan sa November. Kaso iniisip namin na baka mabitin kami sa time kasi ang dating namin sa Cebu 5am ng Nov 26 then yung pauwi naman namin ay November 29 6am flight.

Tapos hindi pa guaranteed yun weather so kinoconsider din namin baka mahirapan kami bumiyahe patawid ng Island worse makapag Bantayan kami tapos mastranded kami pag pabalik ng either 27 ng gabi or early morning ng 28 sana.

If alanganin kami magbantayan, saan pa pwede na magbeach? Chill lang naman kami as a trentahin kaso half ng kasama ay hindi marunong lumangoy/freedive. Kawasan Canyoneering medyo 50/50 baka may biglang umayaw sa mga activities.

Worth the money ba ang pagpunta ng Biodome na katabi ng Ocean Park? Plan namin magpunta with a kid. Siguro i-avail na namin yung combo ticket sa Klook app (mnl ocean park+biodome) kung worth the money naman.
Or any recommendations na pwede mapuntahan around Manila enjoyable for kids and kids at heart? Thank you!

For me, it’s the absolute lack of access to reliable information. Trying to figure out provincial bus schedules or RORO ferry times is a nightmare. You usually have to rely on a blurry photo of a tarpaulin posted on a random Facebook page from three years ago. You never really know if the boat is actually leaving at 1:00 PM until you are physically standing at the port.

Sobrang ganda ng Onuk Island. will surely go back and just stay on that island.

Did a 3D2N in Balabac and tbh kahit sa onuk ka lang mag stay and not do any island hopping is okay na.

Cause in Onuk you can do Giant Clams snorkeling or freediving, then there are also sea turtles and lots of perfect spots to take photos with.

15k for 3D2N sounds too much, but for the experience - its perfect.

Dadalhin sana yung car namin kaso may nabasa kasi ako na nagwait daw siya mg 3-4 hrs just to secure a ticket and it's a big no to bring a car daw. We're travelling this week sana. Hi. Mag-vvacation kami next month sa Liwliwa Zambales. Mag sstay kami sa Limliwa Beach Resort. Pero parang ang daming kong nababasa na hindi don maganda. Baka may ma recommend pa kayo na pwedeng puntahan sa Zambales, na malapit lang. From Bicol pa kami. Ayaw ko madisappoint lang at masayang ang trip. Sayang ng pera kasi. Hehe. TYSM!!!
