NS-2 Noise suppressor

So… I bought the boss NS2. I play hardcore/Post hardcore adjacent music. I need all the Gain I’m trying to use for specific things.

My pedal order is from guitar (epiphone firebird) to pedals is:
Tuner -> chug capo pitch shifter -> boss 7 band EQ -> JHS Morning glory v4 (higher gain setting always on) -> JHS Hard drive -> Line 6 DL4 -> electro harmonix mig-50.

My pickups on that firebird are EXTREMELY sensitive and pick up everything from a fly fart to a vocal monitor hitting them. I bought the NS-2 thinking it would solve my problems but alas, a lot of hiss, hum, and squeal make it through my speakers.

I’ve seen a loooooot of diagrams on better usage of the NS2 but all of those diagrams imply usage of an FX loop which my Mig-50 does not have. Is there any way at all in which i can better utilize my NS2 so tha i neutralize more noise without having to compromise on the toanz i love using so much????

Thanks in advance

Ibanez FL9 vs FL301

I am trying to round out my pedal board. I like old analog pedals, and my current collection looks like an Ibanez/Maxon 9 series advertisement. Anyway, I've had an analog flanger on the back of my mind for years. I prefer more subtle modulation.

I was perusing the internet for FL9s when I discovered a few FL301s for a similar price. I'm wondering if these are a "hidden gem" I should consider? I know they're 18v. Do I simply plug it into the 18v plug on my power supply board, or is powering it more involved? Would I miss the delay knob on the older version? There are fewer demos of the 301 vs the 9 series.

I got a lot of great comments on board improvements last time I posted (and incorporated many of them). I am officially done. Been playing pretty much every day and there is nothing I would change. Appreciate all the help.

Question Onboard Effect Suggestions

Does anyone have any reccomendations for onboard guitar effects / diy kits. I want one ideally with a single push pull pot (I have an empty slot in strat pickguard with master tone and volume), and was hoping to find either a compressor/sustainer or some kind of distortion for around 30-40 dollars. I checked out GFS's mod boards and I like what they have but was wondering if anyone knew of anything slightly cheaper. Thanks.

HM-2 HELP!

Hi everyone! I have an Hm-2 on my pedalboard because I want to have a chainsaw tone. Since it works perfectly on my marshall G80RCD i want to have the same sound on my pedalboard too. For this reason, I bought a marshall jackhammer chained with HM-2 and a joyo R12 band controller. What I got is a really cool chainsaw-style sound but the volume isn’t very high. The problem is, when I play on higher volumes, the sound starts to became muddy and nobody can understand shit. So anybody has any advice on how I can get a good chainsaw tone on my pedalbord without using a distorted channel on my amp?

Question Your thoughts on pedal videos, please

Are pedal videos still relevant?

Personally I stil love them, both as a viewer and a maker, but I have a feeling I belong to an ever shrinking minority.

Do you still watch them? If so, why? What do like? What do you dislike?

I saw one for 85 bucks second hand, and i was wondering what the quality was of it. I use a line 6 spider and the distortion is shit so i thought why not. I'd love too hear your opinion

Please help me make a decision!

I had a little modulation pedal, but all I ever used was the phaser, so I thought it was time to get a proper phaser. Plus, I wanted a guitar chorus pedal to replace my old digitech bass multichorus.

Morningstar Midi Controllers

Hi, I hope this is ok with the mods. If not, apologies.
I just started a new subreddit, r/MorningstarMidiUsers, for those of us exploring the deep functionality of Morningstar Engineering midi controllers. I am hoping this might be helpful to some of the users of this community.
Thanks!

Marsona 1250

Hi y’all,
I found a Marsona 1250, it’s a variated white noise machine that has added effects like frogs croaking or a babbling brook. It takes a 12 volt power supply and works great going into an amplifier or a mixer using the auxiliary port and a quarter inch adapter. However, when I try to chain 9 volt pedals in front of the Marsona’s signal, it will not pass through the pedals into the amplifier. Not only will the signal not pass through the pedals, but the pedals will not even turn on. I have tried this with multiple pedals and it is quite peculiar. Afterwards I made sure it wasn’t a pedal issue and the ones I used in the chain work just fine through my guitar and the same 9 volt power supply. So the Marsona works in every way except the fact that it weirdly disables pedals? Very odd! Just wondering if anyone has ever encountered a similar issue or if there has been any noise experimentation with this machine.

thank you :)

Edit: new adapter is ordered, problem in all likelihood is solved!

Beetronics Zzombee - Exp pedal changes everything

It’s actually NEPD.. got a Dunlop DVP4 yesterday and plugged it into my Zzombee. I was already digging the Zzombee weirdness, but the expression pedal makes a mindblowing difference.

I just started messing with it, but in the first few minutes it has now permanently replaced my wah pedal; if the filters are off it becomes a volume pedal; the LFO speed ramp sounds kind of like a Leslie on acid; and the mad mode can go from a subtle textural effect to heavy blippy bloops.

There’s so much more this pedal can do now..I’m surprised there’s not more talk about it.

Hey people, if anyone out there has dialed in their pedal to sound like Metallica, please send me a picture! I don't really care about the era, but maybe and justice for all would be extra awesome! (I'm gonna run it through the front of my amp on clean channel). That's it, send me pictures and give me tips people!
