Dealing with this texture pop in. Tried increasing Pool Size in the Engine.ini file, deleted all my INI files and re-generated them, changed every setting I could think of, downloaded custom INIs from Nexus.

Some games like squad, garrys mod warthunder dont do this, games like BF6 and planetside 2 Do.

Tested this on Planetside and seems not to matter which monitor its on.
It looks sort of like screen tearing but not really. You can see the edges of objects jitter or stutter only ehen moving the mouse. But if im driving a vehicle and turn to make the same motion its perfect. Ive tried every combination of Vsync, frame caps and low latency modes to try and sort it out but genuinely have no idea whats going on.
I'm posting this here to see if anyone has managed to find a bypass or fix for a texture streaming issue on older AMD GPUs.
I'm playing the AC4 resynced on an RX 590 (8GB VRAM). At launch, I get the popup warning about my display driver being outdated or incompatible. Once in the game, no matter what graphics preset or texture settings I choose (even if I set textures to High or Ultra in the menus or directly in the config files), the engine completely refuses to load high-res textures. Everything stays stuck on Low and looks super blurry.
Here is my full setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 590 (8GB VRAM, Polaris, max Feature Level 12_0. Driver: Adrenalin 23.19.25.01 / 31.0.21925.1001 (latest official legacy driver available for this card))
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz
Motherboard: MSI B450M GAMING PLUS
OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (25H2)
I've already spent hours trying to troubleshoot this. My drivers are up to date according to AMD's legacy support. I tried using DXVK with custom vendor/device IDs in dxvk.conf to trick the game into thinking I have an RTX 3080. The game launches fine with it, but textures stay on Low. I also manually edited the config file to force texture quality to 4 and set it to Read-Only so the engine can't overwrite it, but the game simply ignores the setting in real time. Switching resolutions back and forth to flush the VRAM cache didn't change anything either.
I know the RX 590 tops out at DirectX Feature Level 12_0, meaning it lacks native 12_1 and 12_2 features like hardware Sampler Feedback. Is the game engine hardcoded to fall back to Low textures on 12_0 hardware to avoid VRAM crashes?
If so, is there any known launch flag, registry tweak, mod, or custom DLL wrapper out there that can force the engine to stream Ultra textures on a 12_0 card with 8GB of VRAM?
Thanks a lot if anyone has an idea or a workaround for this!
I have a Lenovo p15v and every time I try to play bl4 I get the same error code “directx 12 is not supported on your system. try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.”
ive tried running the game with dx11 and the like but it refuses to work. Not super tech savvy but I’ve updated my drivers and windows but nothing is workin. any help would be greatly appreciate! Thank you!
(also wasnt sure what tag to add so lmk if I used the wrong one-)
I recently cloned my Windows 10 install from an old AMD PC to a new Intel PC (i3-10100F, ASUS PRIME H510M-E, GTX 1650, 16GB RAM) using a disk image (not a fresh install). Everything works perfectly except Fortnite, which now crashes every single time at the "Initializing" Easy Anti-Cheat screen, either freezing completely or throwing a CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT blue screen.
What I've already ruled out:
Fully clean reinstall of Fortnite twice + manual EAC reinstall (via a install prod-fn shortcut trick i read on reddit)
RAM: physically swapped back to old 8GB stick, ran Windows Memory Diagnostic. It came out with no errors, same crash either way
GPU: clean NVIDIA driver install, no Device Manager errors
Chipset/Intel drivers: fully installed and updated (was originally missing due to the AMD to Intel migration)
BIOS updated from 2021 (v1017) to the latest 2026 version (v3002, includes Intel microcode update)
Hyper-V / Virtualization Platform / Memory Integrity disabled/not applicable. Claude told me to do this one i honestly dont know what it means
CPU C-States/C1E disabled
BlueScreenView on 4 dump files all point generically to, ntoskrnl.exe, no specific driver named
I don't quite remember everything i did, it would be a very long list to adress everything i checked so feel free to ask! thanks a lot
I dont know what else to do damn it! It seems to me that i've done everything i could've done. I've ran out of ideas on what could've gone wrong. I think its time to asume my pc is alergic to fortnite. I dont even like the game that much i just want to rule out any problem my pc may have.
Anyways, due to the comunity rules i downloaded and ran User Benchmark and these were the results. Maybe it helps on the diagnosis, but i don't know how to read it. Im honestly tired of troubleshooting, i've been doing this for three days now.
Context and previous issues:
Hi, when I received my new PC a few months ago, I immediately updated everything, including the BIOS to the latest version. This caused boot loops, which I eventually managed to fix by clearing the CMOS, booting with one RAM stick, and then reinstalling the second stick.
I also tried enabling the EXPO profile to run the RAM at its rated speed of 6000 MHz, but that caused boot loops I couldn't recover from, so I stopped using EXPO.
Main problem:
Now I try to reboot the PC as little as possible, because I sometimes get random boot loops after either a cold boot or a normal restart.
However, whenever I restart because of a Windows 11 update, the boot loop comes back 100% of the time, and I have to repeat the whole procedure: clear the CMOS and boot with one RAM stick.
Am I doomed to retrain the memory after every Windows update until the end of time? Thank you for your help.

Around three weeks ago I cleaned my PC with an air compressor (like I usually do). The problems started after that. Whenever I play games like Hell Let Loose and when I am near explosions or just major fights my monitor suddenly turns black and my PC fans go full speed. It only stops when I do a hard reset. I've come across a similar post, however with mutch newer hardware. ( https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgamingtechsupport/s/XPi3l0BDk6 )
I checked if the PCIe cable is connected well to the gpu, the system gets good airflow, it's old components but in a new case.
I did Furmark test and managed to recreate the problem. Whenever I turn the furry object on it does it. I've also run the Userbenchmark test.
I also want to mention that I moved my PC to another room, but I dont think that it would affect it. Or I hope it doesn't.
If you have a moment please see if you might be able to help me.
I launch **Halo Infinite** on Steam, and it runs amazingly at 4K and have been playing for a few days completrly fine.
However, sice yeterday. After about 1 minute of playing, the screen either completely freezes on a frame or drops to a <1 FPS slideshow.
**The game is still running in the background:**
* Audio works perfectly.
* My inputs still work (I can shoot, move around, and click through menus blindly with my controller).
* Only the video output freezes/stalls.
# What I’ve Already Tried (None worked):
* **Cleared Caches:** Deleted Halo's Proton prefix (`compatdata`), Steam shader cache, and NVIDIA Vulkan caches.
* **Proton Versions:** Tested proton experimental and Ge-Proton.
* **In-Game Settings:** Disabled High-Res Textures DLC, capped FPS at 120 and lowered texture settings.
* **System/Launch Tweaks:** Raised `vm.max_map_count`, added `dxvk.halveNvidiaHVVHeap = True` in `dxvk.conf`, and tested `VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hacks`.
* **OS Rollback:** Rolled back Bazzite using `rpm-ostree rollback`.
Question:
Has anyone with an NVIDIA card on Bazzite / KDE Wayland found a fix for this specific video freezing bug in Halo Infinite? Is there a driver flag or launch command I'm missing?
When I try to play tlou part 1 on steam, a cmd window flashes for a split second and the game never launches, I troubleshooted the problem and could come up with no fixes. Lastly I checked the windows event viewer and this error is the problem:
Faulting application name: tlou-i.exe, version: 1.1.5.0, time stamp: 0x685bebe1
Faulting module name: tlou-i.exe, version: 1.1.5.0, time stamp: 0x685bebe1
Exception code: 0x80000003
Fault offset: 0x00000000011b44d0
Faulting process id: 0x31B8
After digging more a solution that I found was launching the game through a new windows profile, and the game ran perfectly over there with no errors, so hardware is not a problem, this has something to do with windows. Can someone help me out as I don't want to keep changing my profile just to play 1 game.
Hey everyone, I want to share a very rare, mind-boggling hardware experience
My PC was running perfectly fine 95% of the time. I could do heavy video editing, multitasking, and play almost any demanding AAA game with zero issues. Temperatures were icy cool.
However, there were exactly TWO games where my system completely choked: inZOI and Sword of Justice (逆水寒).
The moment I hit the login or loading screen of these two
The Insane Troubleshooting Journey:
Since the PC was shutting down completely, I naturally suspected software or
Reinstalled Windows entirely: Did a clean install, but the issue remained.
Checked Event Viewer: It showed absolutely nothing helpful—just the standard "Kernel-Power (Event ID 41)" error
Swapped the PSU? Still reboots.
Swapped the RAM? Still reboots.
Swapped the Motherboard? Still reboots.
Swapped the GPU? Still reboots.
At this point, I had literally replaced every single component in my PC and refreshed the entire OS, except for the CPU, which was a Ryzen 7 5700G. The issue just refused to go away.
The Plot Twist:
Before throwing my hands up, I decided to do one final crazy test. I pulled out my dedicated GPU entirely and plugged my monitor straight into the motherboard to run on the 5700G’s integrated graphics (iGPU).
Guess what? The PC NEVER rebooted again. It loaded into the login screens of both inZOI and Sword of Justice perfectly fine.
This left me incredibly confused. If the CPU was fine on iGPU, and my dedicated GPU was brand new, what was going on?
The Ultimate Fix:
I went out and bought a brand new Ryzen 7 5700X (kept everything else in the newly built system exactly the same). Put it in, booted up the PC, and fired up the two problematic games.
Boom. Fixed instantly. No reboots, no crashes. Both games now run flawlessly with the dedicated GPU.
The Diagnostic Conclusion:
It turns out my old Ryzen 7 5700G suffered from an extremely rare case of partial silicon degradation, specifically a faulty PCIe Lanes / I/O Die controller.
The CPU cores themselves were healthy (which is why it could edit videos and play other games), and the internal graphics bus was fine (which is why iGPU worked). However, modern heavy engines like Unreal Engine 5 (inZOI) trigger massive, sudden bursts of data and voltage spikes across the external PCIe lanes right at the login screen/shader compilation phase.
Because my CPU's PCIe controller was degraded, it couldn't handle that specific burst load from the dedicated GPU, lost stability for a split second, and triggered a hard hardware reset (auto-reboot). Because it happens at a hardware level instantly, Windows didn't even have time to register an error log in Event Viewer before the power cut.
It was an absolute nightmare to diagnose because "CPU failure" is usually an all-or-nothing thing, but this chip chose to be healthy for some tasks and broken for others.
Has anyone else ever encountered a CPU that was only "partially dead" like this? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I am experiencing a persistent and frustrating issue (
The game was running perfectly fine without any issues for a while. Then, it suddenly stopped working altogether and now throws a specific error code: 0x05.
(I will attach a screenshot of the error message to this post).
I have spent a lot of time troubleshooting this. Here is the complete list of everything I have already tried, with no success:
Permissions & Compatibility: Ran the game as Administrator and tried running it in Win7 Compatibility mode.
Security: Completely disabled my antivirus and Windows Defender/security systems.
System Updates: Updated all system drivers (GPU, etc.) and installed/updated all redistributable packages (Visual C++, DirectX).
Hardware/Inputs: Disabled and unplugged USB ports/devices to rule out any controller or input interference.
Save Files: Suspecting a corrupted save, I first renamed my save files, then deleted them entirely. I even downloaded save files from another website and placed them in the directory.
Game Versions: I re-downloaded the latest game update and applied it. When that didn't work, I downloaded completely newer versions/releases of the game, but the error persists.
Despite doing all of this, the 0x05 error will not go away. Has anyone encountered this sudden crash with this specific error code? Any advanced technical advice would be deeply appreciated.
I spent 3 months trying to figure out why the xbox app on my pc wasnt working i tried reinstalls full pc wipes everything and i finally figured out one day that port master was blocking the connection between xbox and its game servers whether this is intended or not i wanted to let people know so that they dont run into the same thing just uninstall portmaster or allow microsoft game services through its filters
