I just started a patreon as a filmmaker and I have a lot of bts from my films that I want to share exclusively on Patreon first, before sharing it later on my social media platforms.

How early do you post your exclusive content to Patreon before posting it publicly later? I started doing it a week in advance but thought I'd get your thoughts and feedback with regards to sharing exclusive content.

My Patreon account got disabled right when I was at checkout trying to subscribe to a creator. I received an email saying it was due to “suspicious activity” and they asked me to provide verification details.

I sent all the requested information the next day, but it’s now been over 10 days and I haven’t received any response at all.

I’ve already followed up once and still nothing. At this point I just want to get my account back or at least get an update, since I’m missing out on supporting a project I was really interested in.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it take for them to reply?

Today i tried to buy brushes from an artist that i liked, so i went ahead and paid for it, and just after confirming it with the bank, the site open a really annoying pop up of the site and doesnt even register the fact that i paid AFTER TAKING MY MONEY, it was 4 dollars so i tried 3 times because it wasn't that bad but it still didn't work.

And then after looking at my bank i was charged 6 TIMES instead of 3 and i still didn't get my brushes it's outrageous.

Any solutions ? I already contacted the support but they haven't answered yet. I wanted to know if it was a common occurence.

I don't get it. For 2 years at this point, I've been trying to grow my Patreon and get a following. My memberships are affordable, I'm relativity active, and I'm even promoting my Patreon a lot more now, but not a single paid membership at all. On the plus side, after 2 and a half years of trying, I have SOME following. But it's only 4. What am I doing wrong?

My first tier is $1 and my second tier is $3. I'm working on a third tier, which will be $2. I keep it super affordable to attract more customers. I already know how much people hate spending money these days, so I'm trying to not drown their wallets.

Could it also just be my content?

if not, how can I stop myself from being Billed? I look under membership and it just said this account has blocked you.

When I go into my Settings, I don’t see it there but would I see it there if I were blocked?

i know this is the unofficial Patreon sub but maybe one of you guys has an idea to my problem.

My Patreon account is a couple of years old and i have a handful ongoing subscriptions (following other creators).

But i was never a content creator myself nor can i remember actually activating something in the likes.

Yet Patreon is asking or rather forcing me to merge my account; at this point i can only abort the merging-process or continue until the question about what content i provide (none!).

Meaning i'm stuck in a loop.

Any ideas or help would be more than welcome!

I'm the type who wants my patrons to feel that they're getting a good value for their subscription, so aside from sharing full-res/uncompressed versions of my art, I also like to share a lot of WIPs as a reward for each tier.

I don't want my patrons to be fatigued by how often I post.

So it say existing members gonna be charge from 1st still? What stops them from creating new patreon account and join the new subscription thing and take 2 month worth of work for the price of 1 month :(

This sucks and withdraw gonna take longer this way... no more 1st of the month paid but 1st of the month(for current members) + other month for the other members if they joined on 15th they gonna get charge on next 15th.. is confusing and patreon should let people choose the billing plan and NOT FORCE IT on everyone!

From what i know the forced subscription bill was caused by Apple Store payments on patreon... making all creators suffer for few people that joined via apple store...

THEY SHOULD make an option where people CAN'T join your patreon if they try Apple Store Pay but they could JOIN if you have subscription billing on your patreon page.

"Compliance Deadline: To prevent Apple from pulling the Patreon app off the iOS App Store, Patreon required all creators on legacy billing to migrate to subscription billing (with a final deadline of November 1, 2026)."

Being a Creator for 2 years, I never had problems navigating NSFW content creation on Patreon until now. I have read the guidelines and previously single posts that requires editing do make sense with their guidelines. But now I'm getting wholesale post wipeouts despite adhering to Patreon's guidelines. Did something major change?

Like is it related to tax form submission processing time or something? its was weekend past 2 days, so wonder if that's why its still held in queue or something. anyone had similar expereience?

Trying to gift a membership to someone - who also happens to be one of our admins - so that she can troubleshoot the user experience. When she tries to claim the gift, the claim button is greyed out. I’ve successfully gifted another membership to a ‘teammate’ before so I don’t think that’s the issue. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I don't actually make money through Patreon: I TRIED a few years ago, when I was publishing online stories, but no one took the bait and I eventually stopped bothering.

I DID subscribe to a single patron, who does fiction I like. I just tried to go to her page, and I get told that my account is locked and I need to combine profiles to continue.

I don't know what that means, nor why I need to do it.

I'm retaking YouTube video creations in my channel and I would like in the future to have a Patreon with a community of people that contributes.

I'm moving towards the electrotechnical and mecatronical niche, specially in maritime, and I see creators with a lot of Patreon collaborators in the same niche or similar ones.

However I don't quite understand the psychology behind it, how to invite my audience to collaborate and how to convert viewers to patrons.

Do you have experience with this? How do you do it? I would appreciate any insight about this matter. Thank you very much!

I have the feeling that Patreon just isn’t very user friendly for most people.

About two months ago I completely relaunched my Patreon with a very clear concept. I have a fairly engaged audience of around 10k Instagram followers, a newsletter with about 500 subscribers, and a few other channels. Whenever I run crowdfunding campaigns I usually reach my goals without much difficulty, but even my €5 tier barely attracts anyone.

Growth has been really slow, and I don’t get the impression that it’s because of the concept or the work itself. It feels more like there are simply too many practical barriers for people to sign up.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I can't seem to figure out how to download these audio files into my files, I have access to them since I paid the membership, I'm on a phone btw.

Many creators are reporting a worrying trend since Patreon rolled out the new update that floods members' feeds with posts from random creators they don't follow.

From a member's perspective, this is effectively spam. People subscribe to support the creators they chose—not to receive a feed filled with unsolicited recommendations.

Unfortunately, the consequence seems to be that many paid members are cancelling their subscriptions altogether because of the poor user experience. That hurts creators directly, especially smaller ones who depend on Patreon as a stable source of income.

If Patreon wants to help users discover new creators, it should be an opt-in feature, not something forced into everyone's feed. Members should have full control over what they see.

Is anyone else seeing an increase in cancellations since this change?

I tried withdrawing my funds (i do direct deposit as i am in a foreign country) and usually after a few hours i would receive. this time it was rejected saying payoneer needs a valid ID. Last i checked there was no option for submitting your ID, even when i tried to set it up again and it took me to the payoneer page where you state your full name, bank name and branch, there was no "submit ID" option and after of course patreon had to hold the account for 5 days.

I have reached out to patreon support just in case as i don't want to try again and be rejected but i thought payoneer was only a processor...why do they need your ID now?

I’ve been running my Patreon account for six months now, publishing a total of 80 chapters of my alternate history novel, yet my after-tax earnings are under $80. Is this level of revenue normal? Is it worth continuing? Also, how exactly are Patreon’s fees calculated? I often feel like my readers are paying far more than what I’m actually receiving.

According to Patreon I'm receiving 117 dollars per month but I did a manual count in where according to my active paid members I'm supposed to be receiving 170+ dollars per month. Why is it showing 117 dollars per month?
